Yup I would love to see a Miquella themed DLC but I honestly think FS will instead bring new barely related stuff on table leaving more questions than answers
That is tradition! So i wouldnt be too surprised by that either
Don’t forget Melina!
There’s so much for them to go off from already in the main game but you’re probably right that these questions will probably remain questions and we will just get new ones 😭😭😭
Yea from doesn't understand their own lore
This video is one of many which shows how thematically cohesive and consistent this game is and your reaction to it is “From don’t understand their own lore.” Good job, contrarian.
Ben Franklin: There are two things for certain, taxes and death.
Marika: No. Just taxes.
The cocoon of miquella feel 1000% like how we will activate the DLC
Hopefully! Would be an easy port over from DS3
man, the community seems pretty confident that we'll be getting a Miquella/Godwyn DLC. I haven't seen predictions this unanimous since the Londor DLC we super definitely did get for ds3.
It be very true we could get something completely separate, maybe half of the expectations of Godwyn/Miquella are just people trying to make their hopes reality lol
It would be really shocking if we didn't get Miquella content in DLC form at some point. Miquella is the only demigod we don't actually meet in some aspect and is, according to Melania the most fearsome Emperion. I fear we'll never get any real answers about Melina because it feels like From changed their mind about her identity too many times before releasing the game. She's too tied to Marika, Ranni, and the GEQ for any explanation to make sense or satisfactory imo so they'll probably just ignore it.
I'm still a bit sore we didn't get a Londor DLC tbh
Thing is, Londor was never in the game or planned to be.
Miquella has loads of cut-contents, which usually make their way into the DLC's.
ALso, DS3 DLC's were made to round up the story of the Dark Souls, which makes sense to have the final revelations about Gwyn and the Pygmy.
Londor was not the best place for that, as it would force the setting to be around Hollows, which were already explained by that point, a DLC around the god of the age of fire was needed.
Plus, the DLC will need one or two Great Runes for us to collect, and few are the demi-gods still around holding one: there's Ranni's discarded rune, which will probably come up in a DLC because anyone could have picked it up, and Miquella's rune, all the others are in the base game. Other than that, you have Godwyn as one of the only 2 demi-gods remaining at the end of the story, I doubt they will pull a demi-god out of their hat for the DLC, that would be quite jarring.
@@dearcastiel4667 I would love a sort of Elden Ring rehash of my favorite DS3 boss fight Lothric and Lorian done with Miquella and Godwyn. Probably won't happen but thematically it kind of fits. Miquella's model in the cocoon looks sickly and gangly and it's pretty clear through item descriptions that he has been attempting to bring Godwyn's soul back to his body.
band of the fallen hawks😭 miyazaki sure does love berserk
I know, he's not even subtle about it!!
Godwyn and his creepy clam-fish-upsidedown-nose-face-without-eyes in stormveil basement is one of my favorite unsolved "why the fuck is this here" and "why doesnt it have eyes when Godwyns eyes are such a big symbol of his influence" and also "how did it deathblight rogier when I ran up and smacked the living hell out of it and it didnt respond".
I would *love* a DLC focused on Godwyn/Death, especially if it provided more lore about why theres 2 Godwyns.
If we are going to get a DLC that's roughly the size of Ringed City (compared to DS3's base-game, so it'd be considerably large in Elden Ring), I expect to get a whole story focused on Miquella and his mission.
Here's my theory.
The first segment will focus on Blood, Sleep and Flame. It involes retrieving Miquella from Mohg's arena. We need a key item to activate him in order to enter a dream-scape (similarly to Ancestor Spirit and Fortissax, but an actual level) which would eventually lead us to fighting against Miquella--who is inhabited by the Formless Mother (but not fully, as she could not take full possession of his physical form by the time we arrive). The section would end with us banishing the Formless Mother from Miquella's mind, allowing us to communicate with him, and then being tasked with bringing his body or something else back to the Haligtree Roots (after Malenia) in order to restore the tree and prepare for the next phase.
