Thank you so much sir Stefan ....I was able to nail my Pat because of your help..much appreciated 🥳🥳🥳
Great news Keneilwe... now march on and conquer the final exams. WATCH THIS ua-cam.com/video/m9VqD_ULmlY/v-deo.html
Greetings sir Thank you for such great content. How do we the SANS convention for a roll up counter door, glass and handrails?
Great question Y Yy. Sir could you please give us an answer?
Check in the video's description box👍🏾
@@cocobeans5966 thanks
Hy YYy. Please check the description area. I have added some examples for you and others as a download. The glass walls are basic two double lines, exactly how you would do a window set within a wall, without the wall lines and window sill. All the best.
@@HowToEGD thank you Sir
Hi stefan
Does the outside undercover walkways also need to be included in the total 280m2 or is that separate?
Hi Surf.tv. Thanks for the question. The walkway is excluded from the 280m². All the best with your PAT.
Good day Mr Kleyn
Thank you very much for the video. May I ask, isn't the instructions say that the drawing should not be smaller than scale 1:75 which means scale 1:100 won't be applicable?
Hi Wandilelolwane, thanks for the question. The PAT document states "preferably not smaller that a Scale of 1:75". My understanding is that we can deviate, as long as the Scale is still suitable. 1:100 will be perfectly fine and is a much easier scale to use for most learners. You are still welcome to stick to 1:75 if you are more comfortable with a bigger scale. I appreciate your input. All the best with your PAT!
I'm doing this phase currently :)
Hi Anime, thanks for the comment and I trust you are progressing well with your PAT. Should you have a question, please start a new thread! Cheers.
Hi Mr Kleyn sir
I wanted to ask, when drawing a floor plan and they give us certain measurements for the wall should we use the measurements given for the inner or the outer wall
Also by how many mm should the interior wall be from the exterior wall
Hi CaramelJunkie, thank you for the question. A measurement of around 200 - 270mm will be for the external wall and 100-120 for the internal wall... Trust that answers your question! All the best!
Greetings to you sir, hope you fair well. May I ask, concerning the dimensions. On the scenario part where they point out that the media-centre section of the building should be equal to the area of 180m^2, does that mean the whole entire building or only the section where the library and computer room is situated?
Hi Kaylee, thanks for the question. Please check Episode 5 for a full explanation of the Floor area and possible design solutions to consider. All the best. WATCH EPISODE 5 NOW: ua-cam.com/video/bvOWi0SZjt8/v-deo.html
@@HowToEGD thank you very much sir, have a good night 😊
Do you know where I can find the standard dimensions for things like stoves, washing machines, fridges, etc?
Hi victor, good question. You should be able to find standard dimensions to most furniture and fixtures here: www.dimensions.com/
All the best.
Good day sir ,I am struggling with phase 2 ,I want to know if I have to draw freehand drawing again the one that I choose from phase 1..2 question do I need to draw the existing building to connect to my building. I am very lost ,I don't know where to start and your help is very appreciated 🙏
Hi Sthee, thank you for your questions. Here my feedback:
(1.) You only need to draw two freehand concepts.
(2.)You only need to create a table to evaluate the two concepts and not draw a final concept. Please see episode 9 discussing this.
(3.) You only need to draw the new building as per the design brief which includes a 3m section of the walkway leading to the existing buildings - no need to draw existing buildings on any other drawing accept the Site Plan where all existing features must be shown.
My BIG TIP: Take the time to carefully read through your PAT doc and watch my series. Each component of the PAT is discussed in the series. All the best.
Good day sir how do we indicate the undercover walkway, do we simply add a small block spaced out on the undercover walkway or is there a specific way we indicate the covered walkway on a floorplan
Hi Eagledon, a simple indication on the Floorplan as you mentioned should suffice. Maybe add a label as well as the width dimension of the walkway to further clarify. All the best with your PAT.
Thank you sir im planning on doing my best in the pat as i already know i can easily get 80%+ for paper 1 & 2
If the required dimensions are 180 meter square, does that mean the length could be 18m the width 10m ? If so the dimensions would be 1800cm, with the scale 1:75 i would say 1800 ÷ 75 ?
Hi Samukelo, thanks for the question. Please note the building shape must be "T" or "L" shaped. Make sure to watch my video discussing the actual layout: Episode 5 - ua-cam.com/video/bvOWi0SZjt8/v-deo.html
Mr kleyn can you please do the pat for 2022🙏grade 11
Hi Ziyanda, The Grade 11 PAT series on "How To Hack Your PAT" can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/__8C9Kg9Ko4/v-deo.html '
Please note not all schools implement the exact same PAT in Grade 11, but sure the series should still be a huge benefit to you and your friends. All the best!
Hi l do it in grade 8 and I am struggling can you pls do videos for grade 8 please 😔
Congratulations with being the first Grade 8 submitting a request. You have gained my respect. I am planning a basic concept series that will definitely assist you. Until then, please check out the various playlists available for relevant support. Cheers.
