Rounds are important. It turns it into a chess match with the coaching needing to give good advice and the fighter needing to adapt their game plan.
Have you watched BJJ with no time limits.... Imo it's not as action packed as say ebi.
I like both this kind of no walls ring and a cage (ropes is lethal for mma) both have their advantages if the fighters know how to use them. Watch some combat karate for effective use of this type of ring.
