Is Raising Cane's Worth The Hype? Times Square Global Flagship Review
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 вер 2024
- Raising Cane's, also called Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, is a fast food chain from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and it is one of the fastest growing fast food chains of the past several years. Many people, both every day food lovers and food critics writing for publications, have called it the best fried chicken fast food restaurant in the US, even better than Chick Fil A and Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen. The praise is primarily for the quality of the chicken tenders, being crispy on the outside yet tender and moist on the inside, and for the famous Raising Cane's sauce. Just called, "Cane's Sauce," it is hailed as a legendary sauce and hands down the best fast food dipping sauce around, even better than the Chick Fil A sauce.
Is all this hype warranted though? Is Raising Cane's worth the hype? Or is Raising Cane's overrated? We will try Raising Cane's for the first time today and decide if their chicken and Cane's sauce really lives up to the hype, or if it is all just social media hype and nothing more. We will not just review Raising Cane's, we will review the Raising Cane's NYC location, specifically their Raising Cane's Times Square flagship location. We will try the Raising Cane's chicken tenders, the Raising Cane's chicken sandwich, the Raising Cane's sauce, and the Raising Cane's sweet tea. We will just provide our opinion on the restaurant, rather than answer the question of Raising Cane's vs Chick-fil-A or Raising Cane's vs Popeye's. The restaurant is wildly popular so regardless of my opinion, let me know yours! It must be popular for a reason so it is likely I just have a particular taste, so let me know what it is you like about Raising Cane's, or what it is you dislike about it.

Man, that ‘toast’ barely touched the table. You breathe in more germs than what would be on that.
Eat it.
This comment sounds demanding as hell lol. Relax 😂
Facts he got me irritated
I agree. lol
I guess you don’t believe in the 5 second rule when you drop food. 🤣
the same thing happened to me when I was at canes yesterday, but my broke ass ate it anyway.
Can’t say I blame him, I’ve seen a lady changing a diaper on the table at a Pizza Hut before.
I wouldn’t even consider that a drop 😅
@@jakem9599 even if you have money, very unattractive to by a new piece of bread because it landed on the table. Just naive, like you think thats the determinate factor in the communication of germs? there's 100 things he and everyone else does on a daily basis which are probably far more consequential. Plus, how clean you think the workers putting your food together are?

I'm just impressed you braved Times Square at 7pm with all the tourists around!
Yes something few locals would do, but he needs the content creation so it was a work gig. He even went to a mall NJ to eat a bad burger.
As a Canadian , I went to my first Raising Canes in Las Vegas … I thought they tasted pretty dang good .. but we don’t have a lot of chicken tenders competition back where we live
How do they compare to White Spot?
@@dontbedummy8101 better than the Spot
Here in Texas it's considered the most flavorless chicken in the game. And the sauce is mostly mayo, ketchup and Worcester sauce
Yup! Place is bland trash!
Raising Cane's is textbook definition of "mid", that's why so many youngsters gravitate towards it. Their tastebuds don't know any better. If it's Mac and Cheese or chicken tenders, it's the best food in the world. 😄
Canes is a very solid place if you love canes sauce, otherwise it’s quite bland. Luckily I love the canes sauce so I enjoy canes quite a bit.
Exactly.
Yea it's definitely mids.
Disagree. It’s taking one thing and doing it well. It’s consistent, which is high praise for fast food. Getting it to go is not nearly as good as eating it fresh, and extra sauce is a must. It does vary by location, but only slightly.
“Mid” got to be one of the lamest slang words ever to do it
Raising Canes is overrated no doubt about it.

