Just completed this operation successfully on my 97 LX. Went great! Thanks for the demo! Also, a coat hanger works great for hanging the caliper. Just straighten it out, run it through one of the bolt holes on top of the caliper, then up through the suspension spring and twist the 2 ends together. Works like a charm!
Thanks so much. You have given me the knowledge and courage to do this myself. It was pretty easy too. Saved me like a million dollars.....$400 really.
believe it or not, I replaced the tires because it needed it anyway and it went away. I also had a shim that was not on the brakes right which didnt help but it still made noise until I replaced the tires.
Hi @brutmaster08 I own a Ford Escort ZX2 2003, and when my dad was replacing the brakes the Duralast/Brake Disc Hardware Kit - Front (what autozone has it labeled part H5309) fell off and we couldn't figure out how to get it on. It says its purpose is to "Prevents noise and premature wear Eliminates heat and corrosion deterioration Minimizes drag to improve gas mileage Restores brakes to like-new performance" and I don't want my car to damage, how do I put them on?
Hello Sarah, from what I remember they slide on the caliper where the brake pads glide/rest on it. If you need more clarification I can take my bros car apart around July 28th and make a video. Best of luck and thanks for watching. Randy
I did the brakes, but for some reason and I believe it is the shimes but not sure. the brakes click when they are applied. I took them back apart and adjusted the shimes and it quite for about 10 miles and then they started clicking again. any suggestions?
Hi, soak them PB blaster on them, then get some locking pliers out, work on getting the codder pins out, after that lock on the end of the long pin try and twist. Sometimes you have to keep a work at with and soak it good with PB or WD40. Also with Locking pliers attached to pin, use a hammer and tap the pliers to push pin out. Good Luck, thanks for watching.
Colleen Buckley Sounds like sludge is in line. I'd take end off caliper and apply pressure and see if it flows. All fluid should be replaced every 5-6 years. Good luck, and thanks for watchin!
i replaced brakes and calipers but after driving the car for a short time car slows and will not go more than 35 the front brakes are hot and you smell them burning anyone have any idea what could be causing problem this
Sounds like either the pad is jammed or its a bad caliper. Make sure the parts are 100% correct for the car and are not jammed up. I always put brake lubricant on the sliders. Not sure if bleed wrong, usually it just don't stop because of not right pressure. Good luck.

Very Helpful. In the process of doing the same job on my own car
Cheers!
I believe it only uses one spring clip on the top pin, not both.

The calipers were bought at NAPA, they only sell one brand, I think the backend company is Cardone. Thanks for Watching!

hey, does it click even under hard braking? Could be a piece of metal. So is this new pads and rotors?
Your Very Welcome!!
