I saw Lee Michaels and Frosty as an opening act for Grand Funk Railroad many years ago....such a great show!! One of the best parts was Frosty doing a very long drum solo on his kit with his bare hands!! They had the whole arena rocking!!

Lee Michaels was opening for Led Zeppelin at some point. John Paul Jones said that Michael's keyboard sound system was the loudest thing he ever heard.
Zeppelin, Lee Michaels, the Tubes, Roy Harper at Kezar Stadium, San Francisco 6/2/73. Lee was the best act that day. You can find Zeppelin's show from that day on You Tube.

To say I was excited when I saw you were reacting to this song is an understatement. I have been listening to this song since I was twelve years old back in 1971. Cool - I always liked the song, but I never knew much about him, and wondered what else he'd done. Just looked him up on Wikipedia, and he's still alive at 75, and it said 'Do You Know What I Mean?' was indeed autobiographical.

🤩👍👍 Love this song from my childhood!..and love Lee Michaels voice and his super talent on the Hammond organ. Hey Jamel, I recently discovered that Lee and his son are the owners of a favorite restaurant of mine- KILLER SHRIMP😋 in Marina Del Rey, CA. I've been going to this hip place since it opened in the late 80's. KS has the most incredible original Shrimp in spicy broth bowl, served with lots of french bread. Their sweet potato pecan pie is the best, served with a large dollop of chantilly cream on top. 😋...and a gorgeous view of the harbor 😊✌

Lee Michaels = super underrated. Great singer, writer, and a virtuoso on the guitar and piano, organ.
Very talented guy. Plus, I always dug the hair.💙
Cool - I always liked the song, but I never knew much about him, and wondered what else he'd done. Just looked him up on Wikipedia, and he's still alive at 75, and it said 'Do You Know What I Mean?' was indeed autobiographical.
"Ya Ya Song". From Lee Michaels Fifth
Ah!! Thanks for answering 2 questions for me!!
Thank you my friend for this one. Lee is one of my favorites.
Spouse honored me and Lee, by using this as his business phone hold music. Always dancing!
She's a dandy - yes indeed. She's a dandy, but now she's free. (He or she). Great southern blues rock...love that beat and that style. But Lee, you haven't loved me in nearly 4 years! You haven't noticed...that I held bk my tears. BUT...no! No cheatin'.. No shady grady! Lol
Another great Lee Michaels to check out would be Tell Me How Do You Feel from the Lee Michaels album.
I have heard this song many times. Never knew who did it! Thx
This was the first album I ever bought when I was 15. Absolutely loved this song.
So cool, Havent heard this in so long, love a good blast from the past...Peace
The first time that I heard this, I was a Junior in High School, 1973. Mr. Nighlander always had his radio on in his art classroom. One day, this tune came on, and he knew right away who it was. I found this LP in a used record store one day.
This song and Harry Nilson's Everybody's talking were a couple of my fav tunes when cruising on my motorcycle.
