As for the saving him part. There are some unspoken laws in warfare. In this case, if a battleship is sinking, you are not allowed to harm or kill the survivors whilst they are in the water. Same with a dog fight. If a jet is shot down and the pilot is alive and parachuting down, enemy pilots are not allowed to kill him on the ground or whilst going down. It's not an official law but more in the sense of dignity in war. A fair fight, like the song "No bullets fly". There is no honor is shooting down a plane with no defenses.

@@thesolidsalad7338 It did, BUT they were stupid enough to send it right into the Atlantic, with no supplies they could get and that alone. That she sunk was all one big human mistake consisting out of one wrong decision after another.
The band is Swedish, and yes that is their thing, they do history inspired songs, i personally love how they fuse together historical context and good music, like, the songs have enough historical context to make you interested in the topic they are singing about and research it yourself, but at the same time not too much raw historical data, it is a song after all not a timeline. That combination is working perfectly imo, from their songs i've learned about many historical events and figures i didn't know about before. Oh, as for the video, it is so amazing because this clip was made in cooperation with Wargaming, a game company making a game called World of Warships, that is why the ship models look so beautiful.
They do have the odd non-history original song and do covers of other metal songs, but it is 90% history songs. Some find them cringey, disrespectful, or whitewashes of the songs protaganists(a few songs told from WW2 Germany's pov are especially controversial), I can see why people think that way but I view them as a tribute to history as whole. They tend to choose events of heroism, valour, or importance to history with little regard for the greater context(although Sweden is more heavily focused for obvious reasons). They aren't a good teaching tool due to bias and oversimplification but certainly make you aware of tales you otherwise may have missed.
Only lately they have been slacking the newest songs they have come out with. Normally they have unique lyrics, but the 3 newest songs they come out with always has the lyric "their legend will live on" in some form, true, it will, but the line is becoming unoriginal.
It's not even about the shot tho, everyone back then was litterally shitting themselves when rumors about the ship being built hit Britain, the ship was designed to the the battleship of battleships.
@lazar tazar Yes, there were more ships but they didn't take part on the final fight due low fuel and had to go back to England, even an Ark Royal's Swordfish attack managed to inflict minimal damage to the Bismarck.

