    Thank you for this information! On Anchor, do I have to record the podcast in one segment or is there a way I can paste pieces of audio together? For example if I record a portion of my first podcast today and then another portion tomorrow, can I combine it to make one audio file to upload? Sorry if this question is weird, this is all new to me. Thanks!

    • @Touchtechnologyreview
      @Touchtechnologyreview  4 роки тому +2

      You can definitely do it that way. When you finish each recording you can save it into the library of the Anchor app. You can then come back into the Library at any time tap on clips and add them put them all together into an episode. To do that just just tap on the plus button on each audio clip in your library and add them one by one.

    If using a USB mic can I buy a dual USB adapter for two USB mics and still get both audio from both mics?
    I hope that makes sense

    • @Touchtechnologyreview
      @Touchtechnologyreview  3 роки тому

      Well it's not quite that easy. Typically only one USB microphone can be detected on both Mac and Windows machines. If you have a Mac you can do it using the audio midi utility. I have created a tutorial on it. ua-cam.com/video/jw5dID426lI/v-deo.html This could be helpful. However I must warn you it is not easy. Much harder than it should be if you ask me. But the video takes you through step by step if you have the patience.

      Not that I am aware of. However I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out as a feature update at some point soon. Given that it is owned by Spotify and they are starting to push into the video podcasting space. But for now the best way to go is to produce your video podcast and publish that on UA-cam and then export the audio out and upload that to Anchor as an audio podcast.

    • @Touchtechnologyreview
      @Touchtechnologyreview  3 роки тому +1

      Sorry about the delay on this. Just got to the messages. Usually when you have a mic input it hijacks the audio so you can't have both. So a Microphone with a wired 3.5 monitoring jack would be the only way to do it as far as I know.

    Sir how do you use microphone and headphones together?

    • @Touchtechnologyreview
      @Touchtechnologyreview  4 роки тому

      For me it was easy because I used the audio recorder which has a mic input and headphone output. If you are using an iPhone it may be more difficult these days because many of the newer generation of phones have done away with the headphone jack. There are a few options for you. Probably the best if you want a microphone like the one I use is to get something like the Rode NT1 USB or Rode NT1 USB mini. It is a usb microphone which you can connect using the Apple Lightening to USB camera adaptor. The microphone itself has a 3.5 headphone input so you can then plug headphones straight into the mic so you can hear yourself. I haven't tested the set up yet but this is something you could look into.

    • @Touchtechnologyreview
      @Touchtechnologyreview  2 роки тому +1

      There are always going to be issues if you use commercial audio tracks. I would recommend looking at music libraries that are copyright free. Artlist, Epidemic Sound are both subscription based options or there is UA-cam. You can get great quality free audio tracks from the audio library which are free if used on UA-cam podcasts but if you want to use them on other platforms you have to contact the artist.

    Awsome video man, i have a question though. Is it possible to connect 2 or more microphones into the iphone will that work on the app? Assuming im using the usb microphones? And is the app supported on ipad as well? Thank you again keep rocking

    • @Touchtechnologyreview
      @Touchtechnologyreview  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks man, appreciate you taking the time to check it out. The app and iPhone/iPad interface is not suited to multiple inputs. The only way you could connect two microphones is using an audio interface, which I have done before or even a simple way using a splitter cable ie 2x3.5 input to 1 single 3.5 input. Then you plugin that into the 3.5 to lightning audio adaptor. So a little tricky but can be done. It is also available on the iPad and that leads me to my next suggestion and that is that you can have the second guest use another device simply add them to your current recording session the way I show in the video to invite a friend and that should do the trick. 👍

      This app is really designed to produce audio podcasts at this stage. if you wanted to produce a video podcast then you could record it using the iphone then use a video editor to complete the video podcast and upload to youtube then. Export the audio version out of your editor and then bring that into Anchor to edit as an audio podcast that can then be distributed across the podcast networks.

      I think it is most important to cover a topic that really resonates with you. So if it isn't ready for a few months, better of waiting and going all in on the topic that you love than trying to come up something just to get started. However you can start using the software and recording some test episodes while waiting. On the other hand if you can find an alternate topic start it up as your first channel and just go for it and once again it serves as practice while you're waiting for the big one!

      That is an interesting point you bring up. As with most social media sites the terms and conditions usually stipulate how old you need to be and the age seems to be 13 on most platforms. So that is probably a good guide. However as I say to my own children, I suggest putting in some ground work first , prepare a plan outlining what you want to say, how you want to be perceived what your vision is for your podcast channel and then get some practice in before launching. That could be a 3 month process or three years, then when you review your own work you'll kind of know when you are ready to put it out there into the public domain. 👍

    Maybe one day I’ll be brave enough to start a podcast for book worms.

      Fair point. Nothing wrong with Android. Anchor certainly works on Android too.

    I have a new iPhone 12 in deciding whether to use this or my MacBook Pro which is a about a year or two old to record my video podcast. The iPhone 12 camera looks like it has a slightly better quality. I have a canon 700d DSLR but I’ll be needing to record remote interviews

      I would expect the iphone 12 to have a better video camera and lens than the MacBook Pro which I understand is only 720p video quality. The iphone 12 has full HD and even 4k and also you can choose between a mid-wide lens and a longer lens so more options on the iPhone.

      @@Touchtechnologyreview thanks for confirming. The only thing is I’ll be doing remote interviews meaning I’ll be using zoom. Could I record an interview via zoom on my iPhone ? Using my MacBook, I can also go onto a file in my laptop which records the audio of the interview. The audio doesn’t look like it can be extracted and exists separately on my phone if I record using an iPhone. I’m looking to have a video and audio podcast
