🥚Jackie and Shadow have withdrawn from their unhatched eggs. On 4/11, one egg was broken and disappeared in the bowl. It is unclear if there was any development inside. On 4/13, Jackie consumed at least one remaining egg (no signs of development). The last (third) egg still remains in the nest (hidden in fluff).

Okay, this was too funny, I can't resist narrating the opening...lol
Shadow catches a fish, sees the nest is empty and heads home for a quiet meal. He lands and within seconds he hears Jackies call in the distance.
Shadow: "darn, she saw me", maybe if I don't answer she'll think I didn't hear her. I better eat fast before she gets here.
Jackie flies in:
Jackie: Shadow... how sweet, you brought dinner.
Shadow: back off Jackie, I caught it first, I eat first...
Jackie: You're right honey, I'm sorry, I'll just go over here and tidy up while you finish... sure smells yummy, you'll save me some, right? Shadow, you are going to share, aren't you?
Shadow munches on the fish knowing, it just a matter of time before Jackie comes begging, and sure enough, here she comes with that pretty shiny beak, and those luscious brown feathers singing with that soft shrill...
Jackie nuzzles in closer and closer tucking her beak down to Shadow's claw where the fish entices her to nibble... Shadow hypnotized by the gentleness of his true love, Shadow releases his catch into the grateful jaws of his hungry sweetheart, and the love grows...

Could be wrong but I've always felt in the year or so I've been watching the feed that when Shadow brings a fish to the nest it is meant for Jackie....and when he wants something wholly for himself he takes it elsewhere.

I think when Shadow has a fish he is not willing to share he stays away from the nest. He knew Jackie would see him and come get some fish when he flew to the nest. I bet there was some mating later😉

It’s nature, female eagles are larger than males. She doesn’t ‘steal’ it, he gifts it to her. It is all part of nature and the way they do things…
@@CoExist64 exactly. Females are always the boss of the nest. The great thing is that she allowed him to eat his favorite part, and was sweet about snatching it, even though yes, it was a gift. This says a lot about their magnificent pair bond, which is the best there is in the eagle world. This pair is special and amazing 💖

I can’t believe Shadow would eat before Jackie
Well, I must admit to being disappointed that Shadow let Jackie take that fish from him. At least he got the head first. Their stick wrangling and rearranging must mean something; it sure is entertaining to watch. Thanks for another laugh-filled video, Cali, it was much appreciated. 😊
The more I observe, the more I’m convinced Jackie needs help feeding herself. I suspect it’s due to that arthritic claw of hers. She never looks as robust in the crop-region as Shadow does - and he has youth on his side to boot.
Anyway, Shadow wouldn’t have brought the fish to the nest unless he intended for Jackie to have a portion. Remember that Shadow usually brings the fish headless - which shows he eats elsewhere.
It does seem that the head is his favorite part - perhaps he’s partial to the squishy eyeballs. 👀
Working on the nest together strengthens their bonds. They are truly spectacular majestic birds.
I haven't heard the creaky sound previously. I wonder if there has been a stick placed against the camera housing?

Every time I see them the words of the song “Let’s Stay Together” runs through my mind! “Whether times are good, bad, happy or sad…” Yeah, they’re staying together!
Just a devoted couple. Shadow devotes on Jackie and their bond is so strong. Even though they haven't had babies in two years these two are still a strong nesting pair. Shadow would do anything for his lady love. And Jackie would be lost without him. Beautiful birds that I hope enjoy the off season!!!

Shadow wanted to enjoy his own lunch for once! Of course, Jackie squealed and whined until he gave in and let her have the headless bulk of it. It kills me when I see the tail go down their throats. Gulp! And they kissed and made up. They really are a couple, through and through.
So happy you don't add written narration of what these birds are "thinking". I like to see their names on the screen because I can't tell them apart but they aren't people and don't worry about "people" things. Sure hope Jackie lays more eggs. I'm really enjoying their interactions and I'm amazed at how devoted they are. Thank you
We should all take the time with our kids to teach them more about the beauty, joy and fun to be had in nature and have them watch how two beautiful Eagles interact so caring and lovingly with each other , instead of classes like govt. lol and maybe the next generation would be better than this one is ❤️Jackie and Shadow have so many lessons they can teach us about cooperation and love because most humans are failing that subject 🦅🦅

These videos are the only ones I watch the SAME footage, often on the same day, posted by Cali, SK, Baiba, the regulars. I love all of them, Baiba's arrangements and music accompaniment, some commentary, and Cali's descriptions and labels as Jackie and Shadow arrive. My parakeets respond to Jackie's feesh (funny, auto correct replaced feesh with greedy!!) song, and to those times when other birds sing while Jackie and Shadow chortle out of view. These videos are MEDICINE for fear, discontent and worry. Thank you all, and FOBBV, for all that you do!
