Welcome to my Umpire Mechanics series. This part covers batted balls, and is the 3rd of 5 videos.
Jeff reviews situations for batted balls and what umpires will look for and move to when the ball is hit.
NOTE: At 4:15, I should also note that the base umpire is responsible for fair/foul past 1st base on the right field line. In this case, the plate umpire should also run towards 2nd base for a play incase the ball is dropped, as well as watching the touch at 1st.
