Yesssssss!! Loved this! I’m an 8w7 and I loved how she addressed how it feels to be an 8 woman. It was so spot on! It can be so lonely and sometimes you do try to digress or shrink to make others feel comfortable but I love that she said stand in it.

Yes, it can be lonely
"Too strong, too powerful, too intense and intimidating" -- All my life. I hear that so often. To the point that I feel sometimes ashamed and like I need to moderate myself, tone down my energy, be less intense... just less of everything. Its actually very lonely and it sucks to feel that isolation because I am just not like other women. Thanks for the share. That was all very... real.
Don’t tone “you” down. We need women 8’s! I’m sorry you’ve felt this way and have had to deal with people not understanding you. People can be mean. 8’s are some of my favs, I’m married to an 8. Be strong, courageous, use that strength God has given you and just be YOU....everyone else is taken. Sending you ❤️ thanks for your honesty and authenticity.
Me too im an 8w7. I was raised with 4 brothers, a lot of guy cousins and tough. When i was a teen i had to learn how to be 'girly.' I actually hate toning down myself. I feel untrue to my nature. I do respect people and treat them right. I just feel miss understood and shut up all the time.

In my family of origin, I grew up believing that I needed to be strong for the sake of others. If I didn't demonstrate strength and hope, those who were struggling or discouraged would become depressed, and lose hope. I have since learned to point other's to God's strength, and faithfulness, and the hope that we have in Him, and to let God also be my own strength and hope. This has been a part of my path to vulnerability. God's grace allows me to share vulnerably with fellow strugglers, but oh the "injustice" of being JUDGED by others! That's a deal breaker.

I loved this! I am always wanting to know and hear more about 8's because my son is an 8. Good insights here. Maybe the falling asleep fast is a 7 thing, I was at a Ladies Retreat and roomed with someone I didn't know well at all. The next morning she said "It was so funny you talked and talked and talked and then there was silence".

Female 8 here! Was mistyped as a 7 and a 3 but it just didn’t feel right. Finally listened to many podcasts and took a test and found my home at 8. Totally identified with everything you said here. Thanks for this!

Holy shit, we're like the same person. I could relate to this on so many levels-- for me, i'm trying to meet my own needs. I would say I'm a 8w7 trying to be healthier for my own sanity

I am an eight, Slytherin, and Scorpio and I am not sure if it is just me but it makes so much sense to me! I have not decided my wing yet though as I feel I can relate to both of them.
I’m an 8. That said, I can tell that this 8 in the video is slightly irritated, as we want to get it done and over with. Nothing wrong with the interviewer, we just hate being put on the spot!
As an enneagram 8 I have a denial of it. I know I’m an 8, but I have trouble accepting it because growing up I was bullied and didn’t do nothing about it, and I always felt so weak. But then I’ve overcame insurmountable odds and achieved a lot (raising 2 kids, getting a Master’s, all while working). I’m an extremely driven person who likes challenges.
The night thing...I’m the most energized at night. I’ll bring up things at night, clean at night. When I was a kid I would fight sleep...It’s just funny

Hillary McCaskey I’m serious...I can look at someone and tell how they’re feeling. I can look at a person and see through their facades, and if they’re no good my intuition is usually right.
I like challenges. If I don’t feel like I’m in one I feel numb. That’s why I always pushed myself so hard, and why I challenge others.

hello, i'm a 4. and i know a social 8 who is in my chinese medecine course. her behavior changed those past few months with me, she was warm and very nice with me at the beginning but several times, she told me harsh words that i took in without saying anything because i hate confrontation. she said some stuff that got on my nerves yesterday. i think her way of saying things is straightforward and hurtful. she's intense and she always wants to be in the spot, and talks all the times as if she was the only one who was worthy of being heard. social 8 needs to learn To get interested in and listen to other people and stop monopolizing the attention. as a 4, when i'm in a group, i don't keep talking about myself endlessly, i show interest in other people by asking question and make them talk. dear 8, know how To make people exist instead of stealing their spot because you take advantage of them being introverts . i think it's a shame you didn't talk in the video about their anger issues and how they can hurt people with their straightfowardness.
You are right - the 8 is in the anger triad. I have a video on it! And they are direct by nature. There are 9 levels of health in each type and based on what level they are operating out of you’ll see different types of 8’s. I’m so sorry you had this experience. I’ll be praying that things can get back to her being warm and nice. ❤️
That’s why we need to go to Enneagram 2 in growth. 2’s show personal interesting YOU as a person. And quick disclaimer, trust me 8’s aren’t bullies (not that you said we were). We are good people. We HATE bullies and wish they’d become extinct! (But anyway, back to the topic at hand.)
Listen to me carefully. The secret of getting an 8 straight is by being direct. (Or being direct slightly on “sly” if you’re uncomfortable with being straight up direct). We’ll get the point and respect you for that. But you MUST be direct and nothing else. Not a cry baby, nor speak with a sensitive tone, but serious and direct. Not angry either, just direct. Here’s why. If you come across in any of those other ways, typical 8 behavior is to just label you as whatever you’re coming across: a cry baby, a sensitive person, or an angry person. We won’t get the point of WHAT you just said but HOW you said it and your presentation. Sad but true. We naturally tend to size people up by their strength and weakness. We don’t try to, we just do. But if you’re respectful and to the point, we LISTEN and REMEMBER. This is coming from an 8, trust me this works.
Side note: Don’t give a whole dissertation speech either. Just say what matters and close it.
And I HATE that kind of behavior was well. ONE person being in the center!! I’m an 8, but I’m an ENFJ as well (weird combo right?). I LOVE equal opportunity in a group setting. 😖😖😖 Yes I agree with Hillary it depends on her level of unhealth.

Well no one really talks about how type 8s are when they are interested in someone or how they are towards their mates.
I guess I'm trying to see how lovey dovey they are or aren't... communication style. Etc
I personally think 9s and 8s go very well with each other 😊 but none of the websites I've read match them as good pairings so 🤷🏾♀️