I recently had Raising Cane. I don't think it's worth the price. I found the chicken fingers rather bland, if I must be honest. If I cannot enjoy a restaurant's chicken fingers or chicken nuggets or even chicken without the sauce, I really don't see any point in trying them again. I even tried sauce with my chicken fingers and still found them underwhelming. The only item I had really enjoyed was the Texas Toast.
UA hates trans people, please don’t support him!
The 3 finger combo is under $10.00
@@csmarsh1957 That's nice.
The price? Their prices are low compared to other chains.
In Phoenix we get a 4 piece with friends, toast & a drink for $11 & my wife & I split it & it fills us both.
That’s less than $6 per person.
A breakfast biscuit at McD’s is $7 these days & definitely won’t fill you.
@@DM-il1hf That's nice. I'm just not a fan of Raising Cane.
Never heard of the 5 second rule bro? That toast is definitely suitable to eat!
Not in the Covid era. Be safe.
I've been there many times and recently not liking it as much. The prices increased astronomically and often I'm feeling that the sauce is the main attraction. Popeyes and KFC have much better breading
OMFG I cannot believe Box Combo is 14.69 in NYC- in 2021 in Chicago it was 7.99.
PS- Extra canes sauce is a necessity at Canes. Though I dont think ill be back till I get a high paying job lmao
UA hates trans people, please don’t support him!
I've tried Raising Cane's only once and remember being so underwhelmed by it. These days I'm craving more Dave's hot chicken and other spicier options. You should do a Nashville hot chicken video!
Cane’s chicken has almost no flavor unless you use the canes sauce. I’ve found that if you don’t like canes sauce, canes is very underwhelming. Luckily I love the canes sauce so I do enjoy canes.
Yeah I found it very mediocre at well. But it's a chain of chicken fingers, so wasn't expecting anything great.
@@RicardoSanchez-es5wl”unless you use the sauce” omg that’s why it comes with the sauce “the chicken is bland” because they put all the seasoning in the sauce that’s why it’s so salty just shut up
Daves is one of better new ones. Ive been seeing them get more locations outside of california. Im lucky I have one near me.
@@lactoseunintolerant5076imagine getting offended by a raisin canes comments 😂 judging by your name your one of those people.
Great timing on this review UA. A Raising Cane's is opening by me in 4 days.
They’ll let you sub out the slaw for extra toast.
And when you order, pick mean size first, then drink, then slaw or extra toast. That’s how they’re system is set up & they’ll love you for going in that order.
The 4 piece fills my wife & I & it’s $10 plus tax.
Enjoy!
Glad to see UA is back with his signature move,.. thump point ''I'm UA''.
Worcestershire sauce is pronounced “WUSS-ter-shur”. Appreciate your honest reviews and keep up the good work!
Bruh, I just saw you on LegalEagle's channel for your BeastBurger review. Awesome to see big youtubers including you in their content.
Best fast food I've ever had is Culvers. Great service, as well. Amazingly consistent.
Culver’s is the best! So good
The South and sweet tea: The South is where they add tea to their sugar.
Wor-chester-shier is the gift that keeps on giving ;) Us Brits pronounce it as "Woo stir Sauce" But if you insisted on adding the 'shire' part, you'd say "Woo stir sher Sauce" but obviously as one entire word, not separated into syllables. The English language and pronunciation is difficult and often contradicts. If you've heard of the town, Leicester, it is pronounced as "Lester".

I cant believe you didnt eat the bread because it touched the table lmao! Holy you grew up in the 90s,love your show.
Public table at Times Square… I wouldn’t have eaten it either.
In the Covid era it’s not worth the risk.
@@deenyc1049this right here. Purple don't understand what it's like in Times Square. If they do, and they'd still eat it off the table, they are some nasty mfs 😂
The best fast food chicken fingers by far. I've tried Chik Fil A once, wasn't impressed. Superb moist white meat, not greasy or oily. Popeyes is extremely oily.
Going to Raising Canes is like buying sauce with free chicken on the side
The chicken itself to me is bland, their sauces are what put them on the map
Exactly. The chicken has no flavor.
Now I can’t trust this guy’s reviews on food if he actually liked the chicken.
@@jesuslazalde9245you must have not watch his review, he compared it to other fast food spots and ranked it Lower than Popeyes, chic fil a , and jolibees
Thier sauce ain't all that either.
UA hates trans people, please don’t support him!
It's strange that they put such a large focus on their chicken tenders when they have to rely on dipping sauce to make it taste good. I had the tenders before and the tenders by themselves were no better than the tenders you could get at Popeyes or even KFC imo. At the time, I also thought the fries were mid and the Texas Toast wasn't anything special.
UA, love your videos and I don't say that often! Please keep up the good work.
People seem to not care about the value of speed and convenance. Sometimes I prefer getting food quickly and no fast food joint beats Raising Cane's speedy service. 3-5 minutes at the drive through and you're on your way.
I went yesterday, it was EXTREMELY packed but the food was 10/10! Idk how they even keep up with the orders. They called me order and some lady bumped into me a spilled some of her drink on me. If you’re claustrophobic this is NOT the place for you unless you go on a slow weekday. This place is going to take over Times Square
One opened in the smallish city where I live and it was mass hysteria for the first month. Police directing traffic, barriers up to prevent illegal left turns into the parking lot, people parking in the residential neighborhoods. There is definitely a lot of hype. I haven’t tried it. Prefer Popeye’s but maybe someday when the hype has died down! Great review! The fries looked mouthwatering, by the way. Love crinkle cut fries and it’s rare to find them at chains.
Thank god UA I followed some of your tips for my 1st trip to NY this past summer. But if you had given this a high rating there's no way I could watch your videos 😂 anyways thanks for the tips it made my trip that much more memorable.
UA hates trans people, please don’t support him!
Where I live it's a popular fast food place for high school kids.
I am from Malaysia. I remember back in 2019 when it was my first time in the US and had my first Raising Cane's in Houston Texas, I was so amazed as the chicken tenders are much bigger compared to this, and so good too. It actually left a very good impression on me. Nevertheless, Raising Cane's was named after the owner's dog makes it even special in my heart. I am not sure how it's been now, but I am glad that it makes it this far. Great video!
Edit: It's in San Antonio, sorry :)

