I bought Timeless awhile back. I love FF but I don't like their wonky modulation system and some of their strange UI choices. Just scored cluster delay and looking forward to it.
Minimal Audio, if you're watching: it would be really cool if the number of taps was smoothly automateble, perhaps by cross-fading between the nearest two tap values, but there are other modes I could think of.
I love the way it sounds. I own Rift, which I use in every project, now. Minimal Audio has done a great job of continuing to develop Rift. I'd expect no different of Cluster Delay. This will be a near future purchase for me.
I'm also a proud owner of all the minimal audio products. I've Never been disappointed by their products. Event their soundpacks are great. For me this delay is the first one that can replace the native instruments replika xt that I usually use
I think this plugin sounds amazing, however I think there a lot of things I think it should be able to do. Like I am always wishing I could more than one of the fx at once also. The modulators from rift would take this plugin to the next level and I feel they missed out on great sound design options by not including those things.
I was angry because we don't have a trial version, and in the end I am I bought it thanks to you. I have top plugins similar to this one but this one is really unique, and I get good results very easily. I think Minimal Audio effects is a great addition to Bitwig, they need to merge. Thank you for the demo.
Feedback lite by the same company does very well, specially like to be able to tune to notes & scales, doesn't beat supermodal or sandman pro. I like how the workflow of the ui is extended just expected more than just visual representation of taps. The reverse effect could be simulated by super tight and dense crescendo setting. What it seems missing is maybe negative (pre delay values). The modulation system of bitwig and the basic delay modules seems still superior. It isn't that hard to use ultratap for example and chain it with frequency shifter, bitcrusher, transient shaper, chorus, phaser etc. It's a little overpriced with around $50 for that plugin unit but the pricing policy is great (free updates I guess? )
brillian interface and workflow, I really wish they could have added the possibility of using different tap amounts for each stereo channel (sorry if im asking for something that is already present in the plugin, havent tried it yet)
The question as always is: How is the CPU usage? The plugin can be perfect, but if the CPU usage is high it is a problem because freezing tracks and bouncing audio back and forward is not a smooth workflow I want to have... Also what interests me, if you can get into the granular realm?
It looks like there IS internal modulation, for some of the effects, like for diffusion, the right-most knob becomes (surprise!) "Modulation" and for effects like the phasor, or wobble, it becomes "Rate", meaning the rate of modulation in the time domain of the effect. So is it not more fair to say only some parameters offer modulation, rather than that there is NO modulation? Agree, it certainly appears that there is no modulation of the baseline "Time" value, which is a feature of many delays including the Ableton stock "Delay" effect. Is the Time parameter offered up to the DAW for modulation driven externally to the plug-in, i.e. via automation or (in Live) the LFO or Shaper effects? Is every parameter in the GUI made available for automation? I think that's an important aspect of any plugin to evaluate. I have been dismayed to find some fancy plugins have a very sparse set of parameters that can actually be externally driven/automated during playback.
Yea I do remember referencing that for folks with DAWs like Ableton/Bitwig you can add any modulations for any of the parameters. I guess no modulation was a bit of an overstatement, but at the same time every chorus/phaser effect will have modulation as part of its intrinsic function, so I hazard to count those as additional features if you know what I mean. It's also very limited, like only 1 type of LFO. But yea, it's all negated by a good DAW, like I mentioned in the video. Anyway thanks for watching!
I think this compares to the uvi relayer plugin...but with less controls, am i right? Unfortunately there is no demo version...thats always a no go for me...
Just out of curiosity, tried out all Valhalla's and the most I liked was Valhalla Room(Reverb) after Super Massive... But I don't know about this plugin though.
Thanks! This is very interesting for my sound sculpture (algorithmic (in Max) physical collective suspended instruments) installations. I love your work! If you have a clue on complex slow modulation effects, may be from that company... cause i work with radar breath rate sensors for a research where i use biofeedback. The idea is to find a way to modulate my "sensitive" atmospheric generative ambiances. I'm testing a lot of effects in Max, thought the [VST~] object in Max 8.5 But the VST3 objects i've been loading rarely give me chance to explore slow and rich complex and smooth spectral modulations. I'm aware that this is a strange question... But if you know of any tool that could go that way aesthetically, man, i'd really appreciate. Thanks in advance, and keep on keeping on the good work! Martin
The delay buffer control doesn’t exist in any delay I know and it sucks. I always put some kind of tremolo or something similar to be able to control what part of the sound I want the delay to affect. How hard would it be to add this buffer length control ?
I didn’t say it was the first delay ever, in fact mentioned that there are others. This one is far better than NI but maybe I’m biased because I don’t like much that NI does anymore.
I really like the graphical representation . I am a very visual person.
This will be also be great for Dub and Ambient. Thanks for the review!
Fabfilter Timeless 3 also has taps in this manner sort of, but this Cluster Delay gui seems more handy, cool!
I bought Timeless awhile back. I love FF but I don't like their wonky modulation system and some of their strange UI choices. Just scored cluster delay and looking forward to it.
I have timeless 3 and this just seems way more intuitive
You know this will be great for Dub Techno already
I wanted these delay controls since like a decade ago, it’s crazy how behind the music world is in some aspects
It has a lovely grainy 'dubby' flavour when you start messing with the tails and having it sync in tempo with the DAW
Minimal Audio, if you're watching: it would be really cool if the number of taps was smoothly automateble, perhaps by cross-fading between the nearest two tap values, but there are other modes I could think of.
Cool idea

