this is the most impressive transformer ive seen on this channel yet... not just because of the size and complexity, but also because of the technical accomplishment of realizing a toy that does not officially exist and have it look so convincing and not to mention having 2 different figures of different scales and different alt modes which transform into such similar robot modes
Hearts of Steel has some really great transformer designs, and this guy was my favorite. I'm amazed someone took on the challenge of creating a toy of him.
Great review man! Damn, this is incredible. I really don't like how his left arm looks in robot mode. Looks too bulky to me, but oh well. Still an amazing figure.
Would be cool if MMC reran this figure using their modern technics. This thing is nice looking but it does have MMC's early stank all over it. They have become the best 3P company in my opinion but their early stuff does show how far they've come.
I love how much the brainmaster resembles the larger robot. The bow hand, the identical chest configuration, and the gatling gun hand as well as identical head sculpts just make them look so awesome. Oh yeah, and because the little robot goes inside Cyclops instead of forming his head makes him a brainmaster, i believe that is the correct term.
If you want to get the anchor in, try watching Peaugh or Vangelus. They have Cyclops and they have been able to get the anchor in that compartment and close up the bottom hatch without too much hassle.
I've recently become a fan of yours when I watched the train transformer knock offs you did and I will say I'm happy I found you. You are as awesome as SSJautobot.
i must correct myself balt, it was the CSS Virginia. the Merrimack was the original hull that sunk and rebuilt into the Virginia. sorry for the confusion.
ShartimusPrime the shoulder on the right arm looks really bulky. Maybe it can rotated so the gun sits on top like a turret and the front of the ship which looks like its meant for ramming could be a great addon to the right fist for smashing other transformers when they get too close for his minigun left arm. Plus the left arm with the chain under it kinda looks like a chain belt or some form of power/ammunation feeding into the minigun.
love the purple..it was released inthe usa???why havent i seen on in canada yet then oh ya we only get what doesnt sell down there..we get crumbssss ilove paying 100 out of my 300 to live on for month to have no one if i need to sell it give a dime for it and live like bum for my love of mecha.. couldnt give my 10000 robots i collected for 25 years away
They said the second release will have fixed the plastic and transformation problems, if they do make these changes like they promise, do you think the new version will be worth it?
I can see why the bow won't attach. On the back of the bow, there are a series of tabs that fit into the middle of the boat. imagine it like Movie 1/2 Deluxe bumblebee's transformation and tabbing process. Or watch Vangelus's reviews of the figure.
QC happens Balt. That'sjust the way a figure is. Also as Emgo316 once said, "Price doesn't ensure quality." All expensive means is you paid a chunk of change for it. That's why 3rd party TFs can throw ya for loops at times.
You can fix a loose ball joint by removing the socket, painting the ball with super glue (IMPORTANT: dry completely) then replace the joint. Again make sure the glue is COMPLETELY dry before putting the joint back together
Justin kai, what part looks like soundwave, it 'screams' Shockwave, and it does the exact 'opposite' in soundwaves case, so 'what' part exactly looks anything like soundwave? At all
XIXth century anchorage looks terrific in shock wave's color skin and in robot mode its defenitly shock wave's feeling ... if he where coming on XIXth century defenitly this vehicle mode fits wonderfully with him
Man he looks sooo cool! But as with most 3rd party stuff the price is just way too high. Maybe some day I might be able to pick one up. :) Great review as usual!
I'm sure due to legal issues they cannot call this figure what it really is, but this is indeed the Heart of Steel Shockwave.
Lykose Crest finally someone agrees with me
Cyclops?
It looks like a steampunk Shockwave
It is.
+TheRuneTail I agree, it is Shockwave from earlier generations is it not
Yeah, that's straight up shockwave
Yeah, that's straight up shockwave
This actually looks VERY similar to the Hearts of Steel Shockwave. tfwiki.net/wiki/File:Hearts_of_Steel_1ri.jpg

Cyclops would be a power master or brain master and the large robot would be its transtector
You mean head master?
@@NemesisPrime69 who knows what past me meant, I don't remember what I was going on about myself
I was also going to suggest Power Master
Cyclops = mini shockwave
That transformers into something better than a big gun

ShartimusPrime left as in left of the screen or the robot?
@@jackclancy2189
Stage left.
ShartimusPrime hi, I love your videos.
This is a mega Pretender!!! The mini robot merges with the larger "shell" robot and away we go from there! Thanks for the look.
Would be cool if MMC reran this figure using their modern technics. This thing is nice looking but it does have MMC's early stank all over it. They have become the best 3P company in my opinion but their early stuff does show how far they've come.
isn't this hearts of steel shockwave
+Warriorcatgamer indeed it looks like it!
yes it is. But due to Hasbro loop hole copy rights, they can't use the actual name
Yeah
Yes it is

This is my favorite video on this guys channel
When I watch Peaugh's review, his anchor fit inside that panel fine. And his figure is the same as yours.
Most container ships or cargo ships had those curve on their bow section
I wish we got an Official Hearts of Steel line
Kevin Chester Same, this is by far my favourite Shockwave design.
11:24 reminds me of shock wave from G1 or was it G2
watch peaugh´s review of this guy :) the anchor attachs and fits in its space and the rest of the figure holds together really well
One of the very first videos I watched on UA-cam
The little guy is the same exact body as the big one
because the little sub guy is the real Shockwave, and the big ship is just a giant version
Hi I appreciate all your videos, thank you.
I got Cyclops in robot mode and he aint going back into vehicle mode anytime soon.
Looks awesome. I really like how the sub's robot form is a mini version of the ship's robot form.
This is the hearts of steel confirmed
Shockwave vibes

