My Mother was from Knockmore Ballina. Lived on Lough Conn. We went to visit the family and farm many times while I was growing up. I was there in 1980 then went back in 86. Some things were a bit different and my Gran had passed. R.I.P I wasn't able to go back until 2018 and was in utter shock. There were so many people and cars in Knockmore it was unbeilivable. We always knew the people passing on the road and now don't have a clue who they are. So many immigrants, it was very strange. I know some things have made huge convience for the farmers. But I want my Ireland back that I grew up spending my whole summers.

I wish whoever was responsible for the factual content were a bit more honest about how good the Moy is. It is a shadow of its former self in relation to salmon catches, this last season only 313 fish had been caught. Please don’t mislead people!

Chalk that down to the Moy fisheries indiscriminate trapping of salmon in the salmon traps.. they like to blame drift fishermen .but the real culprits are the English river landlords.
And whats there to do to a working class family. Please tell me. ex. prices for fishing salmon, eating hotel-dinner and staying Commerce is the name of the game

Its no longer the salmon capital of anything,salmon stock are down 80% i have fished the moy for 35 years since i was a child and its fucked because of mans relentless greed.
