Horizon Insider Tech Talk: Pro Boat Sonicwake Night Boat
In this edition of Horizon Insider, Kyle introduces his latest project: A "night" version of the Pro Boat Sonicwake! Essentially, Kyle borrowed technology from the E-flite Night Radian FT 2.0m plane and installed a few LED pods to illuminate both the hull and the wake/roost behind the boat!

@@horizonhobby what are the best batteries that you recommend for it? I bought 2 power hobby pro limo 5200mah 50c 3s 3cell 11.1v batts but Im told there not good for it? tell me what you recommend?
@@DronemanJoeRc Anything that is rated at 50C or higher "should" be able to deliver. That being said, all manufacturers rate their batteries differently. It's worth trying what you already purchased. If they can't deliver the power output, the boat will jump into LVC mode even on a full charge.
@@horizonhobby ok I will give them a try and thank you for responding my friends but I think I would like to get those smart batteries they seem to be the best? with my spektrum s2100 charger I just got from you.

Hey from up here in Canada! Just bought this boat and the same 6s spektrum battery bundle you use. New to the RC boating world so I have a question. How long do the batteries take to charge and do they have to cool down before charging again? Thanks for the help!
Drew, that all depends on what charger you are using. The batteries themselves don't really "need" to cool down, but it never hurts. Check out this article: www.horizonhobby.com/blog-wattage-vs-amperage.html

Not a fan of the lights but the boat is off the charts especially when you hook up a Dual Rudder Pick to it and stick on there a Dashboata Prop!

Can you give a link to the spot lights and light bar? I am looking for some for a plane.. Looks good like to see at night on the water.
I need support, I have a sonickwake so far I have swam without sticking the tape on the flap and you know after turning over the water is inside. yesterday I taped the tape and after 1 turn I would say that the same amount of water was in the middle, where the water gets ?? if the boat does not capsize, there is no water.
What prop would you suggest for a bit higher top speed without causing excessive heat and killing the run time?
Guys, I have an sr80 and want some orange leds, but not sure how to run the lights on the top and wire it in to connect the battery

yea, id just like mine to run more than 5 min without trashing the prop shaft, stuffing tube and losing the prop....should be a really good time after i figure out how to make it actually work....was the designer previously a weather forecaster? bc in my job, you fu*k up, your out.... lights tho...yea cool. ill know where my boat is dead in the water....yay