It bugs the shit out of me that he missed the dedication in the last few seconds of the video, which would have explained the theme of the video for him, so here it is: "War knows no nation. This video is dedicated to those who fought to the bitter end in the Battle of the Atlantic." Also, in-case it wasn't obvious, the tugboat captain is the young sailor who survived the sinking of the Bismark, the coordinates written into the silver pocket watch he carries are the (apparent) rough latitude-longitude of the Bismark's wreck. 'Kriegsmarine' is the name of the German Navy during World War II, of which the Bismark was the flagship; most ships are referred to as female, Bismark was the only battleship in history to be specifically referred-to as male, hence, 'king of the ocean'. As a side note, it would be interesting to see him react to Sabaton's new album, "The Great War", which revolves entirely around World War I.
You would have been far more equipment to make a reaction video friend. This was the laziest reaction video I think I've ever seen. He didn't even research before making a video about the subject. I appreciate your dedication to the fine tunings of this song. 👍
While the Bismarck class Ships surely where the "biggest" the Nazis did build the Bismarck wasnt the "flagship". The "Panzerkreuzer Admiral Graf Spee" was the Flagshipt till the "Gneisenau" (Scharnhorst Class) was done in 1938. The Gneisenau was destroyed 1942 in a Bombing Raid. Normally every Ammunition had to be cleared of the Ship during Docking. But because the shi pwas deemed "slightly damaged by a Mine" and meant to only be 2 Weeks in the Dock they didnt. When a Bomb hit the Deck it broke through to the Ammunition Storage. And i think the Admiral Graf Spee Story is well known. Battled 3 British Ships, heavily damaged in Uruguay and only 72 Hours for Repairs. Because of misinformation the Captain decided to sink the ship rather than to fight. He thought the where more British Ships now waiting. Oh while we are at it. The Bismarck wasnt the biggest Ship build by the Germans during the War. The Tirpitz (also Bismarck Class ship) got so much modifications that it was 1200 tons heavier than the Bismarck and that is actually the "biggest" ship they build. Same could be said about the Myth of "Bismarck was the heaviest armed shp of the Kriegsmarine" ... nope the Tirpitz had the same till one "upgrade" where it got 4 Torpedo Launchers .... so it was heavier armed at that point.
Teacher: “today we are learning about the Bismarck.” Me: 😱 Teacher: “who here knows about the Battleship?” Most classmates: (remains Silent) The few who do: “start the music!”
This is called " History Teacher Reacts" and he knows nothing about the battle of the Atlantic, the ship, the topic or the band. Is this the way he prepares his lessons? Makes me realize a lot about the U.S. school system.
Medley3000 Most of history education in the United States from elementary to high school is based on U.S history. The Bismarck had little U.S involvement in of itself, so it’s pretty understandable.
A few cool little tidbits: The Bismarck is referred to with male pronouns in the song exactly as he was in real life, because his captain insisted such a powerful warship could not be referred to as a lady. The orientation of her guns in the video is true to how they were when Bismarck was sunk in real life. All the battle damage she sustained was historically accurate as well. The Swordfish biplanes that damaged her are also a fun fact: being outdated WW1 era planes also meant the advanced targeting systems of the Bismarck's anti aircraft guns were unable to track the slower planes since they were designed to shoot down faster planes. Similarly, the canvas fuselage meant any rounds that hit the planes would overpenetrate and do minimal damage to the aircraft. The radio at the start also reports on how Bismarck sunk the HMS Hood, the pride of the Royal Navy, and the subsequent British response to dedicate their fleets in the Atlantic to sinking the Bismarck
@Knasterreal1 it is unclear how the Bismarck really sank. Some say the crew detonated a bomb. Others think it was indeed the torpedo. We will never now for sure.
Also important note, while Swordfish may be considered WW1 *_era_* planes, they were not actually made in WW1. If I remember correctly, they were made in 1934.
@Knasterreal1 the torpedoes hit the Bismarck's rudder. He couldn't turn worth a damn without the rudder and it was nearly impossible to do with just the propellers
@Knasterreal1 In the final fight RN and Polish ships still launched torpedoes to Bismarck. And even if the Bismarck doesn't sunk by those torps it doesn't mean those torps not hit the ship, but caused no or minimal damage. Even the Swordfish planes hit Bismarck more than one time, BUT only the one which hit the Rudder caused anything. And even that planes pilot thinked it was uneffective until he returned to Ark Royal and got the info. (We can see his face on the video as he angry after the uneffective hit).
A lucky torpedo hit at night avoiding aa defenses meant to shoot down faster aircraft... lucky as hell. And even after more than 400 hits he was still floating

The story of the Bismarck is one of the most fascinating naval story's of ww2 in my opinion. The brittish feared the ship because of its armor, firepower and speed. Seriously treathening naval supremacy for the brittish. We know what kind of damage the gneisenau caused in the southern Atlantic. Imagine if this beast was released on merchant shipping and escort missions. Might even shifted the balance of war between the Germans and the brittish and forced the brittish on there knees. As someone who wants to study history, this kind of things fascinate me. Ps, thans for taking time reading this commend. I wish y'all a wonderful day. Sorry for some Grammer mistakes. English is my third language.
There is no feasible way that the Bismarck could have ever threatened the RN in any real capacity. They overestimated the ship's capability just because it detonated the Hood in one extremely lucky shot, and the idea of, "well, if it destroyed the Hood so easily, imagine what it could do to our merchant shipping" crept in and caused Admiral Tovey to mobilise the entire navy to stop it, when even just the King George V and Nelson with a small escort would have been more than enough. Bismarck was a beautiful ship, but had numerous design flaws, such as an outdated armour scheme and underpowered main batteries, to name a few. She actually damaged her own radar after firing a warning shot at HMS Suffolk for shadowing her, which is why Prinz Eugen was in the lead when Hood and PoW finally caught up with them. Her armour scheme proved detrimental when a shell from PoW went right through the bow and ruptured a fuel tank, and that torpedo that hit her stern during the Swordfish attack wouldn't have crippled her if the designers had taken that possibility into account; it would have been possible for her to maintain course despite the hit if she had been designed right, but alas.

