Make a Stabilized Uilleann Chanter Reed w Contrabassoon Cane

Intermediate level, for those who can already make reeds. How to assemble the reed and use humid/dry-air cycling to close the reed down to the final elevation (lip opening) before scraping. Heat treat the bindings for further stabilization. Improve dull tone and resistant response caused by warping of blades (this helps any afflicted working double reed). Finished reed begins its service life as stable as if it were already extensively played-in. This method should work for any type of cane and size of reed.

It's just random tuning notes for testing ease of 2nd octave, the hard D, back D stability and bottom D gurgle potential. It's not a tune but if you can make one out of any part of it, go for it!

Went through a ten week course with na piobaire uilleann in Henrietta street Dublin but just cannot seem to produce good reeds , think I will just continue to buy them.
Great video , I would love if I could ask you some questions about each step in the reed making process, I seem to be able get it to the sanding stage easy enough but it goes pear shaped after that.

Is there a name to the tune you played, or was it improvised?
