    I've also had a 40W laser for my small CNC for a year now. I have already cut 100mm of plywood in one operation. It is extremely practical, quick and very accurate. I also use LIghtBurn, the best laser software worldwide. The problem for me is the smoke, since lasers actually burn out the material with heat. I hope yours has cooling on the laser head, e.g. CO2

    Definitely on my wish list! Scroll saw and mini table saw has done me well but this tool is a must have.

    Could you provide the dimensions of the honeycomb grid located under the laser machine? That's exactly what I need.

    Hi, thanks for the informative video, how do the noise levels (combined internal module fan & air assist compare to other machines of the same power you have used/reviewed

    • @Thercgeek
      @Thercgeek  8 місяців тому +1

      The machine is quite quiet actually. The only thing that makes any notable noise is the air pump. Compared to the 3d printers I have going continuously, it all just kind of blends together.

      Thank you for taking time to reply, hear there is a 40w version on the horizon, probably gonna be a tad louder due to extra heat but if its not too bad might be My savior as I am looking to get the quietest 40w on the market

    Brilliant but how do you or does the machine evacuate the smelly stuff 👍

      I have it next to my garage door, so have it halfway open with a fan next to it blowing outwards. Not perfect, but it works.

    Sweet “laser “ geek man. Question. Do you make a led burner for the new Freewing 80mm Avanti S V2 and can you get it to me here in Australia ?

    • @Thercgeek
      @Thercgeek  10 місяців тому +1

      Yep! The avanti uses a 3658 inrunner motor which is 36mm in diameter, so my 36mm inrunner centerburner would do the trick. For future reference, the first two numbers in the motor label are the motor diameter which is a fairly standard nomenclature across the different brands. 😊

    Sup...ya Geek😉. Well ..after taking a break for a couple years I'm back at it and flying again. Feels ....good!
    Now, if memory serves...I believe you've said in the past you're not a "Bomber plane" kinda guy. Think I got that right. Well, i picked up the new Motion RC /Flightline B25 and buddy.... she's one bone girl! Crazy long flight time on 6s 5000. Like...scale flying with a couple fast passes and I'm coming in at 11 mins with electorns to spare! She is very responsive and being a medium bomber with just two engines (well motors) she can almost pretend to be fighter like in a few cases. Maybe not a B26 Marauder...which I've seen documentaries with WW2 pilots that said the B26 flew like a fighter but...this B25 certainly doesn't feel like a bomber on the air. She can land like a butterfly woth sore feet and...even handle a bounce or two. Not that I've bounced any landings...of course😂.
    Just thinking man... she's popular and I'm sure you're viewers would love seeing you and your spot on reviews! She get lots of views! 😂
    Im flying with HRB 6s 5000s 50c. Amazon has had some smoking deals on those lately and I've had good luck with HRB. Tend to be a bit heavy but...they last with tons of cycles.
    Spectrum AR360T 8CH w/telemetry. Old habits...hard to break lol.
    Spektrum SPM4651T satellite in the tail area. Not a bad investment on the bigger planes and at a field with some notorious dead spots and just tons of 2.4ghz signal. Arizona State University west campus so... Just all gots of bits in the air out there lol. Couple of spots have dirt napped many a plane with many different receivers.
    I wish Efilte or Motion RC would come out with a B26. One of my fav WW2 birds. It could drop bombs and rain lead from all the guns!
    I already wanna repaint the B25 to the USMC pacific colors! Love that blue....over Army Olive Drab lol! Gonna have to be a summer project cause the B25 is gonna be doing a lot of flying this winter!
    Keep it up, Chris! You're one good egg! You really do provide a valuable service that many have benefited from... including myself. Sharing knowledge is one way a man creates a legacy! Kudos and cheers!

      Thank you for your kind words! I have seen the new B-25 and it does look pretty nice. Given I’ve been doing more building these days, I’m not sure I’ll end up purchasing one in the near future. Takes away from funds for building supplies and equipment, haha! Never say never though 😆

      Cheers!

    Have you tried G-10 / fiberglass plate ?

    • @Thercgeek
      @Thercgeek  10 місяців тому

      Not yet, but depending on the thickness, shouldn’t be a problem.