She was a product of British propaganda. Bismarck served no real threat. Had she survived, Britain would have parked a fleet to remove her from the board. Tirpitz, who underwent this fate, served more of an issue, as the British fleet was stretched thin. Tirpitz could have caused some serious issues had the Kriegsmarine been able to fuel the Lonely Queen of the North. Tirpitz parking herself in an Artic convoy would have been a problem for the Soviet front.

"kinda of like a metal band" As a history teacher, I'd think you'd do a little bit of research on the band and what they do lol Don't get me wrong, I love your videos just thought it was a little humorous. And yes. Bismarck displaced 49,500 tons fully loaded and was crewed by 2,065 men. Only around 400 managed to live to abandon ship and out of them, only 114 would live, mostly due to the British abandoning the rescue effort due to a possible U-Boat sighting. One of the men picked up by the Brits died of his wounds and 5 of the 114 were picked by a U-Boat and a German trawler.
Well I wouldn't blame the British for abandoning the rescue operation given the Germans did the same thing off the coast of Africa regarding a Passenger liner where 3 Uboats were engaged in rescue operations but had to break off after the Americans decided to attack the Uboats and in turn the survivors of the Liner the lead Boat had sunk, the ships survivors were made up of British Soldiers, Italian POW's being transported and a mix of civilians including Women and Children. During the rescue operation Vichy French ships were on route to assist as were it is claimed some Nearby British Warships but ultimately due to the actions of the US Army Airforce operating from the Ascension Islands, then and now British Territory and a B24 Liberator on Patrol, the officer in charge of US Forces ordered the aircraft to attack, forcing the Germans hand... As the Germans had done to the British after the sinking of Bismark... Sadly in War there are challenges that I feel today it would be difficult to judge as we for the most part have no experience of such events on such a scale. Most who had some experience in war of that scale.. Are sadly already passed or just about too, as it currently stands I believe and I could be wrong. All original members of Easy Company as seen in Band of Brothers have sadly passed on while some of the men who joined the company after the start of combat operations as Replacements are surviving.

Jet planes weren't even in use until the end of the war and it was the ME 262. 8:45 that is something that actually occurred, after the Bismarck sank the British ship *HMS dortetshire* and other British warships rescued 111 German sailors, (one British sailor even jumping into the water in an attempt to save a German who lost his arms!) before being forced to move out due to a sighting of a German U-boat. The British even offered the Germans blankets and to eat tea and crumpets with them (if I’m right)

