  • The main control board of the old washer in this home failed and I needed to get a new one fast. I decided to buy an LG model since that is what I have in my personal home and it has been great!
Here are links to the washing machine on Home Depot and Lowes websites.

Normal Cycle is only for loads that are 4 pounds or less. Use HOT water on normal cycle and make sure the closest faucets to this washer are running hot water through the faucet so you get warm water on the hot mode in normal cycle. It does weigh your clothes but only washes them for 15 minutes and the rinse cycle is 3 minutes long; the spin will be 15 minutes and the total length with water fills is like 45 minutes. Use heavy-duty cycle (one hour 40 minutes) or deep wash (55 minutes) for most loads. Wash in warm or hot water. Use 1 tablespoon of powder detergent on the normal cycle. Use 2 tablespoons or 4 TBL. on heavy duty and deep wash. Always use laundry sanitizer in the fabric softener dispenser. Run the tub cleaning cycle monthly with Affresh or bleach or Lemi Shine. Lastly, plug it into a power strip with a power off button and plug that into a power surge protector. When done doing your loads for the day, turn off the power strip to protect the electronics from a power surge, power outage, or lightning. When not in use, keep the lid OPEN and remove the detergent tray to air it out. Wash the towels on heavy duty, hot water. Tide powder detergent is best for this machine (all the Tide powder laundry detergent work in this machine). Avoid laundry liquids and pods. Don't use fabric softener. It's a good basic machine that does clean well if you learn all of its' little weird ways. 12-14 pounds of laundry is the maximum you should put in one load. One to Four pounds of laundry is what works best in the normal cycle.

I just got this model a week ago as my old kenmore died. It will save me a ton in water as it senses the load and my old washer wasted so much water. Less water means the machine will cleans your clothes much better. Great review.

It senses the load. When you turn it on, the rocking back and forth is the process of the machine sensing the load to determine how much water to use. You can see this in the video from about 3:20 - 4:20. I hope this helps. :)

    • @mkccventuresllc

First of all, If you are using gel packs or tablets, they should be placed in the bottom of the washer BEFORE adding the clothes and you should only use 1 per load. That is a suttle instruction that is often overlooked in the user manual. If you are using liquid detergent, then leave the blue parts in the right side in place, the if you are using powdered detergent then removed the Liquid Detergent Cup AND Insert. (i,e,, both blue parts on the right side). HTH

I received my washer today, I started a load and watched it fill water and wash but…. There was not enough water… 🤔 I messed with it to try and add some water then shut it off. And now… It won’t start. I’ve tried restarting, unplug, Re-plugged… no nothing… just a bunch of lights come on and that’s all it does. What else can I do besides returning it?

Thanks for your brief review. Mine just arrived and did my first few loads. The agitator does not really move the clothes enough imo. the repetitive rotation is not complete enough to pull in the outer clothes to the inside and vice versa so the clothes near the drum does not get enough agitation imo. I'm having to wash things twice and in between redistribute the clothes manually. Not nearly as efficient as my older model (different brand) with a very strong agitation. I'll try more settings but if i cannot get a better clean, then I may consider returning it.

@@tmishalynn Hi Misha, they installed my washer incorrectly so i had to remove the hoses to the water outlets and correct that. So first check the hoses on your machine if water is not coming out. But besides that, there is no way to soak your clothes like with the older models. If you pause your machine, when it restarts it adds more water and dilutes your detergent each time. i would not recommend this washer in my experience. Sorry i purchased it.

I would not advise it. I suspect that if you tried that it may try to wash your clothes but when it wants to add a water and can't the sensors will detect this and then throw an error code. It is designed to have the water connected, turned on and water pressure between 20 and 120psi. HTH

Normal cycle is only for one to four pounds maximum of laundry. Always use the hot water mode temperature for this cycle because it mixes in cold with hot, and you'll get warm water. If you choose warm water, your water temperature will be below 85 degrees Fahrenheit and that's cold.

Just installed it and already having problems: I press Smart Diagnosis and all the lights of the wheel light up. I can't get it to select a choice when I turn the wheel. I've unplugged it, but keeps doing the same thing, nothing. At one point I did get it to fill, but now it's got water at the bottom and I can't get it to drain, or start over. It's just not responding to anything. So now I'm trouble shooting. (update: I pressed the "water/rinse" that's next to the temp button and that seems to have reset things so that turn it to spin which it did) and now I'm about to wash my first load. After seeing how much water it put during the normal cycle and how many in the comments are disliking the water will level I'm going to try to the deep fill and deep rinse. Hopefully that's enough to just leave it there and be done with it. Oh, how I miss the old days when it was just a simple on/off/small/med/large/cold/warm/hot.... and the machine would last decades. (Update again) Very pleased with this machine so far. The real test is going to be next, when I do my queen size rather thick bedspread.

Sorry to hear that you are having this issue.
