Ridiculous to say he's inexperienced that time, he knew it all that time, too. Later on, he got injured and inactive, and then cameback losing to one of his countryman puller, practice and again back strength, beat that guy and continually increase power each time we see him until now. Prudnik is heavier when he pulled Ongarbaev anyway, hard to know what happen IF they pulled in same weightclass now.

Irakli is very close to the 90 to around 100 kg human strength limit. He is also 190cm(6'3") Unmatched in his weight range, his curls are up there close to Levans curls. And wathcing Ongarbaev control that power with beautiful technique is amazing. Ongarbaev could be the best armwrestler in the world tbh.

He alos surpassed that as well he gained some weight in 2 years but still he looks like normal guy. People twice his size cannot curl that much weight. That is what i am referring to.

It is such a pleasure watching Ongarbaev pulling. His armwrestling is just beatiful to watch. He became my favourite Armwrestler when I watched his performances in the TOP8 and my respect and regard for him keeps growing everytime I watch him compete.

You're right. It's beautiful to watch :) John is from a different era though, right ? Arm wrestling had no real money and absolutely no fame to offer the first 20 yrs of his career. Most atheltes hardly trained much off the table and John developed his skills and strength mainly by arm wrestling a lot. Ongarbaev started a lot younger than John and he's been training hard all his life in a way that John never did cuz there were no incentives to do so. He still contirbuted a lot to evolution of the sport and developed/showcased techniques that guys use today. I can only imagine how much better he would have been if he worked hard regularly on specific aspects of the game off the table like most athletes do today
I wish all top level arm wrestling matches can be so well conducted (naming no names!). These guys looked each other in the eye, gripped up and got to work. No shame for Irakli's loss, Kydyrgali is amazing, must be the current best arm wrestler pound for pound. Looking forwards to seeing both these guys future matches.

Indeed. John just didn't have anywhere near the kind of incentives or the means that athletes have today. He just competed a lot against the best of his time. No real training off the table, no meticulous preparation for matches. For most of his career, the sport didn't offer much to even call anyone a professional

It is such a pleasure watching Ongarbaev pulling. His armwrestling is just beatiful to watch. He became my favourite Armwrestler when I watched his performances in the TOP8 and my respect and regard for him keeps growing everytime I watch him compete.

John is from a different era though, right ? Arm wrestling had no real money and absolutely no fame to offer the first 20 yrs of his career. Most atheltes hardly trained much off the table and John developed his skills and strength mainly by arm wrestling a lot. Ongarbaev started a lot younger than John and he's been training hard all his life in a way that John never did cuz there were no incentives to do so. He still contirbuted a lot to evolution of the sport and developed/showcased techniques that guys use today. I can only imagine how much better he would have been if he worked hard regularly on specific aspects of the game off the table like most athletes do today

I wish all top level arm wrestling matches can be so well conducted (naming no names!). These guys looked each other in the eye, gripped up and got to work. No shame for Irakli's loss, Kydyrgali is amazing, must be the current best arm wrestler pound for pound. Looking forwards to seeing both these guys future matches.

I’m only a casual arm wrestling fan and I’m just super impressed by Ongarbaev. Let be honest, he doesn’t look like much like he doesn’t have an impressive physique. In fact his arms looks small and kills guys with bulging muscles all the time and he’s super focused and professional. Guys amazing

Indeed. John just didn't have anywhere near the kind of incentives or the means that athletes have today. He just competed a lot against the best of his time. No real training off the table, no meticulous preparation for matches. For most of his career, the sport didn't offer much to even call anyone a professional
His technique and execution is better than John

@@andrey4321 у Кыдыргали костяк тяжелый. Там можно еще много мяса накинуть при желании. Но эстетика потеряется, внешность. Да и набрать 140-160кг тяжело, склоности к набору такого веса не наблюдается.