@@ragingsaviorkami9862 It was indeed named after Ottp Von Bismarck but I was stating what I said to help clarify that it was Terry's first impression that based on the first frame they were going to be talking about the ship and not Otto Von Bismarck. The original comment seemed to merely point out that he said "about the bismarck" when what terry truly said was "about the ship" because he said earlier "it could be a couple different things". So I was merely pointing out that the original comment was sarcastic and could be seen as snide. This was misconstrued by the commenter getting the exact wording wrong and I was merely pointing out the discrepancy in it.
the basic story to the bismarck is this, After the Bismarck was launched in 1939 the German Army kept it docked in port for a really long time until around late may 1941, the bismarck was spotted by RAF and Norwegian scouts hiding between the fjords of Norway with an escort ship the Prinz Eugen. The British then sent the HMS Prince of Wales and the HMS Hood, the pride of the British Fleet at the time. They opened fire around 6:00 AM in the Denmark strait near Greenland. The Bismarck hit the Hood on the deck exploding its ammunition and causing the ship to practically split in two, the Prince of Wales retreated soon after this due to the fact it had also sustained massive damage. After the news of the Hood's sinking Churchill told the Royal Navy that the Bismarck would be sunk at any cost. A taskforce of Six Battleships and Battlecruisers as well as two carriers, thirteen cruisers and twenty-one destroyers were a part of the chase to find the bismarck. The Bismarck had decieved the Royal Navy during the chase by making it appear as if it was heading back through the Denmark strait before British codebreakers corrected them and informed them the Bismarck was headed to Brest for repairs. The only Royal Navy warship close enough to intercept the Bismarck or at least slow it down was the Aircraft Carrier HMS Ark Royal. It eventually found itself close enough to the Bismarck and on the 26th May 1941 the Ark Royals Swordfish torpedo bombers took off to find the Bismarck. They found it manouevering away to point its front armour towards the torpedoes but the Swordfishes banked and launched the Torpedoes, only two torpedoes hit, along the stern with one destroying a rudder causing the ship to begin moving in a giant circle. The ship was now completely unaware of Admiral John Tovey's taskforce approaching and even if they did they had no way to escape. Tovey had lost most of the ships he originally had control of due to fuel shortages but still had access to the Battleships King George V and Rodney along with two heavy cruisers. They approached the ship around half 10 at night as Admiral Lütjens signalled that they would fight to the last shell and never surrender. The two battleships landed salvo after salvo on the already doomed ship, the main turrets of the Bismarck began literally blowing off the ship as there ammunition exploded causing severe flooding. The ship was now sinking at a rapid rate. Admiral Lütjens was killed after a salvo directly hit the bridge leaving the vice-admiral on board to signal Abandon Ship. The cruiser dorsetshire was then ordered by Tovey to finally sink the ship with torpedoes, the ship was stationary by this point, nearly all the cruiser's torpedoes directly hit the ship. The crew of the Bismarck frantically swam towards the cruiser with only 114 of the crew of 2,200 surving the encounter. There were around 300 more sailors left in the water due to U-boat threat that could have very easily sunk the cruiser carrying the few survivors of the Bismarck. The wreck wasn't found until 1989 by the same man which discovered the Titanic.
@@spacebory no. Recent examination confirmed that it was the scuttling that did it in and sunk it. The torpedos did such a shite job at punching a hole through the ship that they resorted to shelling his deck. It was heavily crippled (rudder and comms) by a couple of lucky swordfish planes. It was doomed, but not by another ship.
Glad to see you liked the video. Sabaton is a Swedish metal band. Around 2008 they were still kinda small, I recall that, but they kept on making amazing music and they grew big. They are pretty big. And this is what they do. They make songs about history of warfare. They also have a history vlog on their UA-cam channel or I don't know, something like that. Their most famous songs are proly about WW2, but they also make songs about heroes from different nations - the Finns and Czechoslovaks stick to me as they are kinda "my heroes", but there are songs about the US marines, the couple of men holding Ardenes, the samurai, etc..... it all seems to me like a huuuge memorial to all men and women that died fighting, whoever they were fighting. Also, speaking of women, Night Witches is a blast! About the russian female bomber regiment. Love it. Plus their songs as metal songs make us fans feel the glory and strength of the war machinery. Like the Bismarck!
Same thoughts exactly. That was disappointing, I expected to learn a thing or two from this video, but seems like I know more than this guy just from attending history class in high school :P
@@SylwesterKarnuszewicz i was literally thinking "oh wow i bet he'll pause it every 30 seconds to tell us about something interesting or random about something on the ship or the story or the war itself this will be so interesting!". Sure, the RN garanteed Bismark would never return to shore... but it took almost the entire RN to do it, only for it to be scuttled in the end. Forensic hull analysis showed that Dorsetshire's torpedoes didn't penetrate Bismark's inner hull.
I'm not really sure how you could do a reaction video to a song that you admit you don't know much about. Surely you would do some homework on the subject first to know the historical value of the song and story. I never liked history much in school and dropped it as an elective when I could but as an adult I got a passion for military history specifically via a passion of building models. I researched the hell out of what I was building. Books, online articles, The History Channel etc. *shrug* I believe the images of Bismarck and video came from a partnership with a company that makes video games. I forget their name though. But from memory this isn't the only video they have collaborated in. One thing that surprises me is that nobody seems to notice the significance of the pocket watch. Watch the last moments of the video again. And yes the Royal Navy did rescue survivors for as long as it was safe for them to do so. Over 100 were rescued as opposed to HMS Hood where only 4 lived to tell the story of the catastrophic sinking. I'm sure you as a teacher would advise your students to do their homework before submitting a presentation on a subject yet it feels like you went into this cold. You could do some research on the band to know who they are, what they write and sing about etc and still have a fresh unbiased opinion on the content.
I agree, going into this I thought he was going to point out key points of the music video and talk about their importance and was a bit disapointed. Especially so since the bismark is an incredibly important ship not just in terms of naval war history, but to the entirety of ww2 since, if the bismark got out into the atlantic that would have been it, the germans would have eventually pushed the british back and cut the us supply line and would have effectivley won the war. And considering the bismark sunk the hood with relative ease that assumption isn't too far off (though to be fair the hms hood was an old ship, especially around the time ww2 came around).
@@larrysucks1273 lmao that wouldn't have happened if US wanted in there's nothing german could do even if germany took england after getting the Bismarck out into the atlantic cutting of Britains supplied they would just get fucked by Usa and Ussr in the end

