This was a very useful video for people who are just getting started and need to learn how to use the programm. What I would have liked to see where more informations ony why we use the values that are shown and what they mean
Your tutorial is very useful! Thank you very much! Have you compared the calculated results with the experimental datas? Can you provide the literature related to this experiment?
Using Regions > VirtualWindtunnel > Boundaries and then edditing the boundaries doesnt give me the ability to adjust meshing paramters, i only get "Physics conditions and values". Do you have any ide what my mistace could be? I have obviously created a Mesh continoum already
Thank you for your comment! Note that the Region-based meshing is not available in the new versions of STAR-CCM+. You need to generate mesh using Part-based meshing. Please have a look at this video: ua-cam.com/video/kaCoBw8ynhM/v-deo.html
I am conducting a research on optimization shape of under water vehicles. I have done one simulation following your video on simulation of submerged body. Now if I just update the 3d underwater vehicle's geometry will the rest of the settings remain as it is?
Dear rachid tayeb, For this purpose, you need to draw a plane section, where the parts is set to the ship hull. This will create a curve on the ship where you can evaluate the pressure values. I hope this helps! Respectfully, Mojtaba Maali.
Dear Gyu Ahn, Thank you for your interest in this video. I have seen this expression in a paper, but unfortunately I can't remember which paper it was. As soon as I find the paper, I will share it with you. Respectfully, Mojtaba Maali.
This is only a rough guess as a starting point. You need to perform a mesh convergence study to verify the minimum number of cells required to obtain an accurate solution.
Thank you a lot for your video, I love to study Ctar-Ccm+ with you. I want to make a table for a velocity profile or temperature (velocity and temperature gradients), where velocity (temperature) depends on the height. Do you have some tutorial videos about it? Waiting for your answer.
Dear Maria, Thank you for writing! About importing the boundary conditions using a table, I haven't made any videos yet. For this, you can import the table by right-clicking on Tables under tools and choosing New Table > Table from Files. In the dialog box, you need to choose the table file, which must be in CSV format. The table normally has four columns, the first being the variable (speed or temperature) and the other three columns being the coordinates X, Y and Z. I hope this helps. Respectively, Mojtaba Maali.
@@CFD_Mojtaba Hi, dear Friend! I have a question about table for velocity inlet. Where do we set up this table - in boundary condition for inlet of wind tunnel or in initial conditions under the physics continuum?
Dear Somnath, Thank you for your interest in this video. To receive the x_t format of the geometry, send an email to this address: mojtaba@lts.coppe.ufrj.br Respectfully, Mojtaba Maali.

nice of nice sir, great to hear you
Very nice content, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for making this video!!
Great as always! Thank you!
Very good presentation, thank you!

@@CFD_Mojtaba thanks a lot
Very well-done!!
Great tutorial!
How do you mutli select the part and the wind tunnel, I am using a student version btw and I have trouble selecting both right now
You can do this by pressing down the control bottom.
@@CFD_Mojtaba thank you so much!

I believe so.
I have one question, why didn't you put any value in Reference pressure of Cp function field? Thank you!
Dear Jin,
The reference pressure is actually atmospheric pressure, which you define under physics, reference values.
Respectfully,
Mojtaba Maali.

Hello, I enjoyed the video.
Is there a paper about the expression of white (2006) in the video?
Dear Gyu Ahn,

@@CFD_Mojtaba thank you!!:)
Hello. Can I get an answer to the previous question? I want to write a paper using that formula, so I need a basis for that formula.

hi, could you provide an explanation on why a cell has to be developed for every 2 deg in the volume. Is there any thumb rule?

Dear @@Maria-73, it is best to apply these tables to both initial and boundary conditions.
