Thank you so much, very interesting. I grew up in Jamaica and did experience one or two very mild tremors. The geography is really interesting. We were always reminded in school as children about the earthquake which caused part of the island the breakaway near Port Royal. Very well illustrated!
I used to live in the Dominican Republic, I experienced an earthquake in 1980, as a kid it happened in the morning around 6:30am my bed started to go back and forth. It was 5.6 magnitude scale. After it lasted 15 seconds. All the dogs in the neighborhood were barking, I mean ALL of them. You can hear the dogs from miles.
At 1:32 she mentions the Atlantic Oceanic plate. Am I missing something? I know its a giant oceanic plate to the east...but isn't it the North American plate?
What is the boundary type of caribbean and cocos plate? Is it convergent, divergent or transform boundary? I really need an answer for my modules asap😭
I'm surprised no one got back to you in the last 2 years, but that Cocos plate and Caribbean plate boundary is a convergent plate boundary because the Cocos plate is subducting under the Caribbean plate. That is the reason for the volcanoes running through western Central America.
Very well done you're the only video I can find for Caribbean faults
Well presented, love the background music, feel like I needed a rum cocktail while watching. 😊

Great content! I loved the image for earthquake dept, which gave me a much better understanding of the hole system. Kudos!
