I can't believe Fairy Tail came out almost 14 years ago. It was my first major anime that I distinctly remember the start of, so it holds a precious place in my heart.

So saying the guild itself it an MC makes sense, as everyone has importance.
Honestly, for the show that got me into anime, it ain't bad. The OST is one prime example of why it'll still be one of my all time favorites, even though the show will get shit on by everyone due to the whole we can do anything because friendship BS 💀

To be honest, I have only just started watching, about two thirds through season one, but to be honest based on what I have seen so far, it seems to work the concept of friendship and combat together better than most similar anime I have seen. Often displaying anger as a powerful emotion, which is often contrary to what most anime of a similar style try to depict. Obviously it isn't the best anime I have ever watched, but I don't see how it could be seen in that light based on what I have seen thus far