The second segment will see us return to Castle Sol, activating the Eclipse (Radahn would need to be defeated) and entering the Helphen with Miquella. We would potentially experience spiritual bodies like the Ancestor Spirits, Deathbirds and similar entities, and possibly fight against Godwyn's spirit body. The DLC would end with Miquella fulfilling his mission and reviving the Demigods. Possibly unlocking a new ending with the Demigods acknowledging us as the Elden Lord and swearing Fealty.
I would hope for more than one DLC ofc, like one focusing on time-travel via the Ancient Dragons at Faram Azula--allowing us to return to a period of time, filling in some blanks like how Torrent is aware of us, why the Greater Will wants us specifically not to enter the Erdtree, and Placidusax's original form... But not all of this could possibly be fulfilled at once unless the Greater Will was the Outer God dominating during the age of the Ancient Dragons.
I'd like to point out something you said, The Duskborn ending DOES NOT, reintroduce death back into the world or atleast is not the only one to, all endings do that as you always end up freeing destined death by slaying Maliketh, so all endings have death restored, even the age of fracture. From what I understand the Duskborn ending keeps undeath and makes it common place, but now with the guidance of Godwyn inside the rune making the undead concious/sane?
You basically keep deathblight and those who live in death in check by providing them a home and making sure they don’t go crazy.
A Miquella DLC is all but confirmed. They’ve been adding cut content in updates… have you seen the cut dream content? They are definitely going to elaborate.
@@deepsoul8034I don't agree. There is nothing that implies the Duskborn ending will somehow keep the spread of deathblight in check. It is only ever implied that life within death will become a fact of nature, nothing says the spread of Godwyn's roots and his deathbloght will go away. If anything I would guess deathblighg is going to expand, now that Godwyn's mending rune is woven into the Elden Ring.
@@samplexample "They’ve been adding cut content in updates… " ..... no?
@@chrzanu2242 yes they have, stfu.
I really hope the dlc addresses Godwyn in more detail, ‘cause at the moment I see his death as like being in a coma; the body still technically alive but running off the bare minimum brain activity. as for the fish-corpse, Im stumped
Ranni and Godwyn died at the same time and in the exact opposite ways. Ranni's body died, but not her soul, so she just went on to inhabit the doll and cast away her old empyrean body, meanwhile Godwyn's soul was killed, but not his body, so his corpse is still alive, but stuck in a catatonic state. Since his soul perished by the rune of death I imagine he might be the one character we meet that's truly dead, so when he wakes up he probably won't be Godwyn anymore
I'd be really cool if you could cleanse Godwyn's corruption with something akin to Litany of proper death.
Your basically right on the money my man , this isn’t confirmation , but when you are at the end of fias questline, she makes a strong statement, “ our lord will return ““ and remember she extracts the vigor from champions because she a deathcompanion.. she’s givin all that back to godwyn ,, now as for the fish corpse .. I feel like his body may have been “exposed” to of course many of the high level characters.. he either got his body played with “ pause “ by idk who .. or .. there’s more to the death root that has yet to be exposed to us .. they even had a dope hd scene when his eyes were gushin out that albanaric guu.. “ he could be mutating into a tree himself .. which would be nuts .. I hope not ..what’s the point of even showing us that “? Obviously for story keep but there’s gotta be more … I jus can’t wait to see how they connect him with miquella .. seein as he is the older brother ..
i think the fish corpse might be related to something from hebrew myth called the ‘deep sea’ which was directly related to death and dying. So, this could be an allegory to that if it makes sense.
Damn what if in the DLC we got to fight Godwyn’s giant shell of a corpse how terrifying that would be
Yea I can see Fromsoft doing that to us
I always noticed that every single legacy dungeon has a distinct graveyard in it and even minor forts and dungeons have graveyards too. Massive piles of bodies are found in places like fort laiedd and castle morne. There are the catacombs and random field graveyards too. It’s interesting that there are so many graves and things related to death, yet not a single farm.
Also how death is related to water and aquatic life. Tibia Mariners found mostly in lakes, in boats already. The crabs invested by death root. Godwyn being a giant mermaid.
