  • Shonchalai Oorjak-Choodu, a female throat-singer from Republic of Tyva.
As she says: "I sing and perform khöömei as long as I remember myself". She was born and raised up in musically talented family in Western Tyva. She used to be a member of "Tyva kyzy" ensemble. Now she is in "Tyva" ensemble, the legendary band in Tuvan music history where all famous throat-singers came from.

I can't understand why this video (and your others) aren't more popular. She's fantastic!

I found out about throat singing courtesy of my guitar teacher. As for Queen, well I've been a fan of theirs since I was about 6, and I saw Queen + Paul Rodgers in 2008 (although my mum got to go and see the original lineup back in 1975, and one of the guys at work was at their Wembley gig).

Thank you for sharing this. Super authentic feel. I love these videos of someone just out on their own in the open of Tuva, singing.

Hello, Sharanur! I'm from Taiwan, on 2018 I had fortune to join her throat singing workshop, and since that, I'm practice by myself. Now I feel ready to have more instruction of the throat singing and really planning to go to Tuva this year 2020, Do you know about her contact of she and her husband if they have a school in Tuva, or just email address, please?
I do really appreciated for your help! and wish you a wonderful 2020 our good wishes comes true.........

It's an informal spelling of 'Damn', in this context supposed to convey wonder/amazement/being impressed. :-]
