Good timing for this video, the Q5 just shipped and your review really affirms my buying decision. I just wanted a vacuum bot that can operate itself with as little intervention as possible, simple, no fancy extra features. It needs to be smart about navigation not just zig-zag about bumping into everything infront of it, and also be conveniently customizable for dividing the house up into sections. Also it needs to actually work and not leave some of the dirt just scattered about. From everything I can figure about this Q5, it is absolute boss without spending a week's pay on it either!
Picked one of these up while on sale to rotate out an old S5E model. Super happy with it thus far. So far the only major things I've had to do on the Roborocks was replace the drive wheel mech. With the dogs and gets I have it's rather hard on robo vacs.
Impressive job in the kitchen and with the hair on carpet and coffee, its vacuuming is almost as good as the flagships you review on your channel. Didn't expect much from object avoidance at this price range. Thank you, just bought one for my upper carpeted floor after watching this :)
Was gonna go with this one but got the pro X Omni instead for the object avoidance. It’s been amazing so far. Didn’t think I cared about the mopping feature but I use it quite often. Thank you for these videos Dad!
Interesting that you mentioned the Q revo Edge in this video. I just got that today and it's doing it's first clean. If you like the Q Revo Curve you will also like the Edge, it's the same robot, the dock is a bit of a different shape. So far I am really liking the Q Revo Edge.
Hey! Have you heard of the Dreame E30 from what I could tell it was a UK release that Target now sells. It’s a budget vacuum mop with a lot of features from higher end models. I would love to see a review on it!
I love the way that you explain, and I love hearing your videos. Keep it up. I need your help please, can you tell me which robot is the best for vacuuming and mopping? because I’m very tired of buying and returning🤣. I’ve got the first robot vacuum which was the iRobot combo 10 max, the app was really not accessible for me as a blind person, and according to my family, the robot was not good enough. And I also got the iRobot I 5+, and that’s no comment, I returned it right at the next day. and right now I have the Ecovacs X2 Omni. I like it, but when it’s cleaning, I have to be around it, because it stocks on things a lot, like the living room table, etc. I want your recommendation, your opinion is a lot important to me. I kind of don’t care about the price as long as it’s a good robot for vacuum and mop, so if there’s any robots that you would recommend to me, or if you heard of any robot vacuums that is accessible, please let me know. Thanks again, and happy holidays.
When reviewing/rating a self-emptying robo-vac, you really should check the dust bin when the self empty cycle has completed. If not, how can you/we be sure the dust bin was actually emptied? While you did this on the carpet cleaning portion of the review, I didn't see this done on the initial cleaning test. I learned this my year old Q5+. After a year's service, the self-emptying cycle often results in a mostly full dust bin. This likely/obviously indicates a blockage somewhere in the system that needs to be cleared. Therefore, when new and as the robo-vac ages, bin inspection after the machine self empties should be a best practice.
I ordered one of these guys for my grandma and it looks like it’ll meet her needs no problem. Thank you for letting me see it!
Glad I could help!
