Oh oh. Woman presented as expert...let the bashing begin. Stephen Jay Gould, the famous scientist, discussed the same observations, I guess he was dumb and unscientific, too.
Nothing is inherently "friend shaped" and, yes, scientists can make errors. You know the sure thing for true sexism (and racism) to be ignored is to label everything sexism (and label everything racism).
Gang members are shaped like friendly humans. Poodles and Corgis and wolves. All technically dogs.
It is that we have teddy bears and Paddington Bear, this isn't a mystery. The Bambi effect is why so many are hurt by deer, people approach deer in a way they would not a lion or a rattlesnake.

No. They definitely do, and this is shown by the fact that they do in fact hunt on that sea ice. If they couldn’t smell prey through it, they couldn’t catch anything.

Dr Wynn-Grant was super unhelpful... Just dogma and rhetoric - no rationale. I can imagine them giving the same speech 5k years ago about wolf-dogs.
