Wonderful I'm glad, I'm not much of a landscape painter (doesn't hold my interest) aside from fields of flowers :-) But this intrigued me and I just had to give it a go. I Hope you do too, its awfully fun! Happy painting friend.
Debbie, thank you souch for this lesson. I live in New Mexico and am surrounded by mountains. This was extremely helpful and now I'm going to give it a go. Greetings from Albuquerque 💗
How beautiful that must be we are surrounded here too, Mt Baldy, and right now the mountains are all covered in snow, it is so beautiful especially when the sun comes out. I'm thrilled you are going to give it a go, remember to hold your "damp" not "wet" brush horizontally skim the topo of the paper. Have fun friend! I think I would love NM, Maybe I will visit one day and paint Plein Air!
Yes, I still do that, glad to hear because I said to myself, "am I going def" He has such a gentle calming voice doesn't he. I was thrilled I could find way to replicate some of his technique into watercolors. I Hope you give this technique a try! Its a lot of fun
🌟🌟 ✨Debbie✨ I must say, extremely well done! I love your spectacular tribute to Bob Ross with your personalized techniques!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! ❤ for taking your valuable time to share your wonderful creativity with us!
My pleasure always. I felt I just had to figure out how to modify his techniques for watercolors because it looked so fun. I hope you are inspired to give it a try. Have fun friend!
Thank you Chantelle, I'm not usually drawn to landscapes for some reason, unless they are colorful, unique or fields of flowers! But he inspires me so much I just had to honor him and try his technique watercolor style! I hope you give dry brush a try, its awfully fun.
Debbie, you fixed it! Yay! This is awesome! How you use a different medium and incorporate it into a Bob Ross! Love this~ and btw... You came out of your comfort zone 😜 You do great landscaping girl! You do!!!! I'll have to TRY and do this! I need to practice more of the dry painting! I haven't done much of it! Love ya friend ❤️✝️🙏🏻
My goodness, lesson to self! When in bed tired shut the computer and come back to it in the morning! lol. my goodness :-) Indeed, Im just not drawn to landscapes for some reason, traditional ones anyway. This was so much fun! and it was a bit out of my comfort zone and truly Bob Ross I know is smiling down at me somewhere for honoring him ( I Hope ) I cant wait for you to give it a try friend. Love you and hugs friend!
Here in California I've only seen photos, so I am so happy those made sense, I wondered about that :-) It was such a fun technique to play with, I hope you were inspired to give it a try, and we can all channel our inner Bob Ross! Happy painting friend.
It was indeed my pleasure to play with his techniques and modify them for watercolors. And honored to pay him tribute, he was an amazing artist indeed, and such a kind man so it seems. His animals and such. I have friends in our garden as well, squirrels (like Bob)that we feed peanuts and veggies occasionally, they will take them right out of my hand. We name them all. A tortoise, we rescued named Speedbump (since he was a baby and walking down the middle of the street, noone claimed him by the way) And two guinea pigs we adopted Tye and Hennie they are all just wonderful companions, Oh, and Bubbles 2, our Moon Beta. so I am quite busy and surrounded by little adorable beings :-) Happy painting friend! May you also be surrounded by what brings you joy and inspiration
I like this very awesome. I didn't think you could do this in watercolor but I guess you can! I love Bob Ross 😍 ♥️. Of course he's passed away now but he had inspired me for years. Have a great day. Oh by the way Emma Fav the watercolor artist did a painting like Bob Ross does too. Look it up it's cool too. 😎 JK FLORIDA USA 🇺🇸.
He is so relaxing to watch isn't he, and makes everything look so effortless~ I didn't either and finally I had to think and figure out how to modify the technique with watercolor supplies and Viola! Its such a fun easy technique I hope you give it a try. Happy painting friend, May we all channel a bit of Bob Ross today! Emma did too!!! wow, I will definitely look that up. I thought I was so excited I though I was being so original. lol
Yes, Bob Ross uses lavenders, and blues for shadowing especially with snow. If I can create a landscape that is pretty and not too complicated I really enjoy them, If I have to ad too much detail I am not interested :-) I noticed I Never purchase landscapes either? Unless its a beautiful field of flowers~ Happy "landscaping" friend Most of all have fun
It was so much fun, I hope you will give it a try, the trick is really as simple as a damp brush not wet, and holding your brush horizontally to only skim the rough parts of the paper. (Rough press paper also helps a lot for this technique) Happy painting friend and have fun!
My pleasure always Amanda! Yes, I only painted the mountains, but a beautiful sunset in the back would be so beautiful. I did add more details after this video a well :-)
Thank you. I of course love florals but honestly I have wanted to try something like this! You have inspired me. 😊

Awesome! I remember watching Bob on sundays. He spoke so softly, I would lean towards the TV!

I've seen a lot of mountains and the morning mist will lay among the trees just like in your painting. A beautiful painting ❤

I think Bob Ross would be impressed by what you painted. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I’m not a landscape person either but this is an intriguing technique, seems simple but with a lovely outcome. Love the soft blue/mauve aura.
