I used orange marmalade with some crushed red pepper flakes as a glaze for my salmon BECAUSE, I was an idiot at grocery store. Forgot normal stuff&had hungry people waiting &no time to shop. Now it fam fav
My Dad made Mum and us klds a 4 or 5 course meal one wedding anniversary when i was a kid and one was this orange glazed salmon that to this day almost 30 years on was the best salmon i have ever had.
Omg I use orange marmalade on my salmon too! 😮😊 For years, over and over, I would try salmon hoping I would like it and I just. never. did. I was frustrated because I wanted to like it! So i promised myself I would try one last time. I put orange marmalade on it for the sweetness and I was In heaven!!! Now that’s the only way I make it!!! 😋
Another great, super simple preparation is to just sprinkle the salmon with decent quality soy sauce. Run it under the broiler for 5 minutes, turn the heat off, and leave in the oven for an additional 5 minutes. It's especially good with wild salmon.
I might be a little sassy cause my back don't like it when I do yard work, but dang, this is just the recipe I needed. Salmon is so good and so forgiving. This recipe seems super tasty, beyond my usual salt, pepper and olive oil, lol.
The more i cool the more i just use salt and pepper. But i just take whole pepper corns roast and smash them its much more flavour. For what using a samon with a very good taste on its own when you dump so strong flavours on it. You can just take the cheapest fish😂
Not really...that was utterly incorrect. No chef would do that to a beautiful piece of fish. First lesson...never madk your food in too many flavors. Second rule...GARLIC NEVER GOES NEAR SALMON....NEVER. Watch a professional cook salmon. Minimal seasoning salt pepper butter. Start on the stove to start rendering fat. Rebaste if nec. YOU CAN TOSS SOME FRESH GERBS AND SHALLOT...EVEN A DASH OF WINE...TO MAKE A SAUCE. PLATE ....SAUCE ..FISH ON YOP OF SAUCE. ALL ABOUT 15 MINUTES. This is how you cook

@@raerohan4241 it isn't really. for that small a piece 15 minutes is plenty of time. he cooked if for like 10 minutes extra. i'd say that's way overdone as well

Looks okay, might be a tad dry. I just slap mine skin side down on a hot frying pan (cast iron but anything works) until the skin is crispy and then sear the other sides for 1-2 minutes before turning off the heat & letting carryover cooking take it past 130°F. There's a really small window of time before it goes from "perfect" to "completely desiccated".
This recipe was *fabulous*. Salmon cooked perfectly, moist throughout. I dried the salmon very well, brushed with butter, and sprinkled a good amount of sea salt flakes on it. All the other things in the video, I did. My oven runs a touch cool, but I cooked it at 375 for 25 mins. So flavorful and moist. All the flavors came together so nicely. My go-to salmon recipe, for sure.
“I forgot the salt” is too relatable tbh, literally every time I cook something I forget the seasoning until it’s done. Seasoning gets tossed on top and it still tastes delicious lol
Honestly, latelly I have been cooking salmon in an air frier, no seasoning while cooking. Just salt and raw lemon once it's cooked. It's crazy how good it tastes
Have you tried cooking your salmon "en papillote". Basically loosely wrapped in paper/parchment. Keeps all the moisture & juices from the salmon, veggies & herbs inside so it can't dry out. Wonderful.
As a chef the following is how you cook Salmon..... salt and pepper the skin side and pan fry until the the Salmon is half done, in the oven for about 7-10 mins depending on size, take it out, juice of half a lemon and serve. Salmon is a good fish, you don't need to over complicate it.
Try it at 425 for 12 minutes gives a little crisp but still tender
Came here to say this!
Thank you for this hack! Definitely will try this week!
Took the words out of my mouth
Pop it under the broiler for a few on both sides👌🏽
@katiescott8275 lmfaoo how is this a hack 😂
I am now measuring every liquid in hoots
25 mins later, you’ll get salmon jerky
LMAO!
I thought the same thing way over cooked.

a recipe you've done that i might actually be able to make!
Do you like the flavor of burned herbs? Because if you don't cover it in foil before you put it in the oven

Nothing wrong with salt pep and OO, but yeah the lemon dill garlic shallot is a pretty classic flavor profile for fish

The third most important ingredient imo is the lemon. Salmon is fatty and the lemon brightens it up and cuts through the fat wonderfully.
He didn't put any pepper on it, he must not like pepper on salmon fish.

Pro Tip: you don't need to oil or butter the dish, if you leave the skin on!
That's because the skin gets left behind on the cookware 😂

Just had salmon for dinner tonight. Balsamic dressing in the air fryer. Easy and fast.
Boiled cider is good, too (similar and glaze-like).
I do the same thing except I just put salt and lemon pepper on it. Some freshly squeezed lemon juice once it's on the plate. So dang good
Same, sometimes I also add a little butter on top then bake, so delicious.
Do you think parsley would be okay instead of dill?
Use same ingredients but cook it in a pan on top of the stove. Done in 5-7 minutes.
Just salt and pepper and put on the fry pan for 3-5 minutes each side. Perfectly tasty salmon and a lot faster then waiting 25 minutes.
