Phyllis was a phenomenal talent. She was reportedly also bipolar and very difficult to work with. A talented, troubled soul. Hope she now has her peace.
One of the Greats!! Gone to soon. Suicide.... Loneliness even tho she was "Famous"! Living All Alone is one of her best! Keep up the Great reactions!!! 👍
Sincerely miss her AF! A true Goddess and Queen if there ever was one. There was no match for that sultry sound. She owned it loud and clear. So many of her songs are extremely memorable and much loved. Thanks for bringing her back to the forefront with this reaction video!
Lil sis lol sooooooooo many songs to do.....You have to hit the disco scene.....Next song with a video..."Thelma Houston" "Don't leave me this way" classic!!
Phylis Hyman died of a drug overdose. She was serious business and a true talent. She wasn't about gimmick but the record labels were. With her fine ass.
Ms. Hyman did indeed take her own life. I’ve never heard the cause and it may have been a drug overdose but I think it’s important to make the distinction because there is a difference between taking one’s life and an accidental drug overdose.
Keep posting this caliber of music and I'll keep giving you 'like's. 1979 was a great year for music. "You Know How To Love Me" and "Haven't You Heard" by Patrice Rushen. The amount of appreciation you have for Phyllis Hyman's superb vocal talent and skills at 5:54 of this video is visible and appreciated, JT.
Gurl had some pipes… talk bout underrated

Isn't this such a great little gem? My favorite ditty by the late, great Ms. Hyman.