they changed suppliers and it isn't the same chicken anymore :(
@@brandonrath619 I see. Sad to hear that.
Zaxbys is more flavorful than Canes imo for chicken fingers
I actually like raising Cane’s because when I did cook big construction jobs they was more than willing to accommodate the needs of myself and cruising the food is awesome specially if you working hard like you work in big Hart jobs you want all that grease and fat you’ve that’s something that you want when you’re doing you know industrial construction so I like it a lot I enjoy raising canes is really awesome
Fairly accurate review. Make sure the fries are hot or you get fried rocks.
do you really think the surfaces the food is made on is cleaner than the table you are eating on?
Try it in Houston. I LOVE IT!! I am afraid to get it in Times Square. Having grown up in NYC in the 60s, 70s I just get a gut feeling that most things there are for tourist attractions and not really care put into it. BTW I am not a fan of chick fil A anywhere.
I place Raisin Canes firmly in the "good but overrated" category.
I think it's overrated in the north because people don't know about it. In the south it's just a regular spot, but a good one. Now they need to bring zaxby's up.
That sure did not look like any thing special enough for me to fight the crowds there ;) Enjoyed your review!
Trade secret, next time get the sandwich on toast and ask them to butter the toast on both sides. Definitely ups the flavor.
Butter the toast on both sides? Doesn't that mean it's going to be a mess to eat? Or did I misinterpret something?
A mess? Butter? They give you napkins. 😂
@@josepherhardt164you’re slow man you put the butter on the inside not outside
It’s not that the sauce dominates the flavor of the chicken there’s just no flavor in their chicken! The bread and sauce are the best things about Canes! CANES IS VASTLY OVERRATED!!
That’s why it comes with the sauce silly
best food videos on youtube its like the best channel i get excited im like a NEW UA!!!
I mean it’s solid- not amazing or not bad- just kind of hits the spot
Used to go there with my roomate in college and was always just good- but when I ate it I wasn’t comparing it to other spots, just kind of hit that craving
You're already starting off from a bad point.
Popeye's chicken socks kyo KFC blows them away.
Popeye's chicken all crunch, no Flavor
UA, what happened to the five second rule for your toast?
During my travels down south, I enjoyed Canes but liked PDQ even better (I do hope they're still around). As with Chickfila though, I am not a fan of the hype.
I don't like their toast nor the sweet tea, but I just had Caine's for lunch today in So Cal. It was good and the chicken was moist and tender. A very consistent meal. Popeye's used to be better than now. IMHO.
UA hates trans people, please don’t support him!
Next time, order two tenders, two toasts and make your own sandwich. The fries suck. The best thing is their sweet tea💜
Ask for the fries extra crispy
We love raising canes, but some locations are better than others. We usually go to the ones we know are consistently good.
UA hates trans people, please don’t support him!
The raising cane’s in Louisiana are better. That toast didn’t even look like it was buttered.
They need to do the chicken sandwich on Texas Toast.
I've eaten multiple times at Cane's, Popeye's, and Chik-fil-a. I like them all (though I haven't been to CFA for years), but Cane's is easily the blandest chicken. Their tenders are basically just a vehicle for the sauce, which is quite good, IMO. Popeye's chicken - especially their sandwich - is the best in my view.
Before the Vid watch …great filming my friend , rather unique for the wider channel types viewers, from a sort of different perspective..hey now
The sauce is essential man! I see canes as its own category of chicken. Good for a very particular moment/feeling, like after a baseball game, or after not eating all day, or after a long day of travel...something like that.
The cane sauce is the reason to stop there. But 80% of the time I am going to Chic filet
I really didn't think you would like it. I never get tired of it.
Had that once in the south- it’s beyond overrated. Average to poor and that’s why all those basics love it.
Ate at Raising Cane's ONCE! Never going back. RAISING CANE'S SUCKS!!!
Safe Journey! CHOLULA!!!
Or you’re taste buds are different.
I had eaten at a Raising Cain's location in Anaheim, California in April of this year. I thought it was the best chicken finger chain I had been to. And I've been to Popeye's, Chick Fil A, Sticky's Finger Joint, and a few more. I was excited to find out they were opening a Raising Cain's in NYC. Then I went a month back or so when they officially opened. The tenders were good, but not as good as the ones in Cali. And the portions were smaller. And the fries were terrible. And the bread was soggy. I decided to give them a 2nd chance last week. Same problem. Smaller portions than the ones on the West Coast, terrible fries, so so bread. AND the worse thing? The price is $ 2.00 more. I'll try the 2nd branch that they are opening in a few weeks and see if its better.. if not.. no more Cain's here on the East Coast! Your review is Spot on for this location.
had tried one in pasadena,TX and the chicken was so soggy and alos underwhelming.
did you try blue ribbon chicken or 375 chicken n frys? those might be top 2 in nyc right now
That's funny you went to NYC to eat at chains. MUCH better options
I tried both-Blue Ribbon was good but not that unique-375 Chicken I flat out didn't like. @@donkey916

