Agreed - he should put it back. He took what Mr. Concrete God said to heart and took his intro down. Be original Mike and don't worry about what Ryan thinks.
Recommend metal custom box around the pad lock where only your hand fits to put the lock in make it more thief proof from grinder or lock picking master locks are very easy to pick but other than that good idea on your setup.
Mike, nice job man. There is no way someone is getting in those boxes without a cordless die grinder. Its a good feeling knowing your expensive tools are safe.
Be sure to grease the u joints on the front axles real good. When they stick it can yank the steering wheel out of your hands. Real fun experience, I ended up replacing both if mine
Great idea on the tool box locking mechanism. Those expensive tool boxes come with the bar that moves up to unlock. You could also make a smaller bar for those lower boxes. Future project idea: wooden or steel drive-up ramps for greasing, oil changes.
I have a similar rig like yours. I did almost the same thing with that pipe. I made a 90 where the lock is and moved it further in. I welded a 1/4 box around the lock. So I can lock it and unlock it fron underneath. That way no bolt cutters or cutoff wheel will fit. And deterrent is peace of mind. Greetings from Texas.
Mike, I love your videos! You are very talented for your years. You explain everything you are doing and seem like a really nice guy. I'm an old lady McGiver! LOL. I've done everything from plumbing to drywalling to electrical. Almost , you name it so I love how you figure things out. Keep this show going buddy! From Ellie
locks like that are ez to break into but it will give a bit of extra protection but if someone wants it, it will not stop them hope you never have to make a claim for that
I bet it's a big help having the vice bolted to the back of the truck. The bins do look a lot me secure now, they will have to really want to get in now to get in. 👍👍👍👍👍
Looks great, but the question is if you drop that pipe on the ground and bend the threads then you can screw it back in you would’ve been better off making a slide sleeve in the front
Hey 👋 Mike watching your video and you can dry up the floor with a cheap fan. Just put it ground level and leave on and you will come back to a dry floor. I have a damp crawl space and put the fan on and in one day it's all dried up . Then it eventually gets wet and I repeat the process. Great 👍 job
if there was room between doors to weld a piece to help support the bar might be better too or even piece with a hole to feed the bar through for additional security/strength - another great video Mike thanks
Good job with the truck, I was thinking what you can do but than we always way overthink things, the bar with the lock is perfect, most of the time if a thief sees a lock or something they just move on to the next. Simplicity is better in this case. Good job Mike 👍
Say mike, instead of that 3/4 coupling, just weld a 1” coupling an slide your 3/4 pipe into lt, that way no need to be threading it every time you wanna lock it, just a thought
I love your creativity Mike , very cool to see how you approached this lock mechanism. Thanks for the videos and keep on keeping on . Oh yeah , sup Fred lol
The content you put out is always satisfying Mike! Also you said to tell you the fishing report on your live, the northern down here are feasting! Bass aren’t moving much though, you gotta smack them in the face with a bait to get a bite
I’m 4 minutes in….. If you just put tabs on each end and between each box with holes in it big enough for the pipe, you could just slide the pipe through the holes and out a lock and both sides. Then they wouldn’t be able to get in without have a grinder. Seems easiest way to me.
7 minutes in….. That is pretty much what you did. Should do the same thing on the other side where you threaded it. That thread is going to be a pain the more the weather gets to it.
When you stop painting with a spray can… Spray with can upside down to clear paint out of nozzle so it won’t plug up and may work next time you need to paint some more. Thx for videos!
Great video Mike! You do such good work so keep it up and keep the videos coming. I hope to meet you some day but I live in Tennessee so may never happen...lol
it would be heavy af, but would be a permanent solution.. and a lot cleaner.. basically getting 1/4” steel plate and cover the entire tool box door.. each door. and getting a better upgraded locking system for the boxes. nobody would dare bending high grade steel plate 😅 the hinges would go before any bending action. but beef up the hinges too while yoi are at it 🤔
It’s pretty sad that this much security is needed. But we all know that it is. My brother lives in Hawaii, he had a 500lb job box chained in the bed of his truck, parked under security cameras, and they still got it. All his carpentry tools.
Not sure how those threads will hold up over time after some corrosion starts. It might be a pain in the ass to thread in then. You can always just do the same as the back and have 4 locks all keyed the same.
Have you seen the lock bar for utility bodies? It runs through the inside and locks from the back. Im not sure how easy it would be to install but they definitely keep it clean looking
Hi Mike. Ryan at Victory has a bunch of Milwaukee Tools which he isn’t using as he has now done a deal with DeWalt. Why don’t you ask him if he’ll sell you any of them as he won’t be using them on his U Tube Channel. Good luck and thank for the video. Good job.
Should of brought solid tube instead of hollow make it harder to cut through i suppose theyll go for the padlock first anyway as probably the weakeast spot
With that infrared heater you need to have a Fan on to move the warmer Air around the shop because without a fan to move the Air around the heat will just sit up high in the shop and not get down low because heat rises so try a cheap Fan to push the heat around
Try using blow fone Stuff, some newspapers in the hole filled up with the blow fone. Then cut it off when it's dry and put dry Wall Mud Little bit the texture problem. Salti used to do it all the time. For little projects. Or cut it out and put a new piece of dry wall in. Those bars look freaking awesome. And if I miss spelled something sorry it's my damn Dyslexia, my phone types out for me.
Mike, do you need to carry all your tools all the time. That be the safest. I would then make sure to park in well lit spot where theres a chance someone could see if a thief was fkn around. Also if you have a second phone and can have data on it or by wifi. Alfred app on phone is security cam that you can record or moniter. At least have a dash cam in plain site watching the box and you could put a sign saying your on cam. Pad locks are simple. Storage locks the round ones. Unless you can sheild the padlock somehow
Mike, make the intro great again!! Love from the UK, love the videos. Totally different experience than Victory!
Agreed - he should put it back. He took what Mr. Concrete God said to heart and took his intro down. Be original Mike and don't worry about what Ryan thinks.
Nice job! Also, get a GPS and hide it deep within the truck. Thieves may just take the entire truck to a chop shop and easily open everything up.
Good simple solution Mike!
Good work!
Recommend metal custom box around the pad lock where only your hand fits to put the lock in make it more thief proof from grinder or lock picking master locks are very easy to pick but other than that good idea on your setup.
Yea, I was thinking a small shroud, maybe integrate it on the pipe itself so it comes off.

