Most modern beats are usually very simple melodies that are high passed with a heavy 808 and snare. They don’t usually have much sampling either. Maybe a light vocal.

I always have problems finding samples that i saved.. even finding projects that I saved. I am still learning the mpc and I have the MPC LIVE 2 and MPC X SE.
Start trying to keep your save location organized. I like to save beats in a folder titled beats then in that folder is folders labeled by year. Inside the year folder are folders labeled by month which contains all the beats I made that month.
Creating some kind of system for yourself will help in the long run.
Fam .. I reach out to the other day , regarding my manual chopping not working. .. it something going on with my 1 shot tab … after trim mode .. I select , chop. .. Fam I press the shift bottom.. One Shot ! Wasn’t highlighted .. once it set the one shot tab . Lazy chop work 😊. However I have to do this for each sample .. is there a global setting for 1shot .. that remains set .. every time I power up my MPC
One shot is usually highlighted be default. You tap it to turn it off. Even if it is off when you hit convert to new drum program it is the same and you can always go into the program edit and change it back or edit samples after the fact of converting to a program.

For some reason my Manual chop feature isn’t Responding , 1st in Sample edit mode/page . I Trim my sample , press Trim / Enter Chop mode.
Select Manual / my chop are not in order.. Pad 1= Slice , Pad 2= Slice etc .. the little Gray tab between the wave file .. is moving the slices out of order .. example slice 4 .. is assigned to Pad 1 .. , However, Region, Threshold , Bpm.. seems to work ..
For example if I sample .. The alphabets. ABCD is not chopping in manual mode .. A /p1 B/ p2 ..
I have had this happen. Usually during editing the chops. If you look at the first chop or any chop that seem out of order if it seems to skip numbers on occasion it will be a double chop on a pair of pads. In your example it starts Pad 1 = Slice 2. if you see that on the sample editor and it shows the first slice number as 2 then get the Eraser and tap to delete the first slice. It should then turn into Slice 1 instead of showing 2. The other remaining pads should fall in line.
If you see the pad slices go 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 7 - 8 then pad 4 has duplicate chops and tap delete on pad 4 twice and the order should go back to normal.
I think this might be what you are experiencing. Feel free to let me know if this was the issue or if it was something else.

I should’ve purchased a MPC x .. to have shift button/ etc..
I had a MPC 2000 back in the day . Got tired of disk / zips .. So I switch over to NI Maschine ,
I unplugged the Maschine .. I do a lot of chopping. Hide the sample!
I think Akai need to have a sample preference tab
To set up Pad Parameter , option..
which I’m seeing some people saving chops in Non Destructive.. then Pad Parameter.
How you converting a sample which Mode?
@@Phrozen716 those buttons I’m referring to are on the screen in the sample editor. The MPC Live 2 has a shift button. It also has pad shortcuts if you hold the shift button and most buttons have secondary functionality.

As far as sample preferences I use Pad Parameters most of the time.
