Definitely rare and I love that it's a sleeper! Mr. Dage has it looking pristine and I'm sure he and Kenny had a blast researching and finding it. I love the exhaust rumble, too. What a special and fun car! Thanks, Lou!
Hi TheGunfighter45acp, "Happy to read "Definitely rare and I love that it's a sleeper!" :-) My pleasure sharing this "special and fun car!" with you. You're welcome, Lou
I have a black 92 formula 5.7 ws6 with every factory option. Including the rare slp performance pack with added 60 hp. It’s believed only about 25 full kits were sold because it was very expense. It consisted of a slp parts with a chip, 3 inch exhaust, tri y header, intake runners, and cold air intake. I’ve had it since high school and bought it off the original owners family after he had passed. It just hit 50k miles and is in great survivor condition.
This is one of the Camaro generations that I liked the most; and, proof of this, is this magnificent, and rare, 1992 Chevrolet Camaro RS 25th Anniversary with the special B4C police package! Its beautiful straight and defined lines, along with the dark tinted windows, its characteristic elongated rear guides, and the five-point wheels, stood out a lot with that Arctic White paint! Beautiful combination of interior tones, with the seats and upholstery in red, along with the instrument panel, steering wheel and gearbox in black (the entire interior looked impeccable). Interesting about the 5-liter V8 engine compartment, which houses discontinued parts of the Corvette engine. The collection of manuals and brochures in the trunk is excellent (with special mention for that great anniversary brochure with magnificent photographs). Finally, the final trip along those highways was excellent; since, although it is equipped to be an interceptor, the vehicle behaved quite smoothly and silently. Congratulations to Mr. Dage, for owning one of the few models built in that short period of time (between 1991-92) and in such magnificent condition! Best regards, Lou!
Hi Jaime, Happy to read you enjoy this generation :-) Happy to share this Police Package car with you. Enjoy reading the details in your comment on what you see, Lou
Never knew they had a actual police cop car package for the Camaro plus a five speed on top of that terrific fine Lou God bless you for feature it. Great car.❤
AWWWW man, ya got me with this one, Lou. My big bro Lou! What a sleeper indeed, and POW! SOCK! JV Johnny/Robin is once again knocked out 'n slung over your shoulder, man 😵😵🤣😜. This review is so awesome on so many levels, Lou. And I am sorry for these long comments I give, but seeing you IS like seeing a big brother showing me an awesome car, and the sweet but wiseass 14 year old boy right inside me is leaping for joy and laughing! I have heard of, but never learned about in detail, one of these awesome F bodies (cars of my youth) with the 5 speed police package. My Dad was a cop in the Bronx (he passed many years ago), and although he could be a rough guy, I really miss him and his presence. When I was a kid (and even a grown man) he would always call my ever present white tube socks "baseball stockings", and I was like-WTF Dad?! they are tube socks! lol 🤪, but now at 50 I completely embrace the term. I think my heroes Robin Yount, Jose Cruz, Carl Yaz and Amos Otis would 100% agree! This Camaro is made for guys wearing ol' skool baseball stockings and floppy sneakers for sure lol 🤪. The way you Ken go over the Corvette parts (freakin' badass AWESOME!!) in this beautiful girl here is such a joy. To hear that 5.0 liter V8 roar...OH MAN! "What sweet music she makes..." as Gary Oldman's Dracula would say 🤣😉...and what a beautiful car, what a gorgeous body even after all these years....Oh man!...My floppy sneakers are just slipping on and off my tubesocked baseball stocking feet as I write this🤪. Thanks for all the heart and badass cars you bring us, my big brother Lou! JV Johnny ⚾⚾
Het JV Johnny, Happy to share this "sleeper" with you :-) Love the fact your Dad was rough, however "I really miss him and his presences" which tells me it was a joy to have him around as what a "real man" should be like. NICE! Glad to read you learned a lot from this video. My pleasure sharing the cars with you, Lou
I own a black 92 Firebird formula 5.7 ws6. The original owner ordered every option including the rare dealer installed slp performance pack. I’ve been told only about 25 full kits were sold because it was very expense. It added 60hp and consisted of slp chip, 3 inch exhaust, tri y headers, intake runners, and cold air intake. It still has all documents and slp decals in door jams and under the hood. I got in high school from the original owners family after his passing. It just hit 50k miles and is in great survivor condition.
My buddy also had a 5 speed tpi stripper iroc Camaro with standard bolt ons and I beat him in a race many times. But that Iroc was quick for a 305 no doubt. He’d give 5.0 mustangs and our buddy’s 97’ cobra a run for their money.
These were the most striking designs since the C2 Vette and the 64 Mustang. And perhaps the most stunning. It SCREAMS fast while it's standing still. I had an early version. I modified it to get 300hp. More than enough for me.
The 1992 5L TPI/5spd was 205 SAE net HP. The GU6 code denotes a 3.42:1 rear gear ratio. It should give the car a top speed in excess of 120 mph. The G80 denotes an automatic locking differential. Positraction which operates normally as an open differential. When one wheel spins 100 rpm faster than the other one, the locking function engauges. Gives great burn-outs! If you wanted a manual 5-spd. and a V8, the 5L V8 was the only choice across the Camaro line. A 5.7L V8 was only available in a coupe(not a T-Top nor convertible) w/automatic transmission. Police service vehicles were usually ordered radio-delete. A dealer could sell one of these cars to a private person who was what we call now a "first responder".

It wouldn't be a '91 or '92 if the third brake light worked. The little plastic clip that holds the bulb becomes brittle and breaks after 30+ years. I would imagine the teeth-rattling, bone-breaking ride doesn't help keep ancient plastic parts in top condition either. It's really crazy to think that folks intentionally bought brand-new cars that rode as bad as these do. They handle ok, but if the road is bad, buddy hold on.

I bought a 91 formula 5.7L, (with the performance package) the funnest one to drive was my buddies 84 Z28 ...L69, 5 spd, 3.73 posi. With just a couple external mods??? Car was fast as fuck. But the 5.7L was rated at 245hp. I had a 5spd performance PKG car ordered but with recession extended plant shutdown at end of 1990. I will tell you this, I heard all the hype about the 5.0 5spd being faster.... I call bullshit ...in the days when they were new i raced 3 305 5spd for cash ...walked away from each and every one of them 7 to 8 car lengths in the 1/8mi. 4 to get 6 in the 1/4. And yes they were all TPI performance pkg cars not that slug LO3 305

Many RS cars were V6, but that was okay, because they had the body looks of the earlier Z28. One of GMs best ever bodystyles.
