    With 3 clients a day at an average of $50 per service you can make more than what you would at a regular job that's paying $15/hr. Its definitely a career. So many people are close minded and dont even understand the tax breaks for been an at home business owner!

      @@kiaracaskey349 this is a little late, but i currently am going to a trade school for cosmetology school while going to highschool. if you want to be just a nail tech, don’t go to cosmo school. i’m not dead set in being a nail tech, but i most likely will be one as i do nails on my own now. i’d recommend looking up schools near you that could certify you, which is what i’m in the process of doing. in my state, i can do nails with my cosmo license, but i want to go somewhere that will teach me what actually to do. i don’t learn much about nails, what i’ve learned is all on my own with trial and error

      @@kiaracaskey349 don't listen to them, you can bring in a lot of income being a nail tech. My family doubted me as well. Now everyone seems to be proud of me 🙄. They always want a discount on a set which I don't give. But look up schools for nail technicians. It's not easy but you can do it. Good luck

    I was forced into nails fulltime after being laid off. It's been hard. The hardest part was finding a nail home outside my garage. 8 months ago I moved into a private suite in a black female barbershop. It was the best decision ever!! I love this craft/skill/industry!! Thanks! And thank you @jammylita’s nails! I am starting school in a few weeks (a two month program and will be heading for the license test!). It took me a while to gain the confidence to actually take that big step for doing nails. I’ve always loved and enjoyed doing nails for fun. I never really looked at it like it can be a career (due to others around me saying it’s not really a career). But as a stay at home mom (not by choice literally had to quit my job because my kids are now remote school due to covid), I came back to this. Now I’m up for it and ready! I’m ready to learn properly and to have a set schedule that won’t budge with my kids learning. I’ve practiced a lot of thanks to your videos as others that I have Subscribed too. Very helpful and I’m very appreciative. I started doing family members nails and they are super shocked at how good I actually am (although I still think there is a lot of improvements that I need to do lol but I am thankful they did my work is good for a beginner!). I’m So passionate about this now and I will make this my career! Just wanted to share this with you beautiful ladies! Love what you do while doing what you love. Enjoy & have a blessed day ❤️

For me... there won't be any loss in going to school & learning about this art medium that I enjoy so much! I have a "feeling" I am going to love this. I learned long ago... follow your heart, do what you love & money will follow you. (This will be my 4th business, my 3 previous are still going... I just keep following my heart.

I know this world is full of those type of ppl which I wish one day will change for the better. 🙏🤞 We need to up lift, each other and give advice, not tear each other down or belittle someone else's dreams. Thanks Jammy for making this video and addressing that issue but YES, if its your dream, then make it happen! Plan, set goals and do you! Don't let anyone bring you down or tear your dreams apart. Your story really resonated with me. When I was younger (19 - 20 yrs old) I felt that people didn't see a job in becoming a nail tech as a 'real job', family and friends would turn their heads and spoke more about corporate roles...
    I would mess around with different nail designs, but sadly I gave it up because of peoples opinions. in my mid 20's I struggled with what I wanted to do as a career and by my late 20s I went into marketing which is great but I guess I thought about all the lost time if I had the courage to block out the sound and B line into the nail tech life.
    Long story short, I've now started a side business creating press-on nails and booked myself onto a nail tech course which will qualify me as a nail technician! (finally!)

    I was just browsing UA-cam for nail videos to watch and yours is the first to come up. This is the first video for you that I have watched and am not disappointed at all. I am at the point that point of giving up nails and your words of encouragement is truly what I needed to hear. Lost my job due to the pandemic which pushed me to finally going to nail school but even while in school I am still feeling discouraged. With my savings depleted, a lil one depending on me plus no way of even covering the cost for my nail supplies I really feel like giving up. I really love nails and want this as my career but with no one to encourage you, no materials and no help at all it does take a toll on you. I'm grateful for your words and say I'll continue this journey irregardless off the odds against me.
    My favorite color is purple so the set is lit. Awesome job you did there and keep up the good work. Continue to spread your encouraging words because you never know who will need it. I did and I'm glad I saw this video. New subscriber!