What people don’t understand it took the whole British navy to track it down and sink it, they dump all missions and track the Bismarck down, Bismarck destroyed the Atlantic shipping lanes, if tripitz, Bismarck sister ship was with her , the British didn’t have a chance with u-boat back up
"I don't know how you could make a song out of that." He says, even though a different song about the Bismarck ("Sink the Bismarck" by Johnny Horton) had already been written decades ago.
The pursuit of the Bismarck is considered one of the most thrilling and exciting naval operations of all times, and this video - for a music video - actually goes a surprisingly good job of telling it's story. If you listen to the radio at the start, you'll hear the commentator say how Bismarck sank the battlecruiser Hood. The first firefight you see is taken from that action, the Battle of the Denmark Straits, the Hood has been sunk, and Bismarck is exchanging gunfire with HMS Prince of Wales. The next action you see shows Swordfish biplane torpedo aircraft flying off HMS Ark Royal, attacking the Bismarck, with one torpedo slamming into her stern. This torpedo was the battleship's nemesis, jamming her steering gear and leaving her uncontrollable. The final firefight is when the British finally sank the German battleship, including the torpedoes being launched from the cruiser HMS Dorsetshire and hitting Bismarck, the last weapons to be fired against her. Officially this cruiser was credited with sinking the Bismarck, although this was only a technicality, as she was the last ship to hit her during the final battle. This video was all made for the song, and the ships are really accurate! Indeed, while I don't pretend to be an expert, I have studied this ship quite a lot, and I can't see anything misplaced on the ship in the video, compared to what she was like in real life. The only slight criticism I would make is in the final battle, you see a ship with four triple turrets fire at Bismarck. There were no cruisers like that in the final action. The nearest was HMS Sheffield, but she was part of Force H (along with the previously mentioned Ark Royal), and didn't take part. It would also have been nice if they had included the battleship HMS Rodney in the final battle. Her 16" guns proved to be totally devastating, with one of their shells taking out both Bismarck's main forward turrets. Still, I suspect the money involved in making this video was already nothing to sniff at, and adding Rodney would have added yet more expense.
"Alright now we're looking like a World War 2 era ship is this going to be the Bismarck?" I almost broke my desk from slamming my forehead on it at this comment. History teacher "Doesn't know a lot about the story of the Bismarck". That's because schools are too busy teaching students about ancient civilizations, that Japan grew mostly rice, and the year the cow was domesticated in. Useless information that will never come in use, while things like the story of the Bismarck actually tell a story about being too prideful, putting something too important in the way of danger where you might lose it, feeling that you need to use it rather than keep it safe. But yes school, tell me more about what a Lemon Party is.
I think he's referring to the fact that the ship was named after Otto Von Bismarck, so there could definitely be some confusion from an outsider's perspective.
Hundred percent. I asked my History teacher what part of WW2 we are gonna learn about. She says mainly the Blitz, women at war and D Day. Seriously. I get it we are in Britain and we learn British history but WW2 wasn't just about these topics. Most people don't know who Hitler was only that he was evil. People don't know what Barbarosa was or Midway. Two very important operations of the war but we are not gonna be taught this. Luckly Google exists and I can learn on my own.
I advise you to move to Germany and visit our form of highschool, the Oberstufe. We've got a nice country and a nice educational system. Furthermore, I you'd surely want to watch more of Terrys videos. He got very in-depth knowledge about actually important parts of world history and WWII. The most important facts about the Bismarck hunt is following: The Bismarck was about to absolutely demolish British naval supply lines. It was sunk. That's it. Just an important ship of a nation without a remarkable marine being sunk. It's absolutely overrated and no reason to shame this guy. (No offense)
History teacher reacts. Also history teacher: “Ok, gotta wait for the guitar solo” “Ok, now ship is going down...” “Wow, is that how many men were on the ship?” “Long hair...yup def. a metal band” “Also, I don’t know much about this ship.” 🤣🤣🤣. No, really???
Fun fact: those plans were actually WWI fighters, not WWII, which was ultimately beneficial because the Bismarck's automated systems couldn't track such slow planes.
@@arrow_of_longing Gotta love assholes that think the bigger dick you act like the more right you are. While the planes weren't from WWI themselves they were still a WWI fighter design because part of the treaties enacted at the end of WWI prevented most military tech advancement. Which is the same reason why the HMS Hood still had 14" guns while the Bismarck (Germany blatantly ignored said treaties) had 15" guns.

