Hi Sir I was lucky when I went into a total wine store I saw 4 bottles of tomatin 18year old sitting on the shelves for $80.00 each, and I thought it was cheap enough for an 18year old whisky,so I bought 2 bottles and I drank 1 and still have 1 in the bunker, I went back about a month ago and it had been mis priced, it jumped up to a $135.00 a bottle, so I probably wouldn't buy it again until I finish off the other bottle, I really enjoy this whisky !!! I have also a bottle of cask strength 1 also, but it's not as good as the 18year old for sure, I love your reviews and I always watch all of them, thanks for your review of tomatin 18year old, cheers sir and good luck with your channel !!!
I would also talk about the Loch Lomond 18. I'm totally inline with your thinking. I have a dusty bittle of this on mind all the time and if I ever get back to that neighborhood I would gladly invest in a second bottle for less than $100. If its gone??? I pass on this all $110 all the time. Do you remember Ralfy's rant about the Loch Lomond "Smoothed to Perfection"??? I find the LL12 to be way more interesting than the LL18 which is smoother. And yes, in my mind the Speyburn 15 is a must have, but its not here in NY /NJ
Loch Lomond is a distillery that I need to take some time to understand much more. Kevin and I have discussed it on the podcast somewhat, but if there is a distillery with a bigger gap that the experiences of the online community have had, and my personal experiences have been, I can't think of one. I generally feel like that must be a "me" problem more than anything though...
Having a dram of this right now. Delicious in my opinion. I find this bottle for around $70 at a local shop as of late June of 2024. I decided to add about a teaspoon of purified water to it tonight and it *REALLY* opened up the flavors. I'm a big fan of the Tomatin distillery....
Speyburn 18 was $95.00 at a shop down the street. Tomatin 18 was $118 at BevMo. Total Wine was maybe two or 3 bucks cheaper. Very comparable. Speyburn clearly wins on value. Both are fantastic drams. Just nabbed a backup Speyburn 15 for $64.99 in San Francisco on Saturday. Such a bargain. Cheers.
I'm usually with you on wanting hooks on higher end bottles, but I love this bottle! Something just hits the spot from it.

Thank you so much for the feedback! It means a lot! At $80 the Tomatin is a steal for sure. I'd probably stock up too!
Excellent review. Excellent presentation!
Thank you!

Speyburn 18 at sub $100 is a great value! Cheers!
Great content. Keep it coming.
Thank you!
I just bought a bottle of this for USD 85. I reckon this would be considered fair value for the money?
$85 is a great price for this one!
