Nice. I would probably waste a lot less time if i had a mallet like that to cut my losses on projects i am no longer happy with! It looks really cool with the blue light at the end too
I always appreciate it when crafters take us through a project that didn’t go according to plan but still turned out okay. Glad you stuck with it and thank you for sharing it with us.
Thanks friend! I had a lot of fun with it and I’m glad UA-cam was “watching me” other wise this might have been a smash the thing and move on scenario haha 😂
Thank you Daniel! I’m so happy that I did change course with this project! And yes omg the tentacles were so fun to make...I might have to make a Kraken or something someday 🤔
Aww thanks! I’m happy I turned it around too...I kind of think knowing there was a part one of this project on the Internet helped to keep me accountable 😉 might have been pushed to the back of the craft closet otherwise lol
So much kudos for returning to upgrade something that wasn't how you wanted it. Holy cow it looks amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your stories and art.
@@RaqrexArt haha it happens, i have had plenty of model builds that started bad and just got worse and worse for some random reasons. The satisfaction of conquering it in the end is well worth it though. On the flip side my most recent project went completely to plan and now i find myself still messing with it despite knowing its finished !
YAY!! Djangos Mummy is the best! 😁 what a great video, from dissapointed Raquel to smashy smashing to an awesome diorama!! 🥰 great work as always, loved it 😊
Haha yes it’s been a roller coaster ride getting through this one but I’m happy with the results ✨ I’ll be sure to get some more Django footage in the next video 🐶 As always thanks for watching!!!
That was an awesome recycling of stuff while also cathartically destroying other stuff! The diorama was great! I don't remember tentacle monsters in Iceland, but I was probably just not paying attention.
Awesome project! Just got back from Iceland (So inspired) and now we’re not sure when we will not travel back to Iceland. In fact I’m going back in a month for the Laugavegur.
I'm really liking how this turned out. Nice camera angles on the final product shots too. You should give yourself a high five. It's hard sticking with a project that is tough, glad you kept going!
Oh wow! Hello! I had such an amazing time in Iceland and would loveeee to visit again! So many beautiful outdoor adventures to be had 😊 Also everyone we met was super duper nice so cheers to you! 🍻
Book nooks are fun. Is made a couple for my channel. Good job love how it turned out. To hide the corrugation a layer of cardstock would have covered it.
Just wow... you rose like a Phoenix with this one, amazing diorama, amazing video! I don't know how you did it.. but you got me sitting here inspired. Congrats on the project!
Aww thank you! Hahaha I feel like you can tell how crazy this project was making me based on all the weird things I did/said 🙃 Glad it all worked out in the end!
I really love the final product. It's great that you were able to salvage the idea. A few things I recommend for a book nook. - You were very brave to use corrugated cardboard. That stuff sucks. I would only use it as filler for a space inside a wall. The texture is awful for painting and it gets soggy too. - Have you tried using foam for terrain? While clay is great for detail work, as you've seen it shrinks, at least the airdry stuff. I use green stuff, but for such a scale, foam boards are better. - I think one problem for the book nook you ran into was that you wanted the sky background. The problem is that the depth of the box obscured the details even if you had lights to put in. I suggest making the nook open next time without a sky box. Use the terrain as the contour and bring the scene forward without the depth so it can be better displayed.
Brave or silly? Haha but seriously I agree with all of your comment! I really only used the cardboard because I had it on hand. I’ve worked with foam a bit but I just started getting into terrain and diorama stuff this year and it has been challenging for me to go out and get some. Here’s hoping 2021 is filled with foam and better accessibility to materials 🙌
@@RaqrexArt I just started following you so I don't know much about you yet, like where you are. I started following you from the joint weird creature project you did, which was great! A giant snowstorm just moved in a few hours ago so it's the perfect ambience to watch this. That intro had me dying; when the knife appeared I lost it. And the interview at the end. 🤣 And the final diorama came out great! Especially the cephalopods; I'm always impressed by sculptors.
