Minor Spoiler Warning! I don't know if this counts, but you've been warned! . . . . . The ending has some magical realism to it. Like I said, I guess there was a hint, but the story felt really realistic for the most part - and then I felt like I got hit with this unbelievable aspect. That's it. That's the little warning and the minor spoiler hehe
Every single book you mentioned is on my TBR and you made me want to read all of them (except The Lovely War) even more! I also loved your in-depth thoughts on Ecclesiastes. I just finished 1st John and man, thats such a hard-hitting book. I feel like it always knocks me down a peg (but in a good way 😂).
Love that you included your Bible reading! You are a light and I'm proud to call you friend! :) I get what you said about the ending of This Tender Land, but I absolutely loved that book and the ending didn't bother me!
I've never read a Jojo Moyes novel, but I know they are very popular - I just haven't gotten to them yet! This Tender Land sounds wonderful. William Kent Krueger sounds sooo familiar to me, though I can't recall why.All in all, it looks like you had a great reading month in April! Hope you are enjoying your May books, too.
Totally agree on the self love movement. The self absorbed don’t need more justification and even more opportunities to be more selfish. They are very good at taking care of themselves as it is. They invented self love routines. I’m so glad to hear you talk about this. Maybe it will help. We all need to be more loving to other people not ourselves. Is it just not possible to be meek, humble and giving while constantly being in these self absorbed “me” routines that are “trending!”
it is refreshing that a Christian book focuses on God and His word, instead of all about self. I saw on goodreads certain catch phrases were shown and I have only read one, 'wash your face' and that woman is not a Christian in the biblical sense and the fact she puts her business ahead of everything else in her life; God, husband, children, is frustrating, because she's reaching so many people. As well as the reason she and her husband decided to change churches and it had nothing to do with God. That book and the fact amazon kept removing my review is why I'm on youtube reviewing books. I just found out that Allie Beth has a podcost. =)
You’re not alone in not being impressed by Lovely War. It did not impress me for different reasons. I just failed to connect with the characters and thus didn’t feel invested when tragedy struck.

I agree 100%! It felt so off from the rest of the story and not really needed.

Yay! What an incredible way to end this book collection with the Bible. God bless & protect you!

You're one of the more sophisticated booktubers out here.

Thank you for sharing!
Love your thoughts on self love! I’m reading in Romans right now - so practical! Love your perspective and wrap ups!
I'll have to check out You're Not Enough. Love what you said about Ecclesiastes
Great job speaking God’s truth, keep it up!
What does it mean when someone talks about the pros of the book? (Probably spelled wrong)
