My dad just got a cds9 . Ran all kinds of ammo thru it . Different hollowpoints all in one mag. Hst critical defense, and gold dots. Ran flawlessly. Right out of box. Without cleaning. Very nice shooting gun too.
You picked two winners imo. I love the slide serrations, reminds me of an Ed Brown Kobra. I had a CZ RAMI that I loved (this gives me similar vibes). Cheers
I have a few Kimber pistols and one on the way, mine has been reliable but they are ammo picky and you need to find what they like. I have had good luck with 124 grain quality ammo.
Kimber is called unreliable because the 1911s and the ultra carry need to be broken in I think it’s around 500 rounds but mine have been reliable even within the break in period
Glad to see people are starting to come out with these. Was hoping for P238 and P938 versions to be made like this too. I like the 15r mags, but I would definitely want to carry it with flush mags (with a 13 or 15rd mags for a backup mag). I think that an 11rd mag would be nice too if it's like a Glock mag with a small pinky extension.
Man I wish i.made that good tradesman money. My stepdad always bought the sweetest weapons but once he passed that while collection was sold off so mom wouldn't have to immediately start living off investments. 😢😢❤❤ sweetest channel you're becoming. my every day watch like honest outlaw
My only complaint everytime I see this gun is that I wish the baseplate matched the gun better. Kimber is the king of nice finishes and I would’ve thought they could’ve matched that better. Other than that the gun is beautiful. I’ve been thinking of trying the Kimber Mako Carbon Compact.
Boker knifes are good work horses. I used to buy 3-4 knives a week. Then I found the White River M1 backpacker. I didn’t buy a knife for about ten months. But I had to give in. White River came out with the same knife in Magnacut. Now I have a massive collection of high quality knives that I never carry any more. Slowing down on knives has left me more money for firearms/ammo and flushing out my tools in my shop.
I love the design of the CDS9! The serrations and the finish look fantastic. The main reason I have bought one yet is because I’ve heard of the reliability issues. But this gun and the 2K11 seem to be a step in the right direction.
Wilson's SFX9 also flew under the radar. That fun has an actual sliding 1911 trigger, is crazy reliable, and way better than most pistols on the market.
Kimber gets a lot of shit(and rightfully so) for their quality control issues. But they've been under new management for a few years now and have been killing it. This and their new 2K11 they just released have gotten very positive reviews. Too bad they're a little out of my price range.
I just got my CSX a little while ago. I really love it, and couldn't afford to get this if I wanted to but I had no idea it even existed. Time to start saving my pennies.
Kimber makes some really nice looking pistols. There are just two things they would need to do for me to buy one. 1) improve their reliability/reputation, and 2) drop the price…A LOT! This pistol online is listed for ~$1,200.
I haven't hear of reliability issues with these 9MM double stacks or their Mako line. It is the 1911's. I had two and they didn't run. The larger version of that gun you bought seems to run fine, so you are probably OK. Also, saw yours run on Humble Marksman and it was running good.
I recommend a sidearm to where you can have (One in the Pipe) and the hammer down from the decocker - single action, double action. Beretta Px4 Storm SC 9mm is in order for this type of action.
How do the serrations grip? Looks like the half circles would help with grip, but it's hard to tell by looking at it. I've come across a couple guns in the past that were hard to rack and inadequate serrations made them extremely hard to rack. Have seen a few that we couldn't find anyone that could rack them.
That kimber looks amazing. I’ve never felt comfortable about buying any gun that comes with a rebate. To me, that is screaming, that the gun has a small flaw or something. I’ve never bought a rebated gun, for one reason really, in my opinion, No Firearm should come with a rebate, for whatever reasons. Always gives me bad vibes.
I don’t think it’s intended to be pocket carried. It’s hammer fired. I wouldn’t pocket carry anything hammer fired because it gets caught while drawing. This is thinner than my 26 so it’s not too bad! Size comparison coming soon!
@spnfirearms looking forward to the size comparison video. Hammer fired guns in the pocket don't bother me. I often carry my S&W model model 60 357 mag in the pocket. I shield the hammer during the draw. It works very well and does not snag
I love how Kimbers look, but unfortunately, I had a terrible experience with my kds9c. Customer service was great. They have a whole system on their website just for pistols that need a tweaking. That also tells you that a lot get sent back for work. Very pretty but im good.
There are 10 rounders available im not sure about how flush they are though. Im currently looking at one of these and a few other options in a similar price
Standing outside, smoking my cigarettee EDC’ing watching your videos, in a bad neighborhood that shouldn’t even be bad but hits different spns videos, everybody can relate to because we all work 9 to 5 majority of us we are just regular people trying to make it through the day we see all of our close friends and people we know pass away around us because of dumb people and they’re ignorance. I come from Toledo, Ohio small city with a lot of dumb people. trying to save up to move away. It’s tough.respect. 💪!
I like those, but shied away from Kmber's repuation of being ammo picky, and prone to dirt and dust causing issues. Admittedly, these are dated findings for a different model. Boker's makers made many of the Thrid Reich daggers so they've a strong history of quality edges. Do you know if this OTF is outsources to Asia?
Smith fixed the trigger on the csx. I really like mine. I like a lot about this lumber but they should have made the handle longer instead of the crazy extensions. Maybe it was a weight thing but I’d rather have the longer grip
I've never been a fan of 1911s because each one I have seen has always had a stove pipe or a jam of some kind. I do like the Wilson Combat CQB. It looks sweet, but that price tag!!
Wish kimber would make their fiber optic sights thicker, they're target style which doesn't make much sense on a small EDC gun. My K6S has the same sight.
Yeah the KDS9C is kind of a dream pistol for me, ive leaned away from Micro 9's. Not to say they aren't great, I just find my wife takes all my micro 9s lol. but the thing is so damn hot
If I was going with a micro 1911 I’d pick up a sig… if I wanted a compact and I couldn’t find a rock island Armory compact 1911 in 45 I’d go with the EMP…. Which is something I want to pick up hopefully next year…. I’ve been really bad this year 💀🤦🏽♂️
I love not having the grip safety on my kds9c as its a full size gun and it's basically just a range gun. But that super small safety on a SAO carry gun? IDK, I'd prefer it had the grip safety.
I carry my slightly enhanced G3c daily because my high end guns are high end guns investments if you will oh and during summertime it's my LCP because again $200 not to mention police are taking your gun if you use it I know this from experience 27 years ago..🇺🇸👍🏼
Kimber gets a bad rap sometimes. I have the Kimber Evo Sp (striker fire) which is about the same size as the S&W CSX and its been flawless so far. The cons are it's discontinued, only 7+1 and can be hard to find holsters for.
Well… boker always has made great knives… I will say Kimbes look so awesome, especially their compact 1911s but they have such a tarnished reputation I’d never buy one..
That was a first impressions video.. here’s the 520 round review (20 hollow points) in one sitting. ua-cam.com/video/Yc4nkvYiu8o/v-deo.htmlsi=mmNHre53zT7aiGNK
I'm happy to own my 2 Berettas, but they ripped me off last year. I got a PX4 with a $75 mail in rebate. Sent it in complete with serial #, pictures, blood sample, but never got it. I gave them 6-8 weeks, called after 10 weeks, was told the promotion is expired & I waited too long, now they can't help me. I'll never buy Beretta again.
Not worth it for a single action pistol. Can't even use for the pocket cocked and locked. If you like OTF made in the USA Axial Shift great quality and great price.

