I just wanna say I appreciate vik being the most level headed sidemen and listening to literally EVERYTHING the others say and genuinely giving them time no matter how trivial it is
Vik the goat man
Facts
Fax
That’s a proper sign of intelligence. Open to discussion and willing to explain or even be open to a change in your personal interpretation of things. No matter how trivial, stupid, well-known, etc something or someone is.
And the Minecraft people still say he’s a know it all, arrogant and speaks too much.
I like this trio on this video, they let each other speak instead of talking over each other and they actually react instead of just watch the vid. More of these please

Welcome to British people
I game woth Americans all yhe time and they seem to remain quiet until their friend speaks then magically start interrupting like it's a normal thing to do.
For the most part being rude seems to be more of a yank thing.
People are rude in England but at least they let each other finish their debates before giving their own.
Ethan* cough cough
People say this with every trio
These are the perfect combination. Harry confused about every fact and question "How", Simon disagreeing with facts and Vik trying to explain every fact with pretty resonable answer.
I'm pretty sure Simon was just trolling because Harry was floundering.
vikkstar is a nerd he doesnt know shit he just pretending to be smart whatchu talking bout
Simon just tries to bring some humor in to lighten the mood 😂
@@nathanmitchell9695 I hope so, because he doesn't look very intelligent in this video.

As a physicist, Vik’s knowledge/understand is surprisingly very very good
Not surprising but hes very wrong about certain things but talks like he knows 100% what he's on about
@@jaredloveys9617he doesn’t , he tries to simplify it to the simpletons that are with him in the call. Imagine you as a physicist trying to explain something to a dog, well that’s he same thing with these sidemen people, Vik isn’t arrogant as you all see him.
@myst2212 it's not about arrogance cause he isn't that. It's about he's misinformed on a lot of things but thinks he's right by no fault of his own
He did study all three sciences at A level and they do teach some of this stuff in their courses.
Really? He said wifi signals reached the voyager probe. He’s not very knowledgable
This trio for such videos is top notch 😂
Vikk the megamind
Harry the questioner
Simon the person of both parties 😂😂
Whats funny is that Simon already reacted to this exact video about 2 months ago with Josh and Tobi. He even says "I feel like ive watched this video multiple times and forgotten everything".
i was gonna say, this feels mad familiar lol
I was thinking the exact same. I had to check the comments to see if I was going crazy
"Loudyear" -Simon
Harry getting his mind blown and questioning everything is top tier comedy 😂😂😂
vik identifying doppler shift and using it as an example, it reminds me he declined an offer to study natural sciences at UCL.
i forget he’s actually 5Head.
really enjoy him in the STEM related reacts.
9:11 Vik's guess is marginally correct for how they know what it looks like. As we are in the Milky Way, we cannot see it from the outside so scientists have to use techniques looking into the plane that we see from inside. Scientists cannot use visible light to determine what our galaxy looks like as it gets absorbed by lots of dust within the galaxy. However, there is also a lot of hydrogen in the Milky Way which emits radiowaves, and the different shifts in these radiowaves can be used to make a picture of what our galaxy looks like, aided by seeing the shape of other galaxies.
True, I guess you also follow some channels like astrokobi etc I do lol
They also measure the amount of dust in the Milky Way and the dominant colors of light they find and then, like you said, compare it to other galaxies. My question is how do we know it’s anywhere accurate if we have to make basically an educated guess?
Edit* reread your original post and saw you already mentioned the dust aspect. Brain skipped right past that part😅
The picture of the galaxy that is said to be the Milky Way galaxy is the Andromeda galaxy. Since we cannot see a birds-eye view of our own galaxy and we know that our galaxy is very similar to the Andromeda galaxy, we just use the picture taken of the Andromeda galaxy. Fun fact, you can see the Andromeda galaxy with your naked eye at places with very low light pollution. I saw it at a place in California once with my naked eye.
@@Joseph05227 yes true, When I was in my village in india I used to see so many of them, but now I’m in canada and light pollution is quite too much here:(
Ok 🤓🤓🤓🤓 but who asked 😢
Vik's attempts at even vaguely justifying the sheer expanse of space and the reasons why to Harry and Simon is so impressive. It is such a baffling concept as a whole and Vik identifying doppler shift as an example is so impressive and makes me respect him even more. Good work lads
Vik is a smart guy, clearly into STEM topics. It shows his level of knowledge and understanding to explain doppler shift for instance to simon and harry
he was offered a place at UCL to study natural sciences, his is definitely knowledgeable.
@@SeanSMST I was surprised he couldn't explain how we get the pictures back from our telescopes considering his knowledge on everything else. We just send out electromagenetic waves from the telescope mounted on the E.T device pointed towards Earth.
@@jcmcgee1573I reckon he would be able to, he just couldn't be asked be upset it's an in depth topic
@@jcmcgee1573 Concept of the video js fun not knowledge. Vikk clearly knew but decided not to dewll into it for the video
11:13, okay so I can help with that question Harry. You see, scientists use this thing (I forgot the actual name but I will tell you what it does) they take a continuous picture of a star and pass it through a spectrometer. Whenever a planet passes in between the Earth and the star, there is a dip in the intensity of the light and based on the dip, scientists can calculate the size shape, color, etc. I do not know that gravitational lensing does something while the scientist is taking these measurements but yeah that's pretty much it. But yeah, as you all may have guessed, the dip in intensity is really really small so they do need that precise and sensitive instrument
Easily one of the best sidemen reacts yet. Making jokes and funny banter rather than blankly staring at a screen.
Someone needs to make an 1 hour compilation of Harry's reactions 😂
Why tho. He's so dry most of the time