How does it compare CPU wise to Replica (which is CPU hungry)?
@@mikelo303 Honnestly, I can't say.... My cpu (i7 11th gen) handles them both without a problem
Likewise, I'm a huge fan and always just update the bundle. Everything else is on halt but Minimal I make exceptions for, even the soundpacks.

Looks amazing! I can see this being very useful for making dub with less hassle too...
Damn its really good. I was looking for something like this for a long time now and finally its here. Thank you for showing it :)
thanks for bringing this , Its indeed a new and interesting approach

Sounds awesome for doing U2's 'the Edge' style guitar delays!
Morning Dash! Hope you're keeping well! Thanks for the review! Awesome! ;D
Thanks a lot. Looks a lot like NI Replika XT!
I have to check out Replika before buying this. Thanks
Cool, very informative! :) at some moment I want to get the MA plugins.

Nice ✨ Kind of reminds me of Audio damage other desert cities delay
This seems like it's gonna be one of my favorite delays once I get my hands on it.
brillian interface and workflow, I really wish they could have added the possibility of using different tap amounts for each stereo channel (sorry if im asking for something that is already present in the plugin, havent tried it yet)
Great stuff. I immediately bought it when it came out. Extremely useful for Dub Techno too :)
Always have a great content! Greetings from Brazil!
I think another con is they dont do demo's but its spring sale so i could not pass it now ... thx a lot for the wonderful showcase
Yet another no brainer purchase - Damn you Dash 😂
I love it 😍
Really cool plugin, 49euro is a good price too imho.
Thank you!
i wish i had the money for this plugin so goood
Propa sick. Good workflow.
This has dub written all over it.

i would get used to bouncing it to audio, sometimes you just have to because of the plugins you are using

Nice plugin! What vst synth did you use to create this chord/stab sound?
Hi. You promised a long time ago that you would make a complete tutorial about the BW sampler. We are still waiting :)
Kind regards
I think this compares to the uvi relayer plugin...but with less controls, am i right? Unfortunately there is no demo version...thats always a no go for me...
I was just about to buy Valhalla delay. Now I'm looking at this instead
Valhalla Delay is a pretty superb all rounder for delays. I've got about 15 delays and I reach for Valhalla for the bulk of my delay needs.
It's hard to beat Valhalla DSP.
Just out of curiosity, tried out all Valhalla's and the most I liked was Valhalla Room(Reverb) after Super Massive... But I don't know about this plugin though.
Cool!
Would u say this one is better than color copy?
Yea, far more advanced. Colourcopy is great mainly for it's sound quality, this sounds good and has a ton of wild features
Thanks! This is very interesting for my sound sculpture (algorithmic (in Max) physical collective suspended instruments) installations.

can i listen to your stuff somewhere?
VcV Rack will def have something for you, I know in hardware modular a company called Xaoc does a very slow modulation system
The delay buffer control doesn’t exist in any delay I know and it sucks. I always put some kind of tremolo or something similar to be able to control what part of the sound I want the delay to affect. How hard would it be to add this buffer length control ?
I believe the input send mode allows you to do this? control which / how much of the input is affected.
Looks like this is everything the Eventide Ultratap should have been. Something I find myself saying a lot about plugs from Eventide vs newer devs.
I don't understand, cubase have problems with automations?
Modulation
its a same there is no demo to download and try for 14 days or someting
Tbh not really hearing anything here that couldn't be done w/ Echo Boy, which you can find on sale pretty often for the same price.
Resizable GUI, and updates more than once every decade ;)
@@DashGlitch If it isn't broke, don't fix it? :D
Feels like they made it for dub\deep\minimal\techno... Not for psy...
I don't think developers have genres in mind, it's a tool that can be used for a variety of things.
native instruments already did this with replika XT.........
I didn’t say it was the first delay ever, in fact mentioned that there are others. This one is far better than NI but maybe I’m biased because I don’t like much that NI does anymore.
Christ..
50 bucks for delay plugin when you can get a free one and with a lil imagination, do what they can do.
Which free delay has multitap and a usable GUI? honestly I'm interested
There is no perfect plugin, the closest are Valhalla, Sound toys etc.. This is far away from them.
Soundtoys? Been a while since I've used their stuff, and I own it all ;)
Really, how is it far from Valhalla and soundtoys?
