It’s a good time to do it Cody . Safety and you coming home to race another day is important.

Awesome! Yeah, it totally sucks to spend the money for something you hope you never use. I'm the tall guy that asked you 5 million questions in may at Crusin OC. Lol. I envy your car it's awesome! I finally dyno'd mine and it made 972/818 on 16lbs. Only a rods/pistons motor. I keep debating going your route, just don't know if I can dedicate the time to go racing. I'm going to try and make it to world cup as a spectator.

You said in the video that you were thinking of re-doing the 6R80? What happened with it? You also mentioned wanting a Turbo 400 transmission. Is the 6R80 design limiting how much power that you can put through it with your current combo, therefore necessitating a TH400 swap? Brett Lasala went TH400 I think while he still running low 7’s? I’m wondering if you are at the limit with your 6R80 from listening to you? As to the cage, the way I look at it is, that is going to be some money very well spent if God forbid you were to ever have a crash at speeds approaching/surpassing 200mph. Keep up the hard work. I’m really enjoying your build series.

I am sending it out this month to get fresh clutches and a clean bill of health so I have a 100% healthy trans for World Cup finals. If I were to switch I would do a very nice close ratio 3 speed th400. I do believe the transmission is limiting my engines capability and my chassis from going faster. The fastest Brett went with a 6r is 7.7 like I have myself before he called it quits and moved on. Maybe he lost desire or maybe he realized it was limiting him as well. A different transmission, gearing, and a stronger one would most certainly allow me to go faster and leave harder on more boost etc. the 4 gears of shifting and the parts inside this trans and the design definitely is hard to put down and hold power. Fastest anyone has been with 6 gears is 7.50. Then Lund has been 7.0 with a 3 speed 6r. Thanks for the compliment and I hope to have a new video up tomorrow night

@@Crodgers1407 This is going to get very interesting, as I see you eclipsing that 7.50 barrier if you can keep that front end from raising up too much? I’m damn curious to see how your 6R80 holds up? I’m personally at a crossroads as whether to go with a 6R80 swap or a TH400 swap for my project? It is not a Mustang. I’m wondering if a 6R80 will be able to handle the amount of power I plan on running with my engine (up to 2K whp)? I’m in Texas and you know that we love our “roll racing” around here. The 6R80 and it’s extra gearing would be very nice in a “street car” application like mine. Not looking to run 6’s, but have a consistent and reliable transmission to dip into the 7’s. If you’re wondering what I have it’s a 1998 Supra. I’m getting rid of the factory auto that is in it.

@@tbonilla6922 I have faith I can pass that barrier as well. Hopefully it happens at World Cup and then I have the off season to decide to stick with the 6r or change before tx2k24. The front end seems to stay down with the new suspension, I’m just concerned with the stock rear now.

@@tbonilla6922 I have never seen or heard of a 6r80 swapped Supra. I know a ton of th400s. What else do they run? Maybe like a 4l80 with over drive? Has to be another well developed option for this things. But to my knowledge seems like every Supra I have seen is either a stick car or a th400. Either way you go good luck. Supras are cool cars

@@Crodgers1407 The 4L80 swap kits are out there, but it’s only a 4 speed. The 6R80 gearing is very similar to the factory 6 speed manual gearing found in the MKIV Supra. There is a company called Powerhouse Racing in Texas that has a really nice 6R80 swap kit. Taking a hard look at that, but I’m concerned about the RWHP/RWTQ limitations of the 6R80. I like the idea of a 6spd auto with an overdrive and manual option that the 6R80 provides. I’m going with either an 8.8 or a 9 inch rear end too, both of which are actual Ford or Ford designed parts, so why not just stay all Ford, lol? And I’m a big fan of Coyote powered Mustangs. I’m 52 and my first car was a 1988 Mustang GT. I loved that car, but what I would have done to have a Coyote 5.0 under the hood of that thing, lol. If your 6R80 performs well going forward, I know which direction I’ll be going. I’ve been subscribed for a little bit and look forward to watching the journey with you and your car. Good luck and Godspeed!

@@Crodgers1407 the Mac valve for my boost controller is a 4 port. So I can manipulate up to 4 times spring pressure without the use of compression air.
If I had a 3 port I could have a range of double the wastegate spring pressure.
Curious what mac valve you have for the boost controller. And where I can get the compressed air setup.
Most people do a 3 port and compressed air because it allows for better resolution when dealing with turbo duty cycles. I’m curious if I can do the 4 port and compressed air also but I’ll have to ask my tuner about that. Unless you know
