I loved listening to you’re story while I’m cleaning up my office. I’m just now getting into this hobby. I found out about Travelers Company two days ago and the very next day I drove an hour to the closest shop in Dallas that carries them and bought the passport in blue with a few accessories and the beginners book in Japanese. I’m in the same boat where I have to curb my enthusiasm when I see all of these collectors editions and modifications. I have very little impulse control 😄. Thanks again for the videos. I really enjoyed this video! Do you still make videos? I subscribed to your channel. I just ordered my first Midori/Travelers Company notebook. I really want the blue, but it would take a long time to get to my house. For now I ordered the camel in passport size. I once sold a wallet and after the lady received it she contacted me and thanked me for putting a dollar in there because that is how she was raised, when you sell or gift a wallet it isn't supposed to be empty. I was really happy for her, but the thing is, I don't remember putting any money in the wallet. lol I love the charm your pen pal gave you that says the only day is today, or something like that. I hope I love my passport cover! Take care. I hope to see more of your videos.

yes, I still do videos but not as often as I would like to as the filming /editing/uploading is very time consuming and time I can set aside fory hobby very limited.
but I do intend to carve out a block of time soon to catch up here 😊

I love that you opened up about your unexpected expenses. I think sometimes we get so caught up on our wishlists or possessions that sometimes it has to be on hold so we can take care of life, basically. But the great thing is that we can always go to our TN’s and it will be there for us! It is a luxury to have these leather goods and I’m grateful to have what I have too. So cool to learn about Croatia!

And yes! These things are definitely a luxury, I try to be very aware of that because it's easy to get tied up in wishlists, spending a lot, collecting... And sometimes I feel like I already own too much... Keeping a sense of balance, that's what I'm working on constantly. Not there yet! 😅
It is the little things that matters. That is how we see beauty in this ordinary day 2 day life❤️
In u.k.we also put silver coins in wallets and purses .
Some nice Ladies from a Campomaggi store in Italy told me that good old Nivea-Cream is a fantastic leather conditioner. I tried it and it works beautifully, plus your leather has a pleasant smell. 😉
Yes, life is what happens while we're busy making plans. Unexpected occurrences & emergencies have happened to me too in the most inopportune times. Wish you the best. Thank you for sharing your journey.

Also, the custom is that if you gift a knife to someone, you should include a coin so as to not cut the friendship. PS - I prefer the blue leather over all the brown tones that are so popular. ❤️🇨🇦

I've really been enjoying your videos. I'm reaching out to seek your advice - I'm looking for a compact wallet insert for my passport sized Traveler's Notebook and am contemplating between the 1.61 Soft Goods insert which is thin and soft vs. the TSL/Baum-Kuchen insert which I've seen in your 2023 journals video that you also have.
I'm curious to understand how your 1.61 Soft Goods has aged over the years. Are you still using it? I really like the one by TSL/Baum-Kuchen but it's so expensive + shipping to Germany is super expensive. Plus, I'm afraid it might be too bulky for my TN which is also my main journal.

My favorite is definitely the BK version even though it's a bit more bulky but it does provide more storage and it suits my needs and preferences regarding design better. The 1.61 aged beautifully until I accidentally stained it and washed it after that. It is still usable but the leather is pretty worn by my misuse 😔 if I would to buy another, I would buy the BK one. But if you are more into minimal design, need minimal pockets and a thin profile, the 1.61 makes a gorgeous product with beautiful leather and 😊

Since you're also based in the EU, I'm curious to understand, do you order BK products directly from their website or do you know of any other retailers here in Europe? The shipping costs + duties are really discouraging.
I think you can get their wallets only though them directly. yes I know it's such a huge expense 😔 that's the only reason I don't have more of their artifacts because I really love their work and designs but I can only save up slowly for a thing or two a year.