Gayyyy 🤮🤮
@@OK-mv4ihYOU HAVE NO HUMOUR

Harry and Simon are not philosophical

Nothing philosophical about saying 'I don't believe that' about science.
To answer the question at 5:00, the satellites transmit the images as radio waves back to Earth where they are received by massive radio dishes. The reason Wi-Fi signals have a relatively short range is mainly because they operate within a specific frequency band known as the "unlicensed spectrum." This spectrum is also shared by various other devices like cordless phones, Bluetooth devices, and microwave ovens. The limited range helps minimize interference between these devices and ensures that they can coexist without causing significant disruption to each other's signals. Additionally, Wi-Fi signals are affected by physical obstacles such as walls, floors, and other objects that can attenuate or weaken the signal strength. To maintain a balance between usability, efficiency, and interference, Wi-Fi technology is designed to operate within a range that provides a good balance of coverage and signal quality for most common use cases.
I don’t know why but Harry vibing to the music is a mood 11:33
5:43 Don’t think we didn’t notice, Vik.
3:59 Vik has improved a lot
This trio is golden, we need more of them together here.
I am an aerospace major and what I figured about layman knowing shit about space is almost zero to none (I am in the field of space still I find some things blowing my mind everyday), but vikk is on a different level. I know they are content creators and stuff so I don't aspect them to know much like harry and simone but vik's knowledge shocked me, man knows something about everything.
I just question how many videos the sidemen film a day 😂
They said in side + that it's like 1 day = 4,5 more sidemen videos and they randomly throw it in UA-cam after 2-3 weeks
Then sidemen reacts = they do in groups of 2,3,4 so 2 days 7,8 videos
Then sidemen sunday takes more time for setup, cast, camera, props, or if there is mukbang Or road trip then it's a lot of arrangements
So 3,4 day's for setting up and a single day of shoot, 2 days for road trips etc
The correct answer is not enough... NEVER ENOUGH❤

Please more videos like this! Love hearing harry pick these things apart
9:29 Wavelength shifts in light, also referred to as redshifts and and blueshifts are used to determine the velocity of stars or galaxies. This is thanks to the Doppler effect. You can hear it with sound as well: when you hear an ambulance coming towards you, the sound of the sirens is high-pitch (shorter wavelengths), and when the ambulance is moving away from you the sound has a lower pitch (longer wavelengths). This way, by analyzing the spectra of the stars and galaxies, astronomists can find shifts in wavelengths (blueshift when it is shifted towards the blues and redshift when it is shifted towards the reds) and determine at what speed celestial bodies are moving towards or away from us

Sometimes i think Vikk was always destined to become a scientist or engineer but somehow became a successful youtuber
He actually rejected the invitation to study in School of science
@@anshu_108 Good because literally 90% of the things he says or comments on is complete rubbish. Some things are marginally correct at most but majority of the explaining he does is completely wrong also googling thing is very bad way to fact check

@@mb_i5938 Googling in this context is completely fine. All the facts in this video were base level astronomical facts and observations that you won't need more than a google search to fact check them.