Really hope we get the Gloam-Eyed Queen wielding Destined Death in a dlc set in the past
One of my worst fears with the DLC is that they're not going to continue the storylines of miquella, mohg, and rykard. Those are the big ones they left hanging. I know there's more. But that's the big ones. If they ignore it and continue in the next game or something. Or just abandon the stories entirely. I'd crumble to pieces lmao. I want the stories to end so bad.
Mohgs ended with him dying and rykard is all their were only missing Miquella
@Maniac mohg explicitly states he isn't done with in his final statements. And rykard also says he cannot be killed. Tannith consumes his head. And when you hit her. She disappears, but she doesn't die. So there's more to both of them. She will most likely be the catalyst for part 2 of rykards' story. Mohgs story will most likely continue through miquella. Not mohg himself.
Proper death is restored in all endings and happens with the defeat of Maliketh. When choosing the Fia (Duskborn) ending, life within death (ghosts, skeletons and whatever is going on with Godwyn) becomes normalized aswell and an equivalent option.
We just want a DLC already😢
I was just hoping for another video from you, awesome!
Glad to supply!
big boggart DLC with Royal Revenants reskinned as Boiled Crabs when?
My best guess on DLC involves Miquella, Mohg and the outer god of blood. I believe Mohg along with the other cursed omens were all attempts by this outer god to enter this world. However with the influence of the elden ring the gods attempt to manifest was unsuccessful leaving the victims with the cursed horns. Having failed multiple times this outer god set its sights on the most power full. Those with the golden lineage. His failure in Margit it then turned to Morgott who attempted to seal his cursed blood in his sword and Mohg who embraced this god. Becoming a servant. However something in him just like the rest made him an incompatible vessel. However Miquella being cursed or as one might see it blessed with eternal youth would be a great vessel. This is why Mhog captured Miquella and was performing the ritual. Perhaps this will be the DLC the New Elden Lord’s first test to defeat this outer god or to embrace it as part of this new world. Could lead to a few different endings such as defeating this god and maintaining peace, embracing this god, or somehow removing this god while saving Miquella ? Would be weird one being how you killed off Miquellas entire family.
i mean they also could make some more dlcs focused on the outter gods
They could! and they do like making DLCs that can be pretty unexpected in content
Spooky video now after the dlc announcement today… really hope it is about miquella & death
I always thought that the lightning wisps were a byproduct of whatever process is done to create the draginkins
My money on DLC.. is about Godwyn, or the gloam eyed queen or about miquella.
The way that the all knowing says he may be a problem… it seems the most likely
There is also the crucible they could explore.
What I want most though… is info on melina. Someone should we have very little on
Melina is either marikas daughter or sister. She is likely the gloam eyed queen, she is also very likely the snowy crone. She is also the “one who walks besides flame” or the “kindling maiden” she has the black knife move set and straight up can spawn a tree
My theory is that she was returned to the erdtree and awoke with no memory of her past life as the gloam eyed queen and that’s where her crow foot eye comes from. As it symbolizes death
The way she sacrifices herself also seems very Phoenix life. As if she’s done this before. She even has the burn marks from when she had a actual body. And nowhere does it say she stops walking with you. The symbology says to me: she just can’t manifest herself at all anymore but is still around
There are many questions about her and no answer
I've been saying the same thing about Melina! She is "burned and bodiless" not only because she's been the kindling maiden, but because she was defeated by Malekith and burned by destined Death. But Marika took her soul and reincarnated her inside the Erdtree as Marika's daughter/servant to aid a Tarnished or whatever her purpose was meant to be.
But as she gets closer to the Erdtree, she begins to remember parts of her old self, hence her connection to and desire for "Death Indescriminate".
In the Frenzied Flame ending, when the Erdtree is burned, Melina's connection to Marika is fully broken and her former self emerges fully. I'd really love to see how this could have all happened in DLC (or find out I'm completely wrong haha).
