Hi Jan, another beautiful card and thank you for being a perfectionist at your card making. I am the same as you, if something doesn’t look 👀 right I dispose of it and start again, saving anything that could be used on another project. Thank you for sharing this beautiful card with us and please keep them coming. xxx
Beautiful card, Jan....definitely one to give a try. Thank you for always being creative and sharing with your adoring public!! I searched all over for this tutorial. I saw it a few weeks ago and subscribed but forgot to save. I finally did a search for you and tissue paper. I’ll be sending something using this technique to my clients for supporting me. This is the most beautiful card for this thank you card! Thank you from Dallas, TX!
I've never seen or tried this faux Silk technique until now and I lOVE it! Three beautiful cards made with three lush colours Grapefruit Grove, Highland Heather and Balmy Blue! Adore the ribbon pack and the small and large 'Gingham' print dsp stack in those aforementioned colours along with the REALLY lush Daffodil Delight and Lemon-Lime Twist. Tfs ~ C ~
Lovely cards Jan always enjoy your videos you are so clear with your explanations making it look so easy, thank you looking forward to seeing more in 2019🥰
Hi Jan this is a lovely technique and a very pretty card, I did make one with you,but I don`t have the pritt stick,so carefully wrapped the tissue paper around the card and stuck it with snail. While my card is not as good as yours, I am happy with it for a first try, but I will be having another go when I get me a pritt stick. Thanks for sharing xx
Just so lovely, Jan! Love the Balmy Blue for this card. I actually used the thick end of the Tombow recently because I didn't have a glue stick on hand, and it worked just fine. Mind you, I was adding glitter, but either with or without it was fine, just need to let it dry before proceeding. Love your layout ... just such a pretty card! Thanks for another beautiful share!!
Jan, these cards are gorgeous. Your illustration of this technique is fantastic. Always enjoy ur tutorials of crafting. Thank you for sharing & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Hi Jan, thank you for another great tutorial. I have used decorative tissue for backgrounds but I haven't thought about doing it this way. Thanks again.
Many thanks, Francine. It makes so much difference keeping ribbon scissors just for ribbons! I didn't appreciate it until I started doing it! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
What a marvelous technique using the tissue paper!! Thank you for sharing :) I'm also excited to get my order of the beautiful ribbon!! I am thankful too that you showed the complimentary paper ... silly that I didn't catch that when going thru the catalog!! I also love how you use the tear & tape! I never would have thought to release the sides just a bit and position the card before releasing the rest!! Love your videos! I wish I had the gumption to do them too!! Maybe I'll be brave someday!!
Many thanks, Robyn. I really appreciate your very kind words. I find it easier to get my layers straight by using tape - glad you like the idea, too. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
Jan, these cards are beautiful! I think I would be tempted to call the technique faux linen. I used some tissue paper that comes in the boxes of new shoes; worked great. Thanks for sharing. Betty
Many thanks, Betty. That's a great tip! I wonder if that will help our Australian crafters who are having a struggle to find decent tissue paper! Many thanks for sharing! ☺ Happy crafting. JanB.
These cards are lovely. Thank you for sharing. I loved the way you used the tear and tape to attach the layers. This is something I will try. As usual, your work is impeccable. Happy New Year Greetings from Virginia in the US!
Jan I am amazed how long you can leave your pritt stick to the air before putting your tissue on, mine dries so quickly. This faux silk method is really going to work in my Japanese journal/diary ty x
Hi Jan I always love your videos and this is no exception. Thanks for the inspiration . Mary-Ann Lynch I was thinking the same about the tissue paper but luckily have some in my "stash" so not sure from whence it came !! I think it was from Woolies originally !! Hope you find some. I'm in Sydney.
Many thanks, Dianne. I hope you're all able to find some suitable tissue paper in Australia, or maybe I'll have to set up my own shop! LOL! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
This is a new technique for me. I'll have to give it a try. I have passed over that stamp set, because I have a few that have lots of textures, but I really like the stamp you used.
Hi Jan Happy crafting new year. Great card it’s nice to see some of the old techniques back with the new stamp sets for ideas. I hate waste and seeing you stamp off the colour on to waste paper seems such a shame I use a spare piece of card and randomly stamp the colour off before putting on the tissue and in the process I’m creating a spare background for use on another card. Are you going to Farnborough this year? Thanks for the ideas and inspiration x
Many thanks, Kay. That's a great idea about creating spare backgrounds. I've written it down as I'll try and give that a go! Unfortunately, no I won't be going to Farnborough this year! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
This is a new-to-me technique and I definitely will try it. Love your cards. Couldn't help noticing how pretty your nails are. Are they custom or something else?

Many thanks, Debbie. I made a Christmas card using the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets and glitter, and I have four packets of Christmas napkins on my desk I never got round to using. I have another pack that goes brilliantly with one of our suites..............but that's all I'm saying about that at the moment! LOL! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
Hi, Carmel. I use a guillotine to cut my cardstock, which is always Stampin' Up! cardstock. The weight is 216gsm. I hope this helps. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.

Thank you but how do you cutout the cards so accurate and what weight card do you use
Hi, Carmel. I use a guillotine to cut my cardstock, which is always Stampin' Up! cardstock. The weight is 216gsm. I hope this helps. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
How do you decide when you use tape verses glue to assemble your cards?
Hi, Charlotte. My first choice nowadays is to use tape, but on this card I chose Tombow because I wanted to be sure I had adhered all the tissue down properly. I hope this helps. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
