Jimmy Briens in Killarney is the best pint of Guinness I've ever had in 25 years. Hard to believe all pubs take in the same product, and the variation in what can be served. Jimmy Brien take a bow
Keep the drones shots going mate, pints are looking fresh. Great content. Think you just flip a coin to decide which end of the scale to start drinkinkg pints from
The ice cream effect is something I always try to explain to people aswell, Guinness has a slight vanilla/honey taste and when the gear is creamy as and the temp is just right it reminds you of ice cream
I actually thought you were gonna pull your pants down describing your pint at Jimmy Brien's, that's how well you described it!!!! One of the all time moments from the Guinness Guru ....
Been following you for a couple years now from Texas and the videos are always bang on, pal. There are many imitators out there and they've all tried to do what you do but can't. Keep the content up, and the pints flowing!
Reidys is only open a few years. Was built to look old. The front used to be a little sweet shop ran by and old couple that had a couple of taps. But essentially reidys is a money machine super pub. You should have gone to Courtney's. That's a proper old pub with zero pretention
As a tourist we always spend time in Killarney(it’s my wife’s favorite place). I’ve had a couple of these pubs on my list, but I think I can remove them now, lol. We usually end up at Tatler Jack because we stay upstairs, but I’m looking forward to hitting up a couple of these come November. Thanks!
Don’t get why Islands edge was released at a time when Guinness is probably more popular than its ever been. As the Guru said 10 years they might have had a chance but not now. Can’t see it lasting too long.
Loving the drone shots. Always a good idea to give a quick overview (pardon the pun) of a place. There’s a completely different look on your face when you get one of those special pints.
the way your eyes closed on your 2nd slurp in Jimmy Brien's, as my friend would say "you're drinking a pint of mothers milk" That pint looked devine lad 😋😋
Just been over for the weekend, have to say Jimmy Brien’s was a little underwhelming considering how highly it’s rated, not a bad pint in there but the best we had was at The Laune, bit quieter but a very friendly pub and the Guinness was sublime
As an Irish American who is very much into his Irish heritage and has been to about 370 Irish pubs in America and Ireland, the best pint of guinness I've ever had is Gravediggers in Dublin. Have had many in my times in Ireland and we have a great pub in Tampa, Fl. called Four Green Fields known for the best pint in America but hands down its Gravediggers overall. Guru would you agree with that? Think you would!
If you're ever in NYC, check out Mona's on Ave B between 13th and 14th streets for a cheap Guinness or Swift's on e 4th st for an expensive pint- both are great.
So did you circle back to Jimmy Brien’s for another or when you’ve had near perfection do you just savor the memory and keep moving forward? I swear your eyes narrow or close altogether when you get those special creamers. Good gear!! Keep em coming.
Yo Mr guiness guru.... love this big fan man lol u tried the guiness cold coffe beer plus would love to journey to the Ireland to meet up for a pint in the gravediggaz. I've been on the guiness since I went gray hound racing wiv my dad since age 14 he used to get me a half to every pint he had lol while we waited for his dogs to loose most of the time but yes I love the guiness since 1994 on the old school pumps
Great video once again ..pints seem incredible..I can nearly know what your score be by your expressions .I had said 9.1 for o briens... congratulations on doing the walk and raising the money and awareness 👏by the way..when are you heading to tipp..
I think sometimes people recommend the pub rather than the pint for these. Reidy’s is a great pub and maybe the front bar is better but 7.6 is very, very generous.
Jimmy Brien's is better pint then gravediggers taffs in Galway would challenge any of them too. A dub is always gonna put dub no. 1 Jimmy Brien's pint was better then a 9.0
My review on cold brew coffee beer is awesome gear from the can...good blast of caffeine also with all aromas and taste as it says on the tin ...it's addictive gear love it best thing from guiness since guiness for me....
@guinnessguru this is gonna sound mad So I was a mulligans regular for 5 years before moving abroad. I’ve tended bar for 25 years and here’s the thing. Last time I was home ( only place i drink the gravy )and it may have been the sauce but THE BEST pints seems to be heavier in the hand. I know it’s mad but I’m bringing a digital scale home for Xmas
As an American that has been thru Killarney 3 out of my 8 trips to Ireland, I can find the touristy shite like the Danny Mann if I want to, but an auld lad pointed me to Jimmy Briens last trip and it's lovely. Even in the masses of tour busses, Killarney has plenty of good Irish craic to be had.
I agree Daza who the hell voted these in the top 5. Jimmys is by far the best pint in Killy. Also I think people are voting for the style of the pubs instead of the G……
i'm sitting here watching BT's 21/22 full year results to try and work out if my bonus is gonna be any good when i see this video drop. fuck all that, it's time to see some creamy pints - the bonus calculation can wait!
I think yir scoring is bang on. I swear on me life, I guessed 7.6 on that last pint from your first sip. Your scoring system is the real deal. Trust your own judgement, you are the guru after all. Slainté
The gravediggers is polar opposite in taste to a pint that has the "ice cream effect". The gravediggers is actually quite a bitter pint any time I have been there.
@@mchammer1982 I was at The Gravediggers in March. They were the creamiest pints of Guinness that I’ve ever tasted. Even Wifey indulged in slurppage I’ve been drinking Guinness for over 35 years, mainly crappy U.K. ‘Guinness-almost’. I’m looking forward to going back to Killarney & committing many acts of slurppage in some newly spotted dens of domeage & sojourns of shtickery. Slainte 👍🏻
@@northernhardcore.7899 And what other pubs have you had Guinness in Ireland? If you are normally just drinking in the UK then the gravediggers will no doubt be a step up - while it may be creamy it is still too bitter for my taste and really does not have the "ice cream effect" - if you walk about 15 minutes into phibsboro you will find a pub called "the hut" that has far far tastier guinness.
Do you ever find yourself drinking a pint of Guinness on your own watching a man talking about drinking pints of Guinness on his own?
Often. :D
I am now
Me too
Its oddly satisfying
I'm sure it makes the pint of Guinness oot the can in me jewellery cleaner taste better watching the guru supp the real deal.