Melina being gloam eyed queen is unlikely as they have no mention of being in the shattering or around the time the shattering did happen GEQ was pre golden order a rival empyrean to marika chosen from a rival two fingers
Melina is very clearly a daughter to marika she literally says she was born at the foot of the erdtree her lack of physical body could mean she’s a twisted remembrance of rannis body as she half died and they share some similarities but this is me pulling at strings
@@maniac7302 exactly though. As I theorized, Marika defeated the GEQ through Malekith before her Golden Age began and then decided she needed someone to do her will after the shattering and decided to reincarnate the GEQ as one of her and Radagon's secret daughters. We know time, rebirth, souls, and stuff like that are all very pliable in Elden Ring so even though the GEQ was long before the Shattering doesn't mean she couldn't be brought back later.
But again, just theorizing here. I still think the blue eye at the end of the Frenzied Flame ending is just too explicit to be tossed aside. And her desire for Destined Death's return once she recalled her own purpose at the end of the game.
@@TSpoon823 in the files she’s listed as “marikas daughter” or something. So
@@fadeddragon123 absolutely. As you said, she could have been reborn in the Erdtree as Marika's offspring. My goodness, of Radagon is somehow Marika, Melina could be the GEQ but also reborn as Marika's daughter lol. Life and death are just meant to be weird and convoluted in this game 🤣
I want a _shattering_ war dlc
I appreciate the use of Risk of Rain 2 music
I'd like to see a dlc that takes place before the Shattering which would open all kinds of doors 🤔
That would be sick
Something that would feature Godwyn whether in a dream of a past state or something like that would give the opportunity for that. I think it'd be lit
What I'm hoping to see is places outside of the lands between, like the land of reeds. That way we can explore what the experience of other nations was during the events Marika orchestrated. Those nations never had local access to the erdtree, so what did they do?
Just in time
Sleep and death blight are the only ailments that dont have their own ecosystem in elden ring but are present everywhere even through items, even madness has its own villages, merchants, and the sauron eye.
While the other 2 we only have items and both of the demigods (lifeless?) bodies, I could see the next dlc (if any) involve some sort of ascension (or resurrection) for one or both of demigods.
This makes me wonder what would win the scarlet rot or the death blight. Especially since they seem to be the more unstoppable forces in the land between. It does seem like the DLC will have to do with mikaela and Godwin in some sort of way but I am curious to see if there will be more or if it will touch on the other outer gods as well.
And the anniversary came...and went, without a word about a DLC...
Nice this video will be cool 👍
Hope you liked it!
I desperately want some DLC that focuses on Torrent. He seems to have some connection with the Ancestral Spirits as well as the wraith callers. Melina & Ranni mention how he has his own agency. It’s clear Torrent has something to do with the life and death themes of the game.
As I noted in my Torrent vid, I would love more content based around him! Would be wonderful
Good a dlc about death for a game that has a difficulty spike from ten to one thousand.
I heard that risk of rain 2 music
I've always felt it'd be Godwyn themed even before I started watching prediction videos
Why did I hear death like seath when I saw the thumbnail
I think it’d be cool to have a DLC focused around rot or to have a DLC where we travel back to before the shattering.
I would disagree that the Night of the Black Knives was against Marika's exclusion of the Death Rune as the assassins seemed more motivated by the destruction of Nox culture and a potential destruction of the Golden Order.
I hope so
This might be a lot to ask but I would like to see a dlc that would have all of the spreading of godwyn coming to fruition. His eys are everywhere it would be cool to get a dlc that would transform lots of areas across the entire game as opposed to just making a seculded area.
The human obsession with immortality.
10:50 - Is that Fallout 4 Far Harbor music I hear?
Indeed!
