Use a 'dry' waxy lubricant for those screws rather than automotive oil or grease. Use the same thing or furniture 'paste wax' on the table - it looks to be cast iron, which will rust if you put your sweaty hands on it, or even just live somewhere other than the Sahara or Gobi deserts because moisture will come out of the air too. Look around and you can find small diameter corrugated plastic tube (Triton dust hose was easy find back in the day) as either dust hose or large diameter cable trunking (the IKEA stuff is too small), if it is not already slit down one side its easy to do, then put it around exposed screw jacks and the like to keep most of the dust off - use cable ties of 'duck' tape to fasten it as you will eventually have to clean inside, but more like once a year rather than every week or two. The corrugations should give it enough flex to cope with your adjustments, just fasten it so that the screw thread is always hidden and the smooth parts can be more exposed.
Safety tips: DON'T wear cloth or leather gloves on machines with bits that spin around in circles - skin that is sanded off will grow back fairly quickly, fingers that have been twisted and spun in circles - well, even the best reconstructive surgeons can't fix that, and will often recommend amputation as the finger will never be anything more than a dead lump getting in the way.

"if you don't have the machines, what's the point of anything." True words 😆

Bit excessive, but the bit made me chuckle so it stayed in. “If it plays, it stays” is my editing motto.