LOVE THE NEW INTRO SO CLEAN AND SIMPLE
Great videos Mike, im that concrete guy you met in chicago , I felt like I ran into a celebrity

Great video, Mike. Big shout out from Ireland 🇮🇪

Yep,good stuff Mike.Good to see Fred again.Love from the UK

Nothing like Watching some amw services during a big storm or atmospheric river here in Northern California
Nice modification it should help you sleep at night knowing your tools are secure
Cheers from Nova Scotia
Awesome Video and Much Love as Always, Mike!!!

Grind the threads of the pipe and inside the elbow and just slide it into there. The padlock will prevent it from coming out of the elbow.
So glad there is a new intro, ngl that old one was an absolute jump scare -_-
I love your creativity Mike , very cool to see how you approached this lock mechanism. Thanks for the videos and keep on keeping on . Oh yeah , sup Fred lol
Cracked me up on the greasing said that just have to be a future Mike problem. I feel you on that. I have done that alot myself😂😂😂
Love Fred !!

Very smart idea threading the pipe in. No bending it out of the way.

Those Master Locks are easy to break.

I tryed that in the video this style of paint can allows you to paint up side down
Lovely work. I think a shutter (rectangle with straight shackle) padlock would be better so it hides the shackle
A lock only keeps an honest man out🤘🏼💪🏼🦅🇺🇸
That Rustoleum Spray Paint you got from Menards is my favorite.
Mike has the best music
Great job 😎 Brilliant idea
Check out a tractor semi-gloss black. Should match bed perfectly
Hello mike and Fred good morning thanks for the videos it makes my day ever time.I wish well all the time.
Watching from 🇨🇦...keep up the great work 🤟
Only as strong as the weakest link, try to rig something around the lock so a pair of bolt cutters cant fit easily around the lock.
Nice job! Watching from Cymru 🏴 (Wales 🏴)
I usually give all my zerks a pump of grease with a manual gun every oil change
Great video Mike! You do such good work so keep it up and keep the videos coming. I hope to meet you some day but I live in Tennessee so may never happen...lol
Maybe one day!
I would stick some screen wire in it and put the mud to it
it would be heavy af, but would be a permanent solution.. and a lot cleaner.. basically getting 1/4” steel plate and cover the entire tool box door.. each door. and getting a better upgraded locking system for the boxes. nobody would dare bending high grade steel plate 😅 the hinges would go before any bending action. but beef up the hinges too while yoi are at it 🤔

Invest in a step bit for drilling holes. makes life easy.

