There is a definite majesty to Sol. It dances and sings while hanging effortlessly in the unseen web of the cosmos. A mere speck on the grid of space-time yet it plays the role of guardian to us all. Surely it's understandable why so many past civilisations worshipped it's presence. It brings warmth to the countryside and light to darkness. Now we see Sol as a means to clean energy and more. Perhaps it's not worship we practice today but an appreciation on a new level is absolutely here to stay.
This never ceases to inspire me, year after year. :) And I have a question if anyone would like to jump in - How does the SDO deal with getting head on with the ejected material. At the :49 mark, it looks like it is right in the path of a CME - what are the conditions of the space around the SDO as such a huge burst of energy rushes by it. Thanks again for keeping us all enthralled with these mesmerizing videos.
I love to look at our Sun, for me, she or he, is like an Angel. "Thank you" to all people, who made this looking to the sun possible, we are the first ones what have this awesome view :)

I wished NASA more of our tax dollars. This is science at its best and more research needs to be done to study our solar system. Thank you, to the scientist of NASA for everything you do to make life interesting.
Wow! Just beautiful! And so mind-boggling and enormous are events on the surface of the sun, compared to even the most massive events on planet Earth. Yet the sun with its equivalent of millions of hydrogen bombs exploding all at once, is infinitesimally tiny and insignificant compared to what most physicists now agree is not just the unimaginably large universe we live in, but the multiverse - the almost infinite number of universes (but not quite infinite), of which we are a part and "in" which we exist. It makes our lives simultaneously astounding and meaningless at the same time.

The SDO was built and launched into orbit by highly skilled Scientists and Engineers, to study Our Star, The Sun. That's correct Wendy, in case you didn't know, The Sun is a "G2V" yellow dwarf Star.