Just started my Guinness journey, if I can ever make it to Ireland I'll have to go, would keep clear of the tourist traps as well
You should create an app. A database of all your scores and pubs visited. A Cream Neason tshirt too 😄.

Jes that first slug in Jimmy Brien's looked fantastic. €4:60 outstanding

I was in Dublin a few weeks ago and when discussing the Guinness 0% with the barman, he said it was outselling Islands Edge by about 10-1

Jack C's Bar. You missed the best Guinness in Killarney. Family run constantly flowing. From a Killarney man. Old school bar 👍
They play great music in Killarney pubs.....The Beatles...The Animals...and The Coral, great band from the 90s
Have you ever considered attempting yo find a decent pint in Wales? I'm still searching....
I love it in Killarney, going back there in Sept !!!
That Jimmy Brien’s pint looked perfect!
The Jimmy briens pint looked the bollocks . Hoping to try plenty on the Galway review in August when I’m over to see family . Keep up the good work
Went to Jimmy Briens last night after watching this... You weren't wrong chief.... unbelievable pint.
Drone shots add to it and a good look at the inside of the pub is interesting for me anyway.
Amazing how walls and window frames match the head colour perfect in first few pubs lol

If you get a chance to come down to clondalkin there is 6 six pubs around here that I think have a great pint. I can show you around.
What was the song playing in Jimmy Briens when he was scoring it?
House of the Rising Sun
Jimmy OBrians Killarney…..We will be staying in Killarney in May so looking forward to trying the Guinness
Congratulations on 40K
Jimmy Brien’s Bar has their draft system dialed in big time not an easy task
and with CCR playing what’s not to like
My mums great grandmother was from region of Kilkenny Ireland.
Haha there is a big islands edge sign behind you while your talking about it lol love it
Some quality pints there! Thanks for sharing
FIRST PLACE i drank Guinness was killarney about 30 years ago,and i was addicted was a small little pub and toilet out back like little sitting room
So did you circle back to Jimmy Brien’s for another or when you’ve had near perfection do you just savor the memory and keep moving forward? I swear your eyes narrow or close altogether when you get those special creamers. Good gear!! Keep em coming.
my guess with requests is factoring - older places and who would go to them- good bars might not be on social media.

I'm surprised no one suggested Murphy's...I was down a few times doing pub crawls and found the Guinness in there was super tasty
A stuffing snackbox after the 5 pints is what u needed famous in Killarney
Let me know if you can do the best Guinness in Boston 😅
Did the man that popped in the vid recommend O'Sheas pub? I wanna hit that up when I come over in October

Ship sailed for the hair 😂😂 Saying that I wouldn’t have it back to be honest 😂😂😂😂
In the background, there is the red poster that says 'pints?' Any idea where I can get one of these? 😍
Drone shots were cool!

Check out Lady Belle in Dungarvan , amazing pint
Just in Jimmy’s for a few 9/10 pints, was banging.
I would have stayed in Jimmy O'Brians ....looks like an awesome pint
Will be back in Killarney in a couple of weeks ...
Jimmy obriens here i come !!!!
I’ve watched so many of your videos now that I’m starting to guess the score just by your comments!
Every Guinness drinker knows what you mean when you say the ice cream effect
A 9 ! Bloody hell I was wondering if you were going to score it the highest yet