The toy's based on Hearts of Steel Shockwave, and is up for preorder at TF Source.
Hey Baltmatrix I'd recommend a part seperator to open up the pannels
Is it me or there's no picture coming up at 0:55
I was thinking the same thing. I was waiting for the image to appear on the screen, but it never did.
wait is this heart of steel shockwave?
+Mark Nelson Yeah
apex2000 thanks
how to make
+Wade wilson In design yes, in name no.
Sangui "There's your problem" Vantas/Vanito
oh ok nice!
I love the analysis at the start.
Is this Shockwave?!
something about the design of this reminds me of that scene from "Big"..."but who wants to play with a building?"
i must correct myself balt, it was the CSS Virginia. the Merrimack was the original hull that sunk and rebuilt into the Virginia. sorry for the confusion.
And thank you for Mastermind creations👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Mastermind Cyclops head detail looks very familiar to Laserwave head from Superlink!
I meant right arm.

It's Aqua Shockwave
darrel demon reviews No shit sherlock
darrel demon reviews it is shockwave....how do you not know
I love the aesthetic of this figure but this looks like a nightmare to transform
Hard to believe the Hearts of Steel stories are canon in IDW G1 now!
I wish it wasn't so expensive
I was waiting for you to do the review of this!
This thing LOOKS BEAST
This idw heart of steel shockwave toy.
Is it shockwave, shocktrain, shockblast, or tidalwave?
It's shockwave
Like just look at the figure, it's obviously shockwave
Naval rams were actually used on 1870-1890's ironclads as guns couldn't reliably penetrate the armour of enemy ironclads.
the meramac and the monitor were the first ironclad warships build during the civil war
Even tho he’s bulky I really liked him and I kind of want him
I wonder if Balt has tested to see if it actually floats
They said the second release will have fixed the plastic and transformation problems, if they do make these changes like they promise, do you think the new version will be worth it?
Hey spade can you show off your storage area so we can see as viewers how many and what kind of figures you have? Thanks
a decepticon
nice review
Cool figure! Would love to see more transformers of historical vessels and vehicles. Similar to how ROTF Ransack resembles a canvas biplane.
The CSS macon was a Wooden hull Steam Gunboat, that was the Confederate Ironclad CSS Nashville.
I can see why the bow won't attach. On the back of the bow, there are a series of tabs that fit into the middle of the boat. imagine it like Movie 1/2 Deluxe bumblebee's transformation and tabbing process. Or watch Vangelus's reviews of the figure.

It looks like shockwave
Cyclopes;shockwave on steroids
Hey mason hows reznov?
Ah yes cyclopes
It would be so scary if this was how shockwave looked in the movie.
Oh and GIANT SHOCKWAVE!!
U guys do know someone made a comic that recreates all the transformers into an 1900 style and cyclops is shockwave
I wonder how this figure has held up after 7 years
it looks like shockwave from the hearts of steel mini-series where it scans a boat exactly like that. I could be wrong but it looks like it
week plastic joins are one of the reasons I miss diecast metal
i played the first part of this for social studies lol
This kind of looks like Shockwave if he was in the 1800's
thats the point "knight morphers" are tformers with an older twist
@@nitrous146 actually that's cause it's the heart's of steel shockwave
that's shockwave, no doubt
Asura Izumi ikr
its shockwave from hearts of steel
Last time I checked the first ironclad ship(s) was the Merrimack and Maryland
The "ball and chain" is called a morning. Star
0:51 The screen is missing the image... =(
You forgot to show the picture of the first ship on the left
it was editing errors he said so
Hahaha
You can fix a loose ball joint by removing the socket, painting the ball with super glue (IMPORTANT: dry completely) then replace the joint. Again make sure the glue is COMPLETELY dry before putting the joint back together
the heads for both the figures look like shockwave
I think it would have been cool if the anchor could have attached to the side of the waist, Big O style
The sub in robot mode looks like Shockwave 😍😍
Justin kai, what part looks like soundwave, it 'screams' Shockwave, and it does the exact 'opposite' in soundwaves case, so 'what' part exactly looks anything like soundwave? At all
If anyone wants an boat shockwave than this is the figure to get!
8:45 Why does your turntable have an audio jack in it? xDDD I am hilarious.
looks like a megaman boss
You could put him in both modes next to Tidal Wave
Where do you suggest a Decepticon insignia be placed? I want it on robot mode only.
How is his size compared to Armada Unicron?
Is it an atoubot or decepticon???
Chain and anchor do fit. Takes a minor feat of engineering to do it though.
If i saw a motion picture animation with the sub falling out in water I would watch it
due to copyright laws Mastermind creations had to call it Cyclops since its not an official "transformer"
XIXth century anchorage looks terrific in shock wave's color skin and in robot mode its defenitly shock wave's feeling ... if he where coming on XIXth century defenitly this vehicle mode fits wonderfully with him
where can you get this guy, or is that the only one?
That model is the one used for shockwave in idw hearts of steel
Shockwave has never scaeed me more
Where the heck is the photo?
the "thrusters" are propellers and lol the big ship gave birth to a tiny shockwave
Man he looks sooo cool! But as with most 3rd party stuff the price is just way too high. Maybe some day I might be able to pick one up. :) Great review as usual!
Are you jang bricks??
I'm confused i thought this toy was called shock wave?
12:04 = Complex is a slight understatement