    Hey, Jammy! Very unique Valentine set in such a sweet color. I just love watching your artistry! Also your advice about pursuing your dreams is well taken and spot on! Looking back on a career that I loved, I feel as if I never "worked" a day in my life because I so loved what I was doing. Everyone who desires to achieve a career as a nail tech or as anything else should follow that dream to find fulfillment. It may take a while or require extra effort or training, but it is so worth it!! I second your inspiring words of wisdom for life and for nails. I am sure that your wisdom is just what some folks need to hear!! ❤️❤️🙏🏼

    Yes girl, I am 100% with you! I feel like if it’s your dream you should go for it. Specially if it’s something you are really passionate about.. And nothing, I repeat absolutely nothing in life it is given to you from 1 day to the other. You cannot go from step 1 to step 10 in your career if you know what I mean ..In between every step you take it’s like you’re earning that step after so much hard work and effort behind it.. I don’t know about many of y’all but I am willing to put that hard effort into my hustle to pursue my dream.

    I agree 100%! My passion has always been nails since I was in hs in the 90s. I worked in a salon for 10 yrs and listened to family members telling me it's not a "real job" even tho I was making great money. Even back then. Nothing like the prices charged now! I ended up going to college, stopping nails and trying to get into my new field...stuck in a receptionist job miserable. I have my masters in business (kept up my nail license too) I had to have surgery on both wrists due to carpal tunnel in both wrists (due to doing nails and computer work) now that I'm healed I'd love to get back into being a nail tech full time again. In the end my point is, follow your dream, your gut, don't listen to others. Now I have a huge college loan to pay off and not even able to use it. My dream is to own my own space like you mentioned too, and be my own boss. 💖😘💖😘🥰🥰🥰 tfs great video!

    Hey girl , love ur set so simple yet beautiful and yes I agree with you ...so many people do say that or they think it’s just a side thing? But I’m like ummm no it’s a job , cause girl getting a hang of not flooding the cuticle and shaping and art it is not easy at all ... when I started last year in feb it was to get off my mind of my grandma passing away and soon I was like I don’t love my job but I do love nails and like u said had no idea how to start . I ended up running into ur videos and with all ur help and encouragement I started and continued ,even last year started Cosmo school in November and now about to be done I believe 3rd week of March ... so yes it is dedication and time but u can only get better with time !!!! So thanks jammy even though i have never met u personally because ur in Florida and my butt is all the way in California I have learned so much from you and I am truly grateful and appreciative for teaching us on UA-cam. I think that being a nail tech is a real career if you’re really up to date with styles, continue practicing after graduating, and starting a social media to gain more clients. There are many nail techs out there that can only do the basics so you really want to higher your standards if you want to work for celebrities or just have more clients. Being creative and executing styles or an image someone gives you to create on site is mandatory

    • @Jammylita
      @Jammylita  3 роки тому +1

      That’s true ❤️ There is also clientele for specific nail artists too. You can have your own style and still have clients that like that specific look. I love ur motivational speech I'm not a nail tech but I love getting my nails done and I admire the people that do nails 🤣, but there's also nail tech that don't take there job r business serious so how am I r anyone else suppose to take them seriously ,no matter what job r career u have you'll always have r get disgusting customers but if wat ur doing is ur passion take one day at a time breathe slowly and keep moving forward .I myself wish to start doing nails one day like I said it's something I've always loved and admire and watching these vids on youtube lately have only encourage me more to do so , So a big thank you u my dear.

    Love this video and thank you for those encouraging words, I’m in Florida as well and it sucks you can’t work from home cause of the HOA community

    It's not easy when people criticize others & make someone feel horrible for suggesting their passion. NEVER allow Anyone to take away your dreams. These people are either jealous or have nothing better to do with themselves.
