I have adored Rita for almost literally my entire life, since the Electric Company. It was my absolute favorite show from my very early years. I have been a fan ever since. She is just so sassy and bright and such a delight. Thank you for this one. ❤❤
What an episode, it was so interesting being able to listen to some of her stories. Imagine being able to say I dated Elvis like what?! 😂 loving the podcast guys!
Ladies, I’m Puerto Rican and have to say that you wowed me with this episode. I didn’t know what a firecracker Rita Moreno was! How wonderful to hear all of her stories, especially about Marlon Brando. The respect in your eyes, Melissa. Just fantastic and inspiring on so many levels! Fabulous episode!
The fact that you did not feel forced to curtsey and melt for this legend shows greater strength than i could manage.😂 Not a diss. I have confidence in spades, but she would floor me.
Rita Moreno has got to be the youngest 90-year-old woman I have ever seen. My own grandmother is 92 and she wouldn’t be physically or mentally capable of managing even a fraction of what this Hollywood icon has on her plate at the moment. I was very grateful when Melissa asked her for tips on how to age gracefully because I soaked up every word she said, including drinking calcium-rich plant-based milk, using conducting as exercise, and walking backwards. Although her stories about dating Marlon Brando and Elvis Presley (including the physical behind the scenes!) were captivating, I especially enjoyed hearing about the highs and lows of her marriage to a Jewish doctor and the types of arguments they had because so many women can relate to these seldom talked about aspects of Hollywood romances. Also, wasn’t it lovely to hear Amanda and Rita humming the “Mary Tyler Moore” theme song together? Lastly, I’m glad the “how many unread emails” question is still around in Season Four because I finally got around to cleaning out my inbox in September (nearly 20 hours worth of work!) using tips from the show and wanted to revel in this small victory.
David o russel going off on Lily Tomlin was so uncomfortable. And even the scene when they are all in the car and Naomi watts tries to diffuse and lily shits her up. I mean i get it I’m getting abused on set and someone speaks up to try and “diffuse”
