Epic is providing a platform to the young to understand various aspects of life and livelihood. It's truly a blessing the muslims in Dallas have organized such a formative environment. I feel there will be many many successful and Nobel people coming out having benefited from this community
For those criticising Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), there are many benefits for our Muslim youth and even adults to train this (health, discipline, humility, self-defence, self- confidence, respect of boundaries from others etc, etc). The three core elements consist of striking, takedowns and submission grappling (e.g. Jiu Jitsu) and can be trained in a halal way without having to compete and even without having to strike people in the face. Especially if you’re focussing on training the takedown and grappling elements. Having trained Jiu Jitsu for a few years in a gym alongside several Muslim brothers, I found the environment to be very positive. Alhamdullilah, alongside praying together, training together also brings the feeling of ummah alive for me!
So I agree with you . But if you are hitting someone in a ring to gain money and “respect” than you forgot the real Islam. I trained taekwondo for many years and unless it is in a heavily padded fight ( helmets , mouth guard etc ) it is haram my friend.
Jiu jitsu is good . There are no fave strikes and you can tap if your getting hurt but that UFC MMA stuff is brutal
@@faizanm4100 on point, I’m quite sure we’re in agreement :)
@@faizanm4100 iv done jiu jitsu you are lying now that is haram
Jiu jitsu is very deadly I was forced to choke someone and that person that i choked got on a ventilator becuase of jiu jitsu
Sparring for fitness and skill elevation is not haram my brother . Your opponent should have tapped out . I see a lot of people not tap cuz they feel like it would be a a “loss” . Tap and don’t get on the ventilator maybe !
We were fearless warriors, Khalifhas n university makers.... Now!!!!
So try it again...learn.
Proud of you 👏
Masa Allah. I,m from India full support.
I am also from India and fully support the USA muslim efforts. Masaallah❤❤❤
I guess no one actually watched the video. The brother says his goal for teaching MMA is to help people become more resilient. He's not trying to recruit for the UFC.
Learning MMA, which only involves sparring not going 100%, is a much more useful skill to learn then playing soccer or (lol) cricket.
Unpopular opinion and this directed at the leadership at the masjid: why are you encouraging young children to compete at who can make their opponent the bloodiest for entertainment?
This isn't a noble sport. It's a blood sport. This is fighting for the sake of fighting.
On top of this, the brother admits to young children that he hid the sport from his parents and then broke the rules and entered his first fight before the legal age.
What am I missing here, EPIC?
MMA is very different than the martial arts we put our kids in that can develop character stamina and fitness. MMA is real fighting and assault for entertainment and possibly gambling.
I absolutely agree with you, It would’ve been fine with me if he taught the youth wrestling moves and had matches between them

The martial arts are actually very beneficial for our kids in so many ways. As a teacher in a university, I can always pick out which kids did martial arts. They're calm, respectful, focused; in good shape mentally and physically. Add that to being Muslim subhaana Allah!
And, it looks good on a CV.
He's not doing that kind of martial arts. His fighting is lethal and bloody. It's for defense sure but those "fighters" do it for fun, entertainment and money.
@@onefineday9266 heeeere we go..... He literally just explained basically what I'd said above. I think we should all learn to look at ourselves first (and NONE of us is perfect) and stop all the harmful finger pointing which is really, in fact, back-biting.
You fall so easily into the divide and conquer plan of the West. Why not instead, encourage and build each other up, be positive and warm towards our brothers and sisters?
Everything is being written.
@@onefineday9266 I forgot to mention the Russian, khabib Nurmagovedov. The good he's done way outweighs what most of us will do in a lifetime.
Okay I m confused.
So. Much hate n the comments, Most Muslims don't even come to the masjid until Ramadan because the focus is on their kids college plans and career goals as well as their own,so let's stop with the haram and halal n the Masjid, ,
So that's the example you bring up for Muslim youth ? A guy showing his awra and posting music in his videos ? This is how they will become like Abu Bakr and Umar ?!
Brother i agree he shouldnt do that but a few sahabas knew how to box and fight but showing yoour awra and posting with music is bad
@@mabidg Yes brother you are right jazakaLlahu khayr we should know how to box and fight, may Allah reward you. But we should still do it in accordance to Islamic limits, the ones Allah put. May Allah give you Jannah akhi
So much hate in the comment first of all for those who are critsising UFC and Boxing I have a to say a few things first If boxing is haram how come wrestling is sunnah and how come ufc is haram you know Umar (ra) knew how to box and wrestle if your critisizing UFC or Boxing then you are critisizing Umar (ra)
and muslims today always send their smart children in school and send their not smart children in hifz. And plus Muslims dont even go to the masjid unless friday or Ramadan or Eid
So MMA fighting let’s talk about it. It’s haram. Hitting someone for money and fame is not allowed . I know unpopular opinion but it’s the truth. Martial Arts to protect self and family and fitness is actually good. I think we need to distinguish this.
You know we made everything halal now smh
ye we did
Fighting is absolutely haram, why do we have like these people teaching the youth? Absolutely a discrage astaghfirullah. It is HARAM to play this SPORT!
Boxing is haram for the following reasons: 1- it involves attacking the face; 2- it is a waste of time; 3- it is a harmful sport; 4- it involves wasting money; 5- it has become an excuse for tribalism and nationalism; and 6- it involves uncovering the 'awrah.
I am telling you he is a fake fighter, he must be a professional motivational speaker.
@onefineday9266 i agree that boxing and ufc is like very brutal they should lower the moves a bit