Sadly there are always those who ignore those "rules" and people thinking that there are no rules in war. Soldiers are humans too, not monsters.

"We remember, in September, that's the night Vienna was freed, we made the enemy bleed!"
*Then the Hussars march by chanting;* "Storm clouds, fire and steel, death from above make their enemy kneel..."
*then, just as quickly as it had begun, the broken walks of the class reform themselves, leaving a tongue tied teacher, his bewildered class, and a surly looking metal singer standing before them. The teacher says nothing, the class is silent.*

Some find them cringey, disrespectful, or whitewashes of the songs protaganists(a few songs told from WW2 Germany's pov are especially controversial), I can see why people think that way but I view them as a tribute to history as whole. @@cherami8445 the "minimal" damage wasnt that minimal, considering how critical it was, jamming the rudder of bismarck, thus making it not ablke to reach France before Royal Navy caught up with it.
@@KoteDarasuum You are right, HMS Victorious Swordfish attack was the one that inflicted almost no damage, HMS Ark Royal's swordfish attack was actually Bismarck's fate.
It bugs the shit out of me that he missed the dedication in the last few seconds of the video, which would have explained the theme of the video for him, so here it is:
"War knows no nation. This video is dedicated to those who fought to the bitter end in the Battle of the Atlantic."
Also, in-case it wasn't obvious, the tugboat captain is the young sailor who survived the sinking of the Bismark, the coordinates written into the silver pocket watch he carries are the (apparent) rough latitude-longitude of the Bismark's wreck.
Thanks for that, have a like.
None of the survivors of Bismark's sinking are alive now, so the tugboat captain is supposed to be a son of one of them.
In german it is "die" Bismarck, female

anything very very light will do for Mr Terry History---nothing heavy or that needs deep thinking.
I chose Bismarck as my personal project because I’m obsessed with warships. They look so dang cool
It would be a dream if my history teacher thought us that
Medley3000 Most of history education in the United States from elementary to high school is based on U.S history. The Bismarck had little U.S involvement in of itself, so it’s pretty understandable.
A few cool little tidbits:
The Bismarck is referred to with male pronouns in the song exactly as he was in real life, because his captain insisted such a powerful warship could not be referred to as a lady.
@Knasterreal1 Well it cuts to different part of the battle but the Bismarck when caught was torpedoed and shot up
@Knasterreal1 it is unclear how the Bismarck really sank.

Are you from🇭🇷
There is no feasible way that the Bismarck could have ever threatened the RN in any real capacity.
@@aristosachaion_ bismarck was terror and beast . im american know lot of history. They sent bi planes sink Bismarck few torpedo hit her but most of pilots missed there target hit Bismarck. What really sunk bismarck was her stiring was distroyed during torpedo attack from the planes and cruisers . and relentless bombbardment of shelling countless hours of it. Not mention her sister ship tirpitz which was monster of ship as well
@@PilgrimjGaming US Airforce would have sunk it eventually regardless of outcomes vs Royal Navy.

Holy shit otto your back 121 years is a long time
Jack Raiden yes
the basic story to the bismarck is this,
After the Bismarck was launched in 1939 the German Army kept it docked in port for a really long time until around late may 1941, the bismarck was spotted by RAF and Norwegian scouts hiding between the fjords of Norway with an escort ship the Prinz Eugen.
The Bismark sink himself
Let me just make this clear
Bismarck sunk one ship, played tag for ten days, and then scuttled itself.
B1 739 well yes, but it scuttled itself after already being practically doomed by torpedoes
"You can't hurt it... I dunno, that singer might be able to punch a hole through it."
:D Classic.