All locks 🔐 makes it easy for a good person to keep walking!
I put padlocks on my fuel tank caps. Just used JB weld. It looked welded but not. 😂
Ryan showed how fast it is to cut those locks.
Its a deterrent locks only keep honest people honest if someone really wants in they’ll get in
Nice Project Content Mike...I enjoyed it!!!
Have you seen the lock bar for utility bodies? It runs through the inside and locks from the back. Im not sure how easy it would be to install but they definitely keep it clean looking
They are nice I thought about it b4 I did this
True that man I had a 12k welder that I used 3 times stolen after I owned it for 3 months 😊
Sorry to hear that
Welder is running smooth you can hear it🙌
You can also put front and rear cameras on the truck
Sheesh Mike!!!!
It's okay to sleep inn you know
Cali time
Lmfaoooo what are you talking about 😂
A cordless grinder will take that lock right off and then easy access. Or a slower route would be a couple pipe wrenches.
Mike.
Ryan is selling all his Milwaukee Tools.
Get in there and buy them from him.
Good job a lock is only good for a honest thief
Get you some quick Jack's. Good video
you da man MIke ..but i think they can break the lock too😬
Hi Mike.

Goooooood afternoon, Mike.
Lease your weren’t like Ryan a whole year lol 😂😂jk love that guy and all his videos
Thieves, not thiefs. We love you Michael

Instead of a lock you should put a bolt with locknut it definitely would be more theif proof 😊😊😊keep up the good work
Happy Friday everyone! Keep safe and enjoy the well earned weekend!
That lock is the weakest part. Would take about 5 seconds to get it off with bolt cutters or a cordless angle grinder.
Put two way hook in the middle mike ,what lifts up ,spin drops down and locks middle ,

mike your laugh is similar to doctor hibbert from the simpson 😅😅😂😂
All right, all right it is what it is
No gloves while welding!?!? You're crazy Mike!
Only time I might wear gloves welding is if I’m doing overhead welding haha
I have that exact same aluminum lock and I hate that you cant take the key out unless its locked.... really inconvenient.
Nice shop
Yea I wish I knew that b4 buying them!
You should rig a milwaukee battery charger off your trucks electrical

What about ryan he shows his tools and no one seems to care to steal it
@@Sa.d.bo26look into polished concrete llc, and ryans brother jim. ryan is pretty shady
@@MiaM1ViiCE what you mean by shady what did he do
@@Sa.d.bo26 did you even read the rest of my comment, ryan is a known embezzler, he ruined his brothers life
@@MiaM1ViiCE how did he ruined his life he seems happy on facebook
The weakest link for any of that kind of security work is the lock
Next time I wouldn't go play by play which boxes on the truck had the most valuable tools and which didn't. You're asking for trouble by doing that.
Ryan has been doing that but no one seems to steal any of his tools
I feel like it is not going to matter either way, shitty people will be shitty regardless.
Weld another piece of angle at the end of the pipe and all you have to do is make hole on both angle pieces so u don’t have to go through the pipe

Morning Fred!
I was at ILCA all 3 days wish I saw you haha
Hello from Guam 🇬🇺
You should put an inverter to charge your batteries
I have one just haven’t gotten around to installing it yet
Grease is a cheap VG maintenance Mike. Especially with a HD work vehicle and with all the damn salt that gets used in Wisconni !
Mike as far as greasing my cars and truck I do it every 3 oil changes or 15,000 miles. I basically go by how bad of roads I drive on.
Good work
Mike get some welding gloves brother! How the heck were you just taking that shower of sparks?? Lol
I very rarely wear gloves haha
Bolt cutters will take them pad locks out in 10 seconds
You could pop that lock in 10 seconds lol
Put small dot of oil to drive metal better..
Mike! What ever happened to that 1990 yellow top kick dump truck?
I sold that truck almost two years ago the dump trailer works better for me at this point in time
7:03 somebody been playing squash in your unit ,maybe what red line behind yous for 😊
It's easier if you drill from end to end half inch and weld corresponding brackets inside?😮
