I think thats because he doesn't seem to be a natural public speaker, and he doesn't have to be! He's speaking out because he has something important to say, not because he loves speaking in public or writing arguments. He didn't ask for his position, but he's doing something with it.

Totally agree. That is how the law should be . An innocent should not be able to be convicted. Rather a guilty going free. Today though, it is the total opposite! It is an injustice system rather than the other way around.

He didn’t mention this but the real perpetrator went on to murder a schoolteacher with two children. If any one of the people in the “justice system” would’ve stopped and done the right thing, they could’ve caught the ACTUAL perpetrator and prevented this woman from being murdered. They literally cost this woman her life in addition to everything they stole from Jeffrey and his family.

"Deskovic was exonerated and released in 2006. He has become an advocate for criminal justice reform. In 2014 a jury found in favor of Deskovic and awarded him $41.6 million in a federal civil suit against the county for wrongful imprisonment. Due to his pretrial settlement with the county, Deskovic was limited to receive $10 million. He has set up a foundation to work for reform."(WIKI) can any one explaine this why he didnt get the all 41 million ?????

It’s truly heartbreaking to see the innocent get sentenced and see the one who actually committed the crime go free. What happened to wanting to keep the bad off the street. It’s all a money grab and it makes me sick.

Im in Prison for 40years with 2 life terms. Wrongful Convicted. DA ran the DNA on me & it came Negative with none of my DNA but still convicted me for a Murder. But it was not a Murder it was a suicide by accidental discharge. All the evidences pointed too self inflicted Wound. But DA didnt want too show the jury the truth. Now all my Appeals our exhausted. I dont know what too do. Please Someone Help Me🙏

I have a friend in same situation. charged w murder for a suicide. Ive been desperately trying to find help. just anyone to represent her in court short of me going to law school and getting licensed to do so.... Ive hit roadblock after roadblock. Either they don't take murder cases, or they are extremely backlogged.
The only hope I hold is for more lawyers to take on pro bono cases. If every lawyer just took on 2 a year, there would be no backlog.
Also, if our elected officials aren't keeping checks and balances on a corrupt system of justice, they too...or their family and friends could someday end up in the same situation.

Jeffrey Deskovic would have to be a foremost expert on estimating the percentage of wrongful convictions. At time 14:20 he estimates between 15 to 20 percent. This would be a minimum and this is only for those who are convicted.
Sexual crime is a category of crime that is the highest for wrongful convictions. This happens mostly to men from female accusers.
Heterosexual male false accusers are rare.
Jeffrey Deskovic estimates between 15 to 20 percent of convictions are wrong. He doesn't mention the overall number of women who falsely accuse.

The worst consequences of "convicting" the innocent fall on the general public. The folks of Peekskill and Westchester County were quite right to be afraid for their wives and children. But there was that 16 year interval when these folks supposed they could relax their vigilance, while in fact the actual killer walked free among them. Finally, ultimately, confidence in those who "serve and protect" in Westchester County has disintegrated to "When seconds count the cops are only minutes away." and "Mom and Pop ARE the family's first responders." Any pretense of "Mr. Policeman is your friend. " is a forgotten relic of a bygone century 😂 .

Any money awarded for a wrongful conviction, put 10 percent in the incentive program. the more cases overturned and the ppl responsible for the conviction still be not outside statue of limitations..the closer we can get to recent cases and somehow stop the corruption. If they're never held accountable, and the ppl above them never held accountable- it wil NEVER STOP.
