- This is a review of the Louis Vuitton Metis handbag released January 2013.
Named Metis after the daughter of Greek Titans Oceanus and Tethys, Metis was considered both wise and cunning.
The Metis a modern reinterpretation of the Monceau.

Well....I just purchased one on the preloved market and can't wait for it to arrive! I love the outside pocket! Great area for keys and cellphone! And it has the best of both worlds with removable vachetta and monogram straps! Fingers crossed that the one I just purchased is in great shape! Sure do miss you doing these review videos! You truly were the best at it of any luxury UA-camr! Thank you for keeping these videos online for us late bloomers to see!!!

This bag is versatile in how you can wear it in the crook of your arm, just holding the leather handle, over the shoulder or crossbody with a longer strap. The brass feet are nice and the outside pocket is okay, although I don't usually use it because the closure is awkward with one hand. Great all-around everyday bag - the Neverfull is just too big and too open at the top whereas the Metis has more restricted access which is nice for security. The gathered sides with the outer seam really is cute.

I had the same reservations as you when I first saw the bag ... and kept going back to look at it time and time again. Now, I'm sold ... I love it. I really want this bag now! Cant believe you have the artsy, sully, gallliera, delightful'S' and now Metis?! They are all so similar but each beautiful in their own way.. I have the Galliera and Delightful and am now thinking of getting the Metis, my husband is like.. 'These bags are all the same.. are you crazy?' Iol. I can imagine from his point of view, it does look a bit nuts. Anyway, I love your collection and your videos.. The metis suites you very well and thanks for sharing.

I don't understand why LV would discontinue this gorgeous bag!! Of course they have other great hobo options like the Melie & Artsy (which I love) but there is something about the Metis hobo that's unique and slightly different for them, yet still very LV.
It looks like one of those backpacks, but on the side~ it is cool that they did a monogram strap
Another couple of great, thorough reviews! I wish the price increase wasn't tomorrow!! I think I like this bag. I too, have worn backpack style handbags before and like them. I also really appreciate anytime there is an outside pocket on a bag to throw in keys or cell - however this one is probably more cumbersome to use. I'm not sure how I feel about the Marylebone. Usually a two-handled shoulder bag will not stay on my very rounded shoulders. Thanks again for the reviews!

I LOVE THE POCKET JUST PERFECT FOR WHAT I LIKE IN A BAG. IT SERVES BOTH A DESIGN AND WITH PURPOSE. WETHER YOU PUT SOMETHING OR NOT I STAYS AS IS BECAUSE IT IS SHAPED. IT GIVES DISTINCTION BETWEEN OTHER HOBO BAGS.

I bought this Lv Bag when it first came out, and loved it. Then after 6 months I had to replace the monogram lv strap that cracked just from wear. Which the LV store replaced for free. Which for the money I paid for the bag I was really disappointed. Then about one month later owned the bag 7 months the top part of the purse cracked. I went back to the LV store and they told me I could choose a brand new bag or replace it, but they could not guarantee it wouldn't happen again. Just wanted to warn those who are going to pay a lot of money for this bag to be careful. I did choose another bag the Tivoli which I love even more.
So disappointing, but glad that LV stood behind their product and offered you a replacement.

About six years ago I always wanted a LV purse but with these crazy price increases, its unfortunate to say that I will most likely never own an LV! I could never justify paying almost $1,000 on a bag! Maybe one day we'll get lucky and LV will do a price decrease! ;) haha anyways, beautiful bag! I actually like it surprisingly enough!

As an indigenous Metis person, I'm really disappointed that a big designer like Louis Vuitton can not be more original in assigning names to his product lines. Its hard enough being a person from a suppressed culture without being demeaned into a handbag!

Great review!!! Love the front pocket and the hardware...but people have been saying that LV is skimming on the hardware quality, so do u think they will tarnish very quickly and turn silverish!! Hope you can advise..thanks so much!!