Gas Station chicken is better than Raising Canes. Krispy Krunchy Chicken operates in gas stations and their chicken blows canes out of the water.
Another great review
You better 5 second rule that bread son
Name a better chicken tender that's comparable in price.
Jack in the box, spicy tenders
The sauce carries. The place overall is pretty mid.
a DJ inside of a fast food place, why? 🤔
Anyways, I'm here because of your honesty. Keep it up
I can't believe so many people think their dipping sauce tastes good! It's weak AF and nothing compared to Chick-Fil-A's sauce which is even sold in Walmart and grocery stores. Their honey mustard sauce is weak too. My mouth dropped when I first asked for BBQ sauce and they don't have it. Seriously?? The breading is weak, and the chicken was bit on the dry side along with costing $8.00 for four tenders.
Would it be possible to preview Ben & jacks steakhouse on E44 st as we will be visiting there in November 23
Had it a few years ago at their location in Massachusetts and was honestly not impressed. Food wasn't bad per say but definitely not worth the hype. It can't hold a candle to Chik Fil A which might hands down be my favorite place for good fast food.
Overrated
It's definitely better than chick fil a
UA. The table was clean bro. You have an immune system.
Your supposed to put the tender on the toast with the sauce.
I agree with your review as usual. This place doesn't deserve the hype.

They are meant to be dipped in the sauce.....just like Jollibee's.
Chic fil a chicken is tastier. But the fries at cane’s are better. Also, the lines at Chic Fil A tend to be longer. Also, I think you should try it at a less crowded spot.

Worcestershire sauce. I've heard it as WUSS-ter-sheer. Back in the 1960's, Flip Wilson (a black comedian) had a bit on his show that claimed it was originally called "black sauce," until a patron walked into a black-owned Southern restaurant once and said, "Hey, wha's dis here sauce?"
If you ever go to England, try not to pronounce Cholmondeley. :)

Man, you literally didn't eat that toast? That's absolutely laughable. You lost all your credibility. 🙄🤦🏻♂️
Sauce is nothing to hang their hat on, but people do for some reason. Bring in multiple sauces and it will be better. You can't compare this place to other restaurants because they serve real chicken with bones among other things.
I don't know why people visit NYC to eat at chains..especially in Time Square.
Eating a fast-food chain at Times Square would seem to me and most people to be a whole cynical L, honestly, since it's obviously not about food and more about widespread appeal to make more money. I mean that's cool but if you go to a place like NYC, especially Manhattan, or even here in LA, only choosing to hit up fast-food chain spots then everyone should be disappointed. People are interested if and when you hit up unique, regional spots with good reputations more than anything.
Don't go to franchise restaurants, give your local mom and pop restaurants your support instead.

He's in times Square, where the whole world passes through there, so not surprised.
Their chicken is good I don’t like the fact all they serve is their canes sauce. If they had a ranch or bbq it would be better. Not everyone likes that mayo ketchup paprika sauce
I get the feeling UA doesn't know what an actual chicken "tender" is and is confusing it with a chicken strip which can be longer.
I like those fries too. You wouldn’t mind the Sandwich format if you could use 2 hands LOL.
I tried once was very bland and unflavorful. Don't see what all the hype is about many better tenders.
That's what I thought. Thank you, sir! 😊
Just dip less sauce.
Only white meat? Why do so many chains do this?
The texas toast is better when you dip it in the Cane’s sauce
Lemonade is better there
Maybe if you didn’t wait 15 minutes to eat, it would have been better. Come on.
Raising Canes is bland and nasty. The cane sauce tastes like the seasoning that should be on the chicken.
Do to the spice level Popeye's for the win🐔