Same thoughts exactly. That was disappointing, I expected to learn a thing or two from this video, but seems like I know more than this guy just from attending history class in high school :P

Bismarck : (destroys hood)
Royal Navy: I'm about to end this ship's whole career.
Sure, the RN garanteed Bismark would never return to shore... but it took almost the entire RN to do it, only for it to be scuttled in the end.
Forensic hull analysis showed that Dorsetshire's torpedoes didn't penetrate Bismark's inner hull.
Bismarck when completed was the most effective big gun warship in existence.

Hello there
@@US_of_A And Personell. the ijn was so much better trained
*shrug*
I believe the images of Bismarck and video came from a partnership with a company that makes video games.
@@dragonhearted7761 these is tonnes Germany could do once they took England if they took it
The full plan of the kriegsmarine would go on and they would have had the biggest and strongest navy in the world blocking any ships the uss would send while they took Russia and the battles in Africa would end to
You can kinda see England in ww2 as the last line of defence
Not a pocket watch, but a Compass. :)
Why do so many people not see Britain as being an important factor to the victory of ww2
You should react to their new song Attack of the dead men, I think it’s their best song in this album. Also all their music is based off battles, wars etc
Bismarck is a single, dude. It's not part of the Great War album.

One of my favorite songs. Back when music told stories. Same with Gordon Lightfoot - the wreck of the Edmonds Fitzgerald
Did you miss the boats they hired name "Prima Victoria" , title of one of their other WWII songs...
He doesn't know that, lmao
And its about D-DAY too :)
"Alright now we're looking like a World War 2 era ship is this going to be the Bismarck?"
I almost broke my desk from slamming my forehead on it at this comment.
Most of the stuff they teach you in school is pretty fascinating, they're just really shit at teaching it.
Furthermore, I
you'd surely want to watch more of Terrys videos.
He got very in-depth knowledge about actually important parts of world history and WWII.
The most important facts about the Bismarck hunt is following:
The Bismarck was about to absolutely demolish British naval supply lines.
It was sunk.
That's it.
Just an important ship of a nation without a remarkable marine being sunk.
It's absolutely overrated and no reason to shame this guy.
(No offense)
Yeah cause i’m gonna need to know about the bismarck in my everyday life
5:40 well yes sabaton is an extremely popular band, also I believe they were partially sponsored by world of warships for this song
I'm not sure that any money changed hands, but the makers of World of Warships worked on the CGI and some of the video for the band.
Now let's get Chieftain from Wargaming to react to a video from a cooking show! Might be more interesting!

Also history teacher:
“Ok, gotta wait for the guitar solo”
“Ok, now ship is going down...”
“Wow, is that how many men were on the ship?”
“Long hair...yup def. a metal band”
“Also, I don’t know much about this ship.” 🤣🤣🤣. No, really???
"Or are this band bigger than I thought?" Yes Terry.. yes they are.
Fun fact: those plans were actually WWI fighters, not WWII, which was ultimately beneficial because the Bismarck's automated systems couldn't track such slow planes.
And the surface area of biplanes is much smaller than the planes used in WWII, making them harder to hit.
And the fuses on the aa shells not detonating because of the canvas, but I guess you watched the military history visualized video too
Nope, actually those planes are swordfish, which where carried by the CV Ark royal
No they weren't. 1930s is not WWI. Shove your "fun" "facts" where the sun don't shine, Mr. Mount Stupid.
Yes, Sabaton is quite famous, they're from Sweden and almost every one of their song is about history. Most of their songs are about ww2, but they have just released an album about ww1 and they also have one about Carolus Rex (King Karl XII of Sweden) I would personally suggest you listen to their "Cliffs of Gallipoli" "Inmate 4859" or "Rorke's Drift"
Fun fact the old captain is the kid that gets rescued because he has the same compass and/or watch
How do you make a song about a Historic Ship .
Go back in time and ask Johnny Horton who wrote the song Sink the Bismarck . Which predates this song by at least 40 to 45 years .
The original british-made movie in early 1960s called Sink the Bismarck. Made at Pinewood Studios .
So yes there's a movie ( TO )
