This confirmed by Audi Canada: The Audi, Germany's "mild hybrid" coasting feature is NOT AVAILABLE on any of the 2019 model year A6, A7, A8 and Q8 vehicles they they exported to the North American market. The only part of the system that is available is the 48 volt START/STOP feature. Our 2019 A6 confirms this! Apparently very few people are aware of this at this time. This coasting feature IS available on all European models apparently. At this time Audi gives no reason as to just why it was left out of the North American models. One might also ask just why Audi decided to hide this information from North American purchasers?? Spent hours attempting to get it to work as did our dealership (16 days) until Audi admitted it was not a feature here.
I drove an A6 and A7 here in the US and wondered the same thing. It's probably because of legislation. It's the same with the Matrix headlights. I spent hours trying to find out why I don't get the beams to split and it's because the adaptive beam is still not legal. But when the law changes then it's a simple software update.
You have to be happy that you got "another stupid function" turned off by factory. It was only going to kill that small battery. It's useless marketing scam. The entire "12v/48v mild hybrid system" is a scam. It makes the entire drivetrain a lot more complicated and expensive to buy/repair and offers zero benefits. They even put in in 2L/3L diesels. Scammers.
and now the alternator/generators are failing in hundreds of cars after a few years, and failing in a highly dangerous way putting live of driver and passengers at risk.... Audi not accepting there is a problem. A RECALL is required...
I am doing mine on TPI, after discussing with Audi Ag on messenger, i know, it is hard to believe. My car is in service from 27.03.2023, and on 13.04. they called me to ofer in change a car free of charge until mine is solved, and costs 0, after i payed already 1500 euro jost for the order setting 😅. They said the producer admitted it is a problem with the BAS, now i hope the 48V will be ok.
Question: does the MHEV system save gas, too? I heard the video said once the car is above 34 mph, the engine will be shut off. Sounds like it can save gas, but not sure. Thanks.
I'm wondering the same thing. They also need to bring back the fogs lights at the bottom. Its just not an Audi without it. I won't upgrade past a 2016. So I'll either be switching models or brands. My 15 A4 Quattro PP is at 42k. They need to bring back the fog lights.
2019 Audi A6 with the 3.0T alternator went out at 33k miles. Thankfully I had an extended warranty and Audi paid for replacement. Unfortunately they replaced the faulty alternator with the same part so I imagine it will go out after another 33k miles or so. Disappointing
Has anyone figured out how to remove/ jump this system completely out of the vehicle so it runs without it?? I want a used A6/A7 but not with this time bomb attached to it… that’s a long term maintenance NIGHTMARE on par with Mercedes ABC hydraulic suspension system from the early 2000s.
Finally have a face to blame for this terrible system. Having nothing but electrical faults for the 48v system and when I look anything up about it it seems I'm not the only one. (Also €2,000 for a new 48v battery)👎
BAS is also faulty, i am waiting for mine to come for over 1 month, it is also over 2k euro to change it, but not on stock....., 48V battery also will go under 6% and entering on safe mode, so will have to change it too.
This is the weakest point I the car.i have a quote for 12 000 eur to replace the battery bas and dc/DC converter. The DC to DC failed and I turn damaged the battery and bas.very common on the cars.what a shame
This is the most worthless video. It doesn't say what the mild hybrid system even does. How does it get power (regenerative breaking, etc..)? Does it provide power on its own? Is there an electric motor to assist with that? How much hp and in*lb of torque can the system provide?
Can someone explain to Audi that the era of the combustion engine for personal transport is over please. We don't want complex over engineered combustion vehicles any more, we need full electric vehicles, with zero tailpipe emissions, silent drive trains, low maintenance and low running costs. Combustion engines are so last century!
Well, Audi is more ahead than most brands in electric efforts. The entire VW brands are making solid efforts and have a robust plan to move to electric. The 48v system is just for now, while we transition.
Very emotional, just like the engineers pouring all the heart and soul into the car

Please elaborate on the safety aspects of alternator/generator failure.
Very nice
please - AUDI - NO FAKE EXHAUST. -- no FAKE anything please.
It's time to finish this puritans approach because all that started from the big envy about the German auto technique leadership.
They look less like exhaust pipes than the fake ones on the S Class. I think that's a good thing.
There was a time I used to drive up there you know

You will save just enough to give to the mechanic when this system fails
I would like to have one of those the a8 hybrid

They usually go out at about 20k miles on the RS6.
Worlds most complicated hybrid vehicle ever.... 36,000 mile warranty. lmfao
The fake exhaust. .... smh.
total trash. I own Audi and I've made sure to mention it every time they ask for a survey or feedback in any way.
Why not an ISG though?
Now you know who's that sob who is responsible when that system goes caput
I need one
Quand on arrive pas à faire du full hybrid on met des petites batterie et un dynamo comme sur les vélo
more electrocal problems are innovated.. these audi engineers are savages
Why audis catch fire my cousin had a Audi Q3 and it catches fire
Well spoken
Genuine question: Why Men don't like fake exhaust?
This is like a DRS

I am also looking for an A6 without this madness, didy ou get one?
If only I could afford one
The regera had a fake exhaust and it costs 1.8 million dollars
Audi can beat the regera!
Ok
I own one. Not impressed...
Make a knew rs7 and r8
James Sheldon Done and dead

nice how they use the millionaire class as the guinea pigs for once.