I wish I could find a rami! And yes the serrations are awesome. Thanks for watching and respect
Sweet pick up man. I know people say kimber has reliability issues but they’re just so beautiful!! I like the mako carbon compact a lot too.
Yes, exactly! My mako r7 has been just great. We will see how it performs! Full review coming soon!
I have a few Kimber pistols and one on the way, mine has been reliable but they are ammo picky and you need to find what they like. I have had good luck with 124 grain quality ammo.

there was some MIM part failures there for a minute. Quite some time ago. The rumors and bad rep stuck.
Glad to see people are starting to come out with these. Was hoping for P238 and P938 versions to be made like this too. Kimbers look really nice but their reputation for reliability is not good. I have seen recently they have been improving though.
My Kimber mako r7 has been great but agreed. We will see how it runs tomorrow! Shooting review coming soon!
I believe This was a while ago when they were using a different type of extractor, and then they switched back to what they were originally using.
@ it’s much more than an extractor issue. Their mags don’t work either.
Looks beautiful how you feel about Bersa thunder 380s Spn?
@@scottytimeee bersas are solid! I only own one but no issues! If the price is right, grab it!

I've had the standard micro9 for years now no issues at all with mine. Also very accurate for a 3 inch barrel

I just Googled it and they do make a 10rd mag for the cds9
I've been carrying a black double edged version of that Boker knife for a few months now. Been reliable at a great price point
What knife is it?
@chaoticadventure Boker Dagger D2 2.0
That is an awesome piece.. I have a micro 9 and a micro 380. Both are great shooters. Love Kimber firearms..
I saw a good number of reviews on it, it's very cool looking for sure 10/10 on aesthetics
carry that APX everyday . hate the trigger but for the price its a nice gun . wish there were more vids of it on youtube

The original Makos had a recall a while back.

Yes single action only. It’s a 1911 set up just smaller.

Would love to see the cds9 vs the Glock 26 after you get some rounds through it. Great video man!
Back in the 80s Kimber had a great reputation.. but, people I talk to today, say their dependability is sketchy now...
Hope this is a good one..😊
Do u have calipers? I feel like that thing is as thicc or thicker than the g26.

That German Boker is a nice looking weapon, nice backup if you run out of ammo.
Boker Plus is still Boker but they are not made in Germany.
@ where is this knife manufactured?
Most likely China but I’m not 100%. Sure on this one. Boker has made knives in a lot of different countries. I have one made in Argentina
Those grips look awesome! Have you shot the Kimber Evo? I've seen prices on them coming down a lot recently and I'm thinking about picking one up.

I like these. Not a fan of ambi features and optic cuts, but this is a nice firearm!
Really sweet but without flush mag I’m out, it is a nicer looking CSX, I’d be tempted if came with night sights and flush mag.
I had no idea this gun even existed. I've been thinking for years that Kimber should do a Micro 2011.
I like the option for bigger magazines but the price increase just isnt worth it when compared to my CSX
Can you do a size comparison vid for this one pls
Kimber does offer 10 round mags for this!! Super jealous I'd love to get my hands on the cds9
I've never been a fan of 1911s because each one I have seen has always had a stove pipe or a jam of some kind.
I do like the Wilson Combat CQB. It looks sweet, but that price tag!!

when i bought my 3.5” barrel 1911
still haven’t found a good one
Wish kimber would make their fiber optic sights thicker, they're target style which doesn't make much sense on a small EDC gun. My K6S has the same sight.
I have the 78 made. I bought one in an auction. It’s a nice gun.
