In the 1970s and 1980s, dance films and their soundtracks were extremely successful. Think of Saturday Night Fever (1977), Fame (1980), Grease (1978), Dirty Dancing (1987) and Flashdance (1983). Frank Bernaerts made an impressive medley for concert band, fanfare and brass band entitled “Dance Movies Highlights!” which opens with the well-known “Twentieth Century Fox Fanfare” followed by “Stayin’ Alive”, “Fame”, “Hopelessly Devoted To You”, “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life” and “Flashdance… What A Feeling”.