Fromsoft after watching this: Ayo holup let this man cook he onto some👀
We came to know about the story of Gods, let's see what the demons were upto when the gods were fighting amongst themselves for Elden Shards
It may be optimistic, but I am hoping for at least two DLCs. There are just so na y plot lines that could be fleshed out
about how long dyou reckon the dlc will be? i havent played any other souls dlcs so im wondering if it will have a lot of content
Typically a fromsoft dlc can add like 3 areas with 3-4 bosses and will be sizeable content most of the time but for Elden ring I think they would add an entire regions worth with a legacy dungeon maybe like 3 open world bosses a few catacombs and caves and maybe two main bosses but it’s not like I know what they are doing
A dlc would atleast be haligtree or weeping peninsula in terms of area I imagine though any less than that would be kinda disappointing
I would assume similar or a bit longer than most other Fromsoft Soulsborne DLCs, since ER is bigger. Should be a solid number of hours to get through
you'll never know..miyazaki's dlc always been something you never thought about or you didnt think about too much
So... now that we wait for the DLC, we're going back to be the Wooper Nation?
Elden Ring: Prepare for Death edition
Rising lore star, eh.
I'll sub.
godwin, miquella, and melena are the most interesting storylines to me
I hope if we do get death DLC that we face godwyns corpse
But isnt his corpse immobile?
@MadLuigi I think maybe the DLC could be starting the eclipse. This could return Godwyn's soul to his corpse some how. I just want to learn more about Godwyn in some form as just like Miquella he feels very under used.
I need a godwin dlc!!!!
If we get a dlc I want my ray tracing and dlss
But why Godwyn? Why is he the first to die?
Option one for dlc, is back in time for the shattering....2 the dreamworld, where miquella resides, the lands between the lands between....3 the other lands where Godfrey went....the lore would then be way more ambiguous as its items well away from the tree.
i have a feeling elden ring 2 might be fromsofts next game after armored core and maybe the second game will take place in the badlands or maybe time travel
DLC might be about godwyn or miquella
@@prayagshetty1672 if elden ring 2 is a thing, Melina is going to be on a warpath
@@FlutterSwag depends on what the cannon ending is but it's most likely either the default ending or age of stars ending
Second game may even take place before the actual games but i guess we gotta wait like a decade to see anything
@@FlutterSwag no elden ring 2
This enter game is about being in the ''Lands between'' , the world / purgatory between a certain fantasy world/universe and its afterlife. Every aspect of the lands between consist of pain, grief, turmoil ,suffering or sad desperation. All the beings in the Lands Between are sent there after death in the real realm ,to either suffer in this purgatory or to rule over/maintain the Lands Between (as a ''god, demigod or Elden lord.). Endless rebirth into a hellscape until the correct criteria is met for the being to pass on to the afterlife, heaven or hell.
All this game is ,is pain ,suffering and death...
This man:''The DLC will be about death.'' ... wow thanks.
It’s probably gonna be Miquella/Goldwyn as this is a mainstream best selling game.
Personally I think the base game fleshes out Godwyn's role the most. I suspect that Miquella's story is one that has the most left out of it and is ripe to be explained in greater detail. St Trina alone is almost entirely unexplained.
true men of class use the far harbor soundtrack in their commentary
This is what confuses me about the Golden Epitaph sword and its spell Last Rights. Raise the epitaph to grant the effect of Sacred Order to yourself and allies in the vicinity. Particularly effective at laying to rest Those Who Live in Death. I was hoping for some sort of enter action with this spell and the ghosts across the lands. But its really an ineffective and weak weapon even with a faith build its only perk is keeping skeletons from respawning. But being that these skeletons are some of the weakest in game its really irrelevant.
Everyone keeps saying miquella dlc and i can almost guarantee it will be something no one will predict. That said, i am leaning towards age of dragons and the god they worshipped.
Well, sorry about that.
@@shallot4013 lol still not sure. But we shall see. If you were around for dark souls 1,2,3 dlc you'd know what I mean
As much as Godwyn was supposed be based off of Baldur the Beautiful, does any one else get mad Jesus vibes from him. As in the Son of the God Marika must die so that the elden ring can be redeemed. Maybe the shattering actually fixed the elden ring.
It better be godwyn or miqella and not some unrelated bs.
13.38 secs vid, 1s from being cool.
on mine it says 13:39, but i didnt even realize it was so close! def woulda edited for that
I need 1 DLC for Miquella, 1 for Godwyn, and 1 for Melina/dusk queen… at least!!
