      Thanks! Years of shooting sports helps with anticipating the action. But also when it's a camp like this and you can see most of the drills they're running, you can predict what's coming a little easier.

    Excellent video! Really well done. Your well spoken and direct with your information. I just purchased the lens with the intention of shooting sports videos and weddings. Haven’t shot either yet but it’s coming. Not a lot of content as far as using it for video so I plan to shoot some myself but you were spot on to make this video. Good luck. I subscribed.

    That ball tracking is crazy good! Autofocus between the QB and WR even way down field felt really smooth, so that's reassuring. Just bought one of these to replace my Tamron 70-180 on my a7S III, as I found quite a bit of micro jitters at the last event I shot. Mainly got it for event coverage (photo & video) and weddings (video only), but plan to use it for motocross and maybe music videos, even though my Sigma 24-70 is my go-to for that. lol Definitely glad I went with the OSS II over the first version, because this thing is super light.

      Thanks man. Yep. Really manageable weight wise for long shooting periods which is nice. And the image is just so sharp. I shoot through the EVF tracking the ball and my head acts as another point of stability. Probably looks weird but it gets the job done.

    Awesome ball tracking!!! Im looking to invest in a 70-200. How does the f/4 hold up for night football video? Would you stick with the f4 or recommend f2.8? Thanks.

      I haven't used the f/4 for night video, but if you're in autofocus I imagine it would hunt a bit if you're trying to track the ball. I'd probably shoot manual for that, even with the 2.8 with a ball vs the night sky. But during the day, the f/4 also tracks really well paired with the newer Sony bodies.

      Thanks! I used a Sigma 85 DG DN for myself. Think it was around f/2 with a PolarPro VND.

      Yes this was shot handheld. No shoulder mount or anything. I shoot throught he EVF and use my head as another point of stabilization.

    Your video, handheld or monopod?

    • @ChrisHagan
      @ChrisHagan Рік тому +1

      Handheld. I use the EVF to my eye as an extra point of contact to help keep the camera steady and make sure I'm nailing focus.
